Wrist on mousepad or slightly above it when aiming? (CSGO)

Is it handier to aim with your wrist on the mousepad or just slightly above it? (CSGO, mostly micro adjustment game)
I was wondering about this because I saw a lot of pro players holding their wrist slightly above the mousepad while aiming. But wouldn't having the wrist give extra stability?
I have a EDPI of 1200.
