#Question about switching settings and improvement.

Hello! I started aim training again about two months ago—almost three now. I began at silver and have since progressed to nearly diamond. Initially, I played every scenario with a 35cm sensitivity and 125 FOV in Overwatch. That approach got me to gold, and I achieved several platinum scores, but I felt like I hit a plateau.

So, I switched to the recommended 103 FOV for everything except the TS scenarios, and now I’m consistently hitting platinum with some diamond scores. Recently, I decided to aim for diamond, so I switched to a 45cm sensitivity. My scores are improving again, but it feels a bit like cheating. It seems like I didn’t actually get better; I just changed my sensitivity or FOV and saw almost immediate improvement.

Is this normal? Do you reach a point where you need to change your settings to get better? If I stick with 45cm, will my raw aim improve, or will it just be my scores? I’m especially struggling with static clicking—it’s barely at platinum level. Sorry for the long post!

yes its completely normal to switch sensitivity for different scenarios and its not cheating, moreover switching sens can be beneficial to overall developing your mouse control and aim

heres great video by viscose on the topic https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uPkYc84GrSc&t

We've all heard it before, stick to one sensitivity to get good aim and if you change it you'll ruin your muscle memory. If this is true though, how can the best players change their sens all the time and still aim well?

The game I'm playing at a few points that isn't valorant or apex is called the finals, its free on steam and rly fun c:
