For this task I can't really understand how my high score isn't improving, moving targets hasn't really ever been my thing

I recommend you to use a crosshair with a gap, or make your current crosshair smaller given your current crosshair is obscuring the target too much, making it harder for you to see you are on target.

Make sure you are leading the target a bit -> aim slightly infront of where the target is going by reading their movement.
