like i dont even know what adhd is other than like being hyper or slow reactive
or being like super adhd
from like the kids who would always tell you they had adhd in grade school
i never thought that i even have the slightest possibility to get adhd until last year
now im getting tested bc school and gaming
but even in gaming my attention span is short and i constantly let go of my mouse to stretch mid game like wtf
well
yeah
for other things like work
like managing work, school, then free time, as well as sports is difficult
thats why I am paying $400 to get tested just to know whether if its adhd or im just not managing time well and let stress get to me
i just cant seem to get started on schoolwork or finish it
either i tunnel on school or games idk cant balance
F
thoughts on Alpha GPC is it even worth getting?
seen any improvements, mood, coordination, learning? @eternal dock
My mechanics have been getting better but I completely revamped my stack with alot of things
So it's hard to know specifically what it is
Is it bad to use a keyboard wrist rest while gaming? I don’t need it for typing but it doesn’t make sense to let my hand just float, it starts to ache after a while so I’m thinking of investing in one
ur hand shouldnt float
People say it’s bad to plant it as well because it makes an angle... but most of this I read seemed anecdotal and about typing and not gaming right?
If so would that make it okay to grab one for that purpose?
You dont want to put the feet up on your keyboard
So the keyboard will be flat on the desk or slightly angled but no keyboard feet
if it aches thats bad
give a wrist rest a try, if its more comfortable for you then awesome
i started kovaaksing this week and now my wrist hurts should i stop
how much, is it sore, or in pain
it just painful if i bend my hand back and when i wake up its worse
my hand still feels stiff while playing after doing hand stretches, how can i prevent that ?
After playing for a while my right eyelid twitches a bit what could be the cause?
@violet swan um maybe your pulse, that’s happened to me before but very rarely tho.
@violet swan you should stretch it every morning, night, and around training sessions. Don’t train if it hurts, soreness is fine, but don’t over do your training. Also might be a good idea for you to check your sens and make sure it doesn’t overly rely on your wrist, as in you tend to push yourself outside a natural range of motion
@violet swan you could also take a supplement called Glucosamine-Chondroitin. It’s basically like the fluid in your joints and can help you if a deficiency in it is causing you pain.
@violet swan Okay so I’m assuming you had stiffness before and still have it after stretching and the doing a routine? I just want to point out that stiffness is not necessarily bad. Like if go do an arm workout of 45 minutes, my arm muscle typically feel stiff cause they’ve been pumped. One thing that can help is stretching after your workout too. Also you want to incorporate static and active stretching. I’m not sure I know any active stretches for your hand but there’s research that shows active stretching is better for your muscles rather than static stretches where you hold a position are.
It's crazy, if I just slightly change the way I claw the mouse, my scores improve significantly
available in #resources
do the mobility before a session
stretch after you're done for the day
stretching can ruin your gains if you do it before a session
so just do mobility first to lube your soft tissue
afterwards you can stretch to improve recovery
assuming you've finished your session or finished with the intent to train outside of your comfort levels which is how you improve
get plenty of rest and hydrate
stiffness, soreness and muscle twitches are normal
pain that is inhibiting you from continuing your tasks is a red flag and should be avoided
hey i did a workout this morning and now my arm feels dead like how it feels after lying on it for a while. any advice on how to fix it or if it’s an injury or just bad soreness. it KILLS btw like it’s hard to move my arm. also it’s in my upper arm, probably 2-3 inches away from my shoulder
Uhh
Do you usually workout?
@topaz cosmos
If you usually workout, then it’s probably an injury or just that you pushed yourself hard.
If it’s your first time working out in months, it’s most likely soreness.
But soreness shouldn’t prevent you from moving your arm.
What type of work out did you do? Sounds to me like you might've pinched a nerve doing a Barbell OHP and now it's restricting feeling in your arm
That's just a random guess but as someone who has gotten many pinched nerves from shoulder workouts, I'd say it's entirely possible
has anyone here been to the doctor in person since covid for non covid reasons?
theres something messed up with my stomach and idk what I should do
since its pretty much communication through the phone with a doctor but its also not an emergency
so idk what to do
I messed up my hand yesterday and now if I move my wrist slowly to the right my hand starts actually shaking and I can't aim at all anymore is there anything I can do about this???
Did a lot of random stretches and my hand is starting to feel better
@real musk i did a full body workout, i don’t think any exercise specifically targeted my shoulder
are there diets to improve vrt? i heard sugar is really bad
Hello there!
anyone has experience with ketogenic diet?
I read is quite good for health and boosts energy
might be a good diet for gaming
is 8 hours sleep enough for a 14 year old?
Ofc
Yo my wrist hurts after doing my daily warmup for 30 minutes what do i do
its tired too
is it just me but sometimes my hand doesnt respond to what my brain orders it to do, like for example it gives the order to my index finger to click and i feel my finger flinch but it wont fully move, sometimes it wont even move even tho i wanted it to
@storm tundra how old are you and how much have you played video games / working on computers in the past? That could potentially be rsi (im no expert so take this with a grain of salt tho)
when do i know to come back from a nerve injury? i damaged my radial nerve in both my hands (self diagnosis back of both hands "burned" and tingled alot, dominant hand more severe) from bad posture and extreme amounts of gaming. since i have fixed my posture and mostly cold turkeyed from typing/gaming/etc for 2 months+ and feel much better but unsure when to comeback(gaming, typing, etc) because i cameback too early one time and it made it slightly worse
started doing the mobility routine from kastors doc and noticed that it kinda hurts around my thumb area. not really sure if im doing the stretches wrong or i alrdy have some possible strain in my hand or that its normal
Does anyone know whats the correct way to be sitting when gaming
not slouching, not too long, not constantly rigid (shrugged shoulders etc)
okay ty the reason I ask is cause I have a lot of forearm friction after long hours when I game and ive tried making my room cold but it makes my hands feel super slow and ive tried arm sleeves so I thought maybe im sitting wrong if that makes any sense
Sorry for the late response. I've done about 34 hours of typing on 10fastfingers, and i've only done about 52 hours of kovaaks. I'm 16.
I also type improperly, wish i could show you a handcam
damn, everyone with their among us pfp
changed the profile pic
Should I be incorporating rest days and if so how often? Or should I be doing alternating workouts like fundamental one day and a game specific the next then repeat?
can i take Gaba middle of day?
I have a weird question, couldn't really find an answer anywhere.. I use glasses to work, for distance vision, my close vision is good. Do distance vision glasses help in gaming in 3d games? Like COD/Apex ect or that's close vision lol
anyone know why i get a wierd feeling in my chest when i aim train sometimes
like ive noticed it happens when i do Popcorn Sparky
hey guys i had a question about a wrist injury
ive been playing csgo and valorant pretty regularly, 8-12 hours a day, consecutively with a few breaks, since december of last year.
one day i flicked right, and something popped cracked or broke, im not sure what. and i felt it in my wrist, elbow, and shoulder. and now on the outside of my right wrist, there is a little tiny strand of something out of place and it feels like a nerve but im not sure.
i can say that i think this was caused due to my ecu snapping over the radial bone that is a ball in my wrist. it appears to be enlarged right now, so a cyst could also be another answer
regardless, ive seen 2 doctors, and gotten an mri this past week, and i still have not heard anything on what is wrong with my wrist. does anyone here have any ideas?
That sounds pretty serious man it'd probably be best to stick to medical professional advice
@glacial flame the pixels of your monitor are what you're actually looking at, so games are all near vision
@lethal cloak its probably just you getting stressed from the pressure of the scenario
do you guys have an idea how long it usually takes a mild injury to heal?
is 6 months too much to expect, because i am exepecting less
it depends a lot on how you rehab it and how severe it was
scam^ not official steam site
i have a ganglion cyst in my wrist
its hereditary, 4 of my family members have had one in the past
surgical removal is necessary, rehabilitation with physical therapy
thoughts on recovery time ?
whats the point of having a health channel w questions if the only answer is "why dont you ask the doctor"
because your question is so specific and we have no idea how serious your condition is.
^^^^
fair
I had a non painful one and my doc just told me to rest it and it was gone like within a few months or so
though my cyst appeared randomly not through a sudden flick of the wrist or anything
mine has progressively gotten worse, however it is a common genetic error that some of my family members have dealt with before
how much soda is too much?
Drinking soda in general is bad, If possible I would just stick to water.
do any of you suffer tight external rotation of the aiming arm?
Icy could be shoulder issues from weak rear delts @storm plinth
school needs to give me a break
What would y'all recommend to give water a more taste so I fool my big stupid brain into drinking more of it
try leaving water bottles in the fridge before you drink them
chilled water is so nice
turned me into a water addict
More than room temp hurts my teeth even though I like it 😭
I love chill water
Guys
I can never get a good contraction in my lats or chest compared to my other muscles. It's been frustrating and they might just be my genetic weak point, but I've been slowly making progress. I initially thought I just needed to lift much lighter so that I could isolate the muscle better with higher reps, and I did have some success with that initially, but now I'm back to feeling no contraction.
I think I actually need to do the opposite and just lift very heavy with strict form, today was the closest feeling to a pump I've felt in my lats in a long time.
it can be hard to feel the connection with your pecs/lats
especially on stuff like pulldowns since it's easy to let the arms do too much work when you're supposed to be targeting your back
I get the best pumps when I start the workout with some heavy low rep compound movements(squat, deadlift, bench, ohp, free weight rows) then finish with high rep low weight on cables/machines
also if you have poor posture while benching you'll be taking the tension off your pecs and be using your shoulders too much, it's important to keep those shoulders pulled back
I've been going to the gym for a year and I'm a bit of a form junkie (I keep strict form on all my exercises).
I do a lot of research on how to do them correctly, I don't think it's a problem with form
Thanks for the tip though
have u hired a personal trainer
Ever try cable chest flys? Those usually help me connect with my pecs immensely compared to bench press. I also remember I felt a serious contraction when I was trying to do volume on 80% of my 1RM on bench.
Doing lat pulldowns with a slightly wider than shoulder width grip also seemed to help me contract my lats. Instead of focusing on using all my muscles to bring the bar down, I focus on holding on the bar and bringing my elbows down and in.
I have not hired a personal trainer, it's kind of unnecessary imo with the wealth of knowledge that exists on the internet
Most PTs just go through basic shit with people anyways
I have tried cable chest flys, and they did work pretty well, they are one of the better exercises for me.
I did them high to low to try and target my lower chest a bit more but it just did the overall chest
I'll try lat pulldowns with wider grip, I usually actually do them closer grip since it allows you to pull your elbow along the axis of the fibers in the muscle better
But maybe wide grip will allow me to isolate better
I also did machine flys and those were killer compared to any other exercise I've done
I think that generally narrower grips stimulate lats more, but again, this is just me. Overall suggestion is just to vary grip width I suppose. Also, maybe try parallel grip with pulldowns/pullups if you can? I usually feel too much bicep in chinup grip, but a little limited by shoulders in overhand.
Lat pullovers also come to mind, though I don't have much experience with them.
whats considered a normal resting heartrate?
I think, I could be COMPLETELY wrong 80 is pretty normal
Mine is around 60-70 usually though because I am very active
The more healthy (active?) you are, usually the lower bpm because your cardiovascular system will need to work less hard to pump more blood
@clear sigil
oh cool ty
im not particularly active and mine hovers around 65
but since that still seems to be in the normal range i wont worry too much about it
AGAIN, I could be wrong, but I think your heartrate could be 65 because of unhealthy reasons like high blood pressure as well
@clear sigil
alright thanks ill look into that
Yo I’m kinda wondering about why I’m sweating a lot while I’m gaming, it’s just weird because I’m not actually that hot
For me it just seems like some health issue but just kinda confused
what do you think about dr levi?
green tea + coffee ?
