Day 1:
Just completed my first benchmark, first time ever aim training, and its no wonder I suck at FPS games... I will be aim training every day to see how far I can get and how this changes my aim in games. Anyone have any advice on how often I should be benchmarking vs training? And when training, should I focus mostly on going slowly and making sure I hit my shots instead of trying to be fast? Any advice is very welcome!

Edit: spelling

Day 2:
Just finished my first session following the VDIM, today is Saturday so I completed the switching II ( entry ) playlist, and this will be all the aim training I will do today, as I plan to follow the VDIM closely. I saw what I think is incredible improvement given this is only my second day in my aim training journey, and my first day actually completing a practice session. I achieved gold in two categories, which I had scored bronze on just yesterday, and also improved another bronze score into silver. All of these improvements were actually enough to get my overall rank to be silver now! Excited to keep going especially after seeing such massive progress in just one day and one practice session, love the idea of benchmarking some of the sub-categories within the practice routines themselves, makes me look forward to practice routines as I can see my progress...silvervoltaic

Starting Bronze yesterday, now Silver!

Note: after playing valorant for the first time after aim training, I performed the worst I have ever performed, by far, over multiple games, consistently at a level well bellow how I usually perform. I will trust the process and stick to aim training, as at least now when I loose every duel, I know it is my own aim and movement holding me back, it doesn't feel so confusing anymore as to why my shots don't land and theirs do, as I feel much more in control of my mouse, even if that feeling of control leads to objectively worse aim right now, I believe that if I keep improving my benchmarks eventually my control will be good enough such that I start to win duels, this is my hope.

Day 3:
Since today is Sunday, I decided to target my weakest sub-category, static. Today I played Monday's routine ( Clicking I entry). When I started, both my static benchmarks were iron ranked, during today's session, I managed to increase one of them to gold and the other to silver. I was hoping I could get both of them to gold, so I did that benchmark more times than I was supposed to in an attempt to get it to gold, and came really, really close, but despite trying many times, I just could not get there. I will take this as a sign that I'm still not skilled enough for gold today, so tomorrow, after I repeat the Clicking I entry routine, I hope I'll be able to get gold then. Progress continues to be very fast in my opinion.

Day 4:
Followed Monday's VDIM routine, so basically repeated what I did yesterday, and was BARELLY able to reach gold on the one I was missing from static, but I got there. I'm considering running a benchmark of all the scenarios today since I am feeling that my aim is overall very different now compared to when I started, may do that. For now, here are my scores after today's routine:

So I ended up deciding to benchmark again, saw improvement pretty much across the board, but some scenarios and sub-categories are still extremely weak, now I know I should target those, so I will begin to deviate from the VDIM routine, in the sense that I will focus on my weaknesses but still using the VDIM playlists, just not necessarily the daily order. Reached overall gold! goldvoltaic But not silver complete because of those two scenarios where I am still extremely weak at bronze level...

Day 5:
Tried to get some of my weakest scenarios improved, managed to improve some a little bit, but VT PGT Novice is absolutely crushing me, I am abnormally terrible at it, and is the sole reason I am not silver complete yet despite so many other scenrios being at gold already, I also do not feel close to reaching gold on VT Popcorn Novice, it seems I have serious trouble with the scenarios which involve any kind of bouncing, not sure why this is or how to fix it beyond just playing more, I will admit it is quite annoying how slow and difficult it has been to improve at these specific scenarios when so many of the others took very little effort to get to gold...

#

Finally got silver complete silvercomplete , figured out that one of my main weaknesses is definitely "smoothness", and I am going to need lots of practice on smoothness if I wish to get gold particularly on VT PGT.

Day 6:
I really wanted to work specifically on improving my smoothness, so upon searching a little, I found a video by Viscose where she recommends some particular control scenarios to improve smoothness, so I tried them for a while, and then decided to try to beat my scores on the control sub-category, so I played the VT S5 Control Tracking Focus - Entry playlist until I got them to gold, which took some effort, but I managed to get there.

Trained smoothness even more, and decided to go for the benchmarks I was missing gold on to see if just the smoothness training was enough to push my scores to gold, and actually for most of them it was, smoothness was definitely a factor that was holding me back big time accross multiple different sub-categories. It still was not enough to get gold on VT PGT, I won't deny that I'm starting to hate that particular scenario with a passion, I think there is something I fundamentally don't quite have down yet for that scenario

#

Since I was so close, I just decided to try the VT PGT benchmark a couple of times to see if I could finally get gold on it. I DID IT. It could have been a fluke, in fact I honestly think it probably was, but I'm still happy I got gold complete! Excited to move on to intermediate level and try to go for platinum! I'm definitely satisfied with my progress so far, 6 days to go from bronze to gold complete!goldcomplete

Started Bronze, just got Gold Complete! ( 6 days aim trained so far )

Tried the intermediate benchmark and lets just say it was a humbling experience... not a single plat score, though admittedly I didn't try particularly hard at any of them, mostly just took it easy. Still, I envision lots and lots of practice before I can actually hit platinum, as I got below 20th percentile scores for most of these, which is plain sad... but someday, I'll hit platinum scores.

Day 7:
Completed VDIM Intermediate S5 - Tracking II, saw tiny improvement on one of the scenarios of the benchmark, but overall noticed little to no progress, and felt a lot of the scenarios on VDIM Intermediate S5 - Tracking II were extremely difficult, in fact, I ended up below 10th percentile for most of them, and some even below 2nd percentile, it seems I will need exponentially more time to go from gold complete to platinum than from bronze to gold complete.

NOTE: some of the gold scores were updated, and this actually took away my gold complete for a moment, but I quickly replayed those benchmarks and was very easily able to get them back to gold, and to keep my gold complete.

Day 8:
Sort of skipped two days of aim training, was playing lots of valorant in these two days though. I felt my aim in game has somewhat improved and I'm starting to win some duels.

Today I did the 4rK focus routine on intermediate linear clicking, since I was close to getting platinum for one of the scenarios in that sub-category, and I could not achieve my first platinum score yet, but I did get some better scores, just not enough yet. Going from gold complete to platinum seems infinitely tougher than going from bronze to gold complete, but I will keep training until I reach at least Diamond, that will be my main goal.

Day 9:
Repeated the 4rK focus routine for intermidiate linear, and also did the one for static clicking. I finally achieved my first plat score, two of them actually. Was not able to achieve plat for any of the static ones, but tomorrow I'll have a shot at getting plat as Monday's routine is on static clicking.

Day 10:
Completed Monday's VDIM routine ( intermediate Clicking I ) saw minor improvements in the benchmarks but not enough to get platinum on any, achieving platinum complete seems like is very very far ahead of me, it took me about 20 hours of training to go from bronze to gold complete, and it seems it should take me about 20 or 30 more hours to go from gold complete to platinum complete, the jump in skill is much much higher; at least it feels that way

Day 11:
Completed Tuesday's VDIM rountine ( intermediate Clicking II ), got a new plat score and came extremely close to my first diamond score, literally one click away from diamond on VT Frogtaton Intermediate S5.

Day 12:
Completed Wednesday's VDIM rountine ( intermediate Tracking I ). Saw some improvement in all the benchmarks in the routine but not enough for any new plat scores, although I got very close; still need more practice.

Day 13:
Skipped yesterday's training ( Thursday ). Today, I completed Friday's VDIM routine ( intermediate Switching I ). Basically more of the same, came very close to getting platinum on all of the benchmarks on the playlist, but wasn't able to get any.