@bleak lark sweat can be caused by different things other than heat like stress/anxiety which can definitely be a factor when aim training if you are afraid of choking
Also some people just sweat more than others.
i thought transparent labs had a pretty good pre-workout, back from when i used it, little pricey though
much more cost effective long run to buy supplements in bulk and make your own, something like caffeine, l-theanine, l-citrulline malate, creatine monohydrate, maybe some bcaas is a good start
How can I stop growing taller? I heard lots of work out with limiting diet will help
I’m 16 btw and I don’t want to be slender man I’m already 6 1 1/2
Or 186 cm
Not sure thats something many people have researched
Lifting would be good just to avoid back problems maybe
Strong core
Ok ty I’ll add that to my list
Wish I was 165-175 cm
Na make that 175-180
Perfect height
what would be a good chair for ergonomics and stuff for gaming
i have bad back pain and i saw a physical therapist type person and they said my chair sucks
logitech x hermen miller
ya steelcase or herman miller
try to sit in some in a store if you can
bc everyone is different
@grand laurel
@worthy cloud thanks man for that advice
felt instant improvements while sitting like that

i no longer have pain
Great
I owe you - what you want from me
No worries man, that image is actually from the channel pins
Some other good stuff there too
The other stuff is where
I have like pain in my hand, like under my pinky
Whenever I bend my hand to the right or like down with my right side first, there's like a sharp pain
Doctor
I think it like developed overnight or something, i had no pain yesterday
could be pulled muscle
Is there a higher chance of pulling your muscle if you don't exercise for a long time?
I haven't exercise in a while because of all the homework I need to do for school
yes
if it does continue for more than a few days tho, without diminishing pain, I would see a doctor
alright, i only noticed the sharp pain this morning, it wasn't there yesterday though
i hope it'll go away by the weekend
would it help to ice the area of pain?
it will make it worse, so I wouldn't do it if you aren't dying from pain
alright, the only time it hurts is when i bend my hand to the right so it seems i wouldn't need the ice
Do u guys have any advice for cold hands
handwarmers
how many situps should u be able to do if its just all out endurance
Step 2: in your pants
@ornate turret it worked ty
Don't worry @thorny igloo
i've been on adderall xr for about 6-7 months (30-35mg for past 2-3 months) but have decided to stop taking it so i can actually eat and not feel like a robot again. Is there anything I can do to help the withdrawal not hit as hard so i don't feel like absolute shit
talk with the prescriber about it if you can
Inb4 no prescriber
usually you should taper off of it by gradually reducing your dose
can a cut long socks be used as arm sleeves to ruduce forearm friction? cause my desk gets super sticky on my forearm and i dont have arm sleeve would a cut sock be the same?
Yeah I would say to taper off your dosage to minimize the withdrawal, but not sure if it works the same way as caffeine or nicotine.
You can taper off of those, not sure about addys.
yea i kinda just went cold turkey with it but ive been taking 200mg l-theanine and 100mg caffeine to help a little bit
caffeine usually makes me feel jittery/nervous on its own, l-theanine helps smooth that out
yeah thats why im curious about it
So could being chronically dehydrated and drinking maybe a glass of water every other day be contributing to my tough time focusing on targets
I mean you should always try to keep hydrated, and I cant imagine it not helping you
i drink 1-2l of green tea everyday
If you're that dehydrated your brain literally isn't functioning properly
Yeah I drink so little water because my stupid body needs like a few gallons daily to not feel dehydrated and that is just tedious to maintain.
I've got a gallon jug of water I drink from to keep track
I don't even move around that much wtf is my body doing with this water
By feeling "dehydrated" do you mean your mouth feels dry? @weary spoke
Lips chapped, idk about mouth dry, pissing yellow, etc
jasmine tea is so good
matcha
What type of tea should i drink to get a lot of theanine?
how can I prevent injury in my clicking finger?
i have very (very) minor pain in a couple of fingers reminiscient of carpal tunnel. this isn't uncommon for me - its unlikely that aim trainer is the sole cause - but would it be worth giving a couple of extra days off or throwing myself right back in once the pain subsides?
@violet swan "a lot" of theanine is the kind of thing you'd turn to a supplement for, but i think green tea is pretty good for it
i want like 100mg or so
you'd need a good few cups of green tea for that, i think
I spent the last two weeks doing 3-4 hours (edit: per day) of Air, UFOs, Ground Plaza, Thin Gauntlet, and Close Fast Strafes at 23.6cm/360 and now my hand hurts where the base of the thumb attaches at the base of the wrist, and if I push on the outside of the thumb (pushing it towards the rest of the hand) I can feel a pain across the entire bone as if it's bruised. Is this normal? How long of a break should I take?
I've also been doing a lot of heavy (3-4 rep range) benchpress and pendlay rows which I think are contributing to wear on my thumb. Do any of you guys have this problem?
my posture mimics shitting in the indian toilet and i feel i play way better when i sit like this than when sitting normal is this fine or should i change my posture?
how can I prevent injury in my clicking finger?
stop using clicking finger 🧠
@flat venture it works with preventing arm farts
Tensing a lot when playing and bad posture could both lead to a sore shoulder yeah?
@vivid basin just conjecture but could have something to do with your grip, I had a similar thing with my thumb before I changed grip.
Yeah I know it's the grip because I was crushing the mouse down into the soft pad for more smoothness in smooth scens and pinching the mouse between the thumb and pinkie for target switching scens and neither of those can be healthy. I'm planning to use much less force, I was just wondering how long I should expect pain
You want to be relaxed when aiming you need to actively try to correct it
how can i prevent burn outs ?, i get burnt out way to quickly. like 2 hours and i am tired af
is tracking practice meant to make my upper arm tired or is there a posture issue here
i did a lot trying to focus on relaxing my forearm and shoulder while not hunching, trying to get good breathing too
kpu good for ftip?
@violet swan take a break? kinda obvious and 2 hours is not "too quickly" thats like a marathon of aiming with no breaks
^^^^
imagine eating lmfao
How does one get up to their full potential in a game? I find that in some games, especially rocket league, I tend to miss a lot of shit. Subsequently, my friends chirp me(“Aj WhY yOu So FuGgIn TrAsH” “yea, aj’s too fuggin trash to hit that” “nvm, aj’s trash”), spam “What a save!” in quickchat, and etc. I know they’re just joking around, but it sucks to never feel like I’m at my full potential.
Two days ago I was hitting shit I would’ve never come up for, and doing 10x better all around. I felt better, happier, and my friend told me after that it made him rly happy that I did so well, and that he was proud.
That was only one day. Instead, it’s part of the norm now that I miss shots continuously and miss saves, as well as not go up early enough.
So that brings me to question: how do I get up to my full potential and feel better about myself and not so self-critical?
People have good days and bad days. Also you could of entered a flow state on some of those shots who knows. Best solution is to keep practicing, also talk to your friends about the chirping thing, sounds like your friends arent much better at the game than you and its not really helpful whatsoever. Could try playing solo for a while or doing private practice (from what I know rocket league has custom maps for practicing ball control, car control and all that stuff)
Other than that patience. (Btw positive reinforcement is better than negative, so try to get your friends to switch over from shit talk to encouragment)
How do I stop getting my thighs being sore when I do kovaaks training
is doing homework and attending classes for 13 hours bad
13 hours sounds like a long time but it depends i guess
I mean, whatever needs to be done to graduate, lol, unless you mean high school, then it is pretty shit, good luck @old bronze
well, that sucks

@eternal dirge vod review. Take note of what you did right and wrong, helps you consolidate for next occasions
The rest is the usual, good sleep, eat, water, take breaks and stretch your legs
When I grip my mouse (claw) my pinky starts to hurt
maybe try a more relaxed claw grip
like between palm and claw
make ur fingers a little more straight
see how that is
im also not sure if my mouse grip is right
i think i have my hand too far to the left
idk how to help u with that through only words
just use whats comfortable and optimal
okay
Is changing mindset possible after 30 years of age. I have lately been overcoming anxiety disorder and depression and it feels like it's time to make some changes regarding my mindset. However I can't really shake old habits off. Do you have any suggestions?

@violet swan have you tried meditation?
I tried but not consistently. I always expect quick results so get bored out of stuff too quickly. It could help a more consistent person but unfortunately does not go well with me.
What type of meditation should a beginner do
meditation is meditation
i mean, why do you wanna do meditation at first
there is different types of meditation either google it or maybe someone more informed answers here but ye
like mindfulness etc idk all types
R u guys trying to become pro players, when I get on to game I just play and don’t take it this seriously, I’m just wondering
yes I am a pro play for G2 liquid esports
I don't try to become pro, I just try to be good and keep my health good so I can enjoy my time on these games for years to come.
@flat venture damn nice
the inverted prayer stretch just hurts, and definitely not in a stretch hurt way
am i doing it wrong or is my wrist fucked
@flint carbon exercise and a good chair for back pain
Core workouts
If working out abs hurts your back you've got overactive hip flexor and stretch them before working it out
Or they could be the cause of your backpack dependant on if its upper or lower
ah so this is why i can't aim https://puu.sh/GCXY1/318d6ee8f6.png
?
@violet swan unironically counseling/therapy is so helpful
can you train to get a better reac time
Not enough for it to be worth it afaik
Health, I’m getting some weird chest pain everyday around 6-7pm. It lasts for a few minutes and it’s been happening for the last 3-4 days
I’m freaking out a bit
Reaction time can be improved by lifestyle factors (especially exercise) pretty significantly from what I understand, so you can get closer to your genetic potential @keen frigate
The difference is probably more pronounced among those with slower or average reaction times
Also @hexed lily I'm sure as hell not a doctor but do you eat a big meal before then? The recurrence makes me feel like it could be heartburn or acid reflux, especially if you're overweight.
okay thanks michael 🙂
I'd recommend checking out some studies
About exercise and reaction time
I vaguely remember seeing one a while ago where subjects improved 10-20(!) ms over a few months by incorporating regular cardio
But I dont want to make any definite claims without checking again
not to sound dumb but i do a lot of cardio already, i play soccer 4 times a week, so idk how i can improve from here
I know diet-wise, choline-rich foods like eggs have shown evidence of improving reaction times
It also can't hurt to practice more reaction time heavy drills
Your brain is stingy and doesnt like to make huge changes fast
But I'd be willing to reckon unless you've specifically been grinding your reactions for a while
You probably have room to improve
i sure hope so 🙂
Especially if there are lifestyle factors to improve (stuff like consistently timed sufficient sleep is super important as well!)
When it comes to gaming I'd be willing to go out on a leg and say fast decision making is a lot more important than simple reaction times anyway and that is a much more learnable skill
As long as you don't have like a 300 ms simple reaction time you will probably be fine, lol
Also @hexed lily I'm sure as hell not a doctor but do you eat a big meal before then? The recurrence makes me feel like it could be heartburn or acid reflux, especially if you're overweight.
@tardy rose hmmmm, that could be it tbh, just weird because I haven't been having large meals anyway. I'm right on the limit between healthy weight and overweight
thanks anyway
If it's super concerning def ask a doctor
I had a streak of heartburn once and it was fairly similar recurring chest pain but it was definitely diet-related, so if yours isn't it could be something different
Oh I missed that message earlier
Diet wise I really tend to eat a lot of fruit and vegetable in general so I never really had issues with that, but being at home more and more definitely makes me eat more of the unhealthy stuff too
i tend to get a mild, persistent headache when i wake up
it lasts until like 2 hours after i wake up
is this normal
meh
could just be dehydration
try and drink a big glass of water as soon as you wake up or something
i drink water before i go to bed and after i wake up
maybe its just grogginess
doesnt affect me that much tbh, just kinda bothers me a bit
do you drink a lot of coffee?
How often should I stretch when aim training?
Let's say I am gonna do a 2 hour session, how often should I stretch there
Anyone got tips to make myself wake up lol, big problem for me is getting out of bed
don't close your blind when going to sleep, let the sun shine on you
have alarm somewhere you need to absolutely get up for
exercise for a deeper sleep
sleep more than 7 hours
better diet
How to stop stress eating?
is it normal that my hands are like 25C all the time
i measured them using an infrared thermometer
actually fingertips are 21C palm 25-27
Getting some interesting questions lately
Is it good if I do the hand & wrist excercises say 1 hr before I go into kovaaks? or should I do it just when I'm about to start practicing
I'm not sure it matters enough to worry about
ey guys how much impact do you think does doing daily workout and excersice?
like impact in-game and with aim
makes you healthier that's obvious, which means better focus
what kind of floss
Ulnar nerve flossing
I have been unmotivated to do everything lately
Like not even motivated to get food or something
Idk what to do ?
have a goal
Miniature goals
Throughout ur day
Even ones that feel super simple
Make your bed, do an hour of cleaning, etc
Feeling the completion of tangible goals by the end of the day will encourage you to wake up the next day and try to make it a good one
Force yourself to try it
Would lifting weights and doing body weight exercises mess up my FPS aim ? Or is there no downside to working out while gaming a lot of hours
@warm flare probably don't game right after
@violet swan so what if I workout in the night like 11Pm then sleep and wake up at my usual time would that be fine ?
The only downside I could surmise is muscle shakiness and fatigue right after lifting. Lifting actually has positive effects on the nervous system long term by improving CNS "signal strength"
Whatever works for you to game when you aren't immediately fatigued should be fine
^
Okay ty so much
does anybody know if its true that ur reaction time gets slower if one starts taking creatine as suppliment?
where did u read this
dk where anymore
i think my soccer trainer said that i get slower if i kept taking it
thx
how much does age affect vrt, can i still be aiming when 80 years old
Am I messing any part of my body up by doing this?
Like there’s no extra pressure on my wrist or anything right? I read that wrist rests weren’t good or something
wrist rests you're supposed to rest your palms on it
how can you tell the difference between normal arm soreness and soreness from stuff I should worry about like carpal tunnel
Have you been doing other activities that could cause your arm to be sore this past week
Carpal tunnel usually feels like a more localized feeling of pain and is usually accompanied with some numbness on the thumb's side of your hand or tingling. I had some of the beginning symptoms once but thankfully got rid of it
Ideal at home exercises? Suggested diets etc. Never asked a question in this server before
Been feeling the difference between when I was at the gym vs now
Don’t mind being @ ed or DMs
Plyometrics are god tier for at-home fitness
Can do em anywhere and you can combine strength and cardio in a small space
post workout shit is best shit.
how far should my monitor be from my face? if its too close my eyes hurt, but if its too far my eyes are straining to see
Arms length from wherever you are sitting works for most people
Just barely out of reach or so
Does aim training help you get steadier hands?
i could get a lot of hours of sleep and wake up exhausted
when I get 3 hours I have a lot of energy mid day but very tired later
any recommendations for hand pain?
lately i've been spending quite a lot of time on the computer from online school and gaming in general
any advice would be appreciated
If you haven't already make sure to hydrate enough, try doing stretches to alleviate the pain and obviously take a break from high intensive hand motions
If you have the option try puty therapy or w.e it's called
it's similar to a stress ball, but it can really help
Those stretches from kastors guide can be good or from Dr levi or hpforgamers
thanks for the advice sini
hydration has been a problem of mine for a while so that could be part of it
I'll check out those guides
Yeah you're more prone to injury when fatigued / hydrated
yea, my posture also isn't the best
Icing or cold water can reduce pain, but can also halt the healing process
So if you do that be careful
i'll try that out, appreciate it
usually only wanna ice it when it's swollen
What is the best posture when arm aiming? Should my elbow touch desk? \

uh bois how to get rid of cramp in index finger
where the finger meets the knuckle
really bothersome
stretch often, goes away with time
Um.. I get pain in my right pinky... im pretty sure its ulnar nerve entrapment and I don't know what to do
it might not be but i dont know what else it could be
Ulnar flossing and stretches
Depending on how bad it is you should probably go to the dr
how would i know if thats it though?
because i think it only gets sore when i straighten my finer
i play like a relaxed claw/palm and it only happens when i make my pinky straight
Try to keep your arm straight
ring finger is completely fine
it only hurts when i put it on my mouse and straighten my finger
and then for a while after
As I said just give it a few days to heal
If you still have issues then I'd go to dr
Id it's not constant and only on your mouse it's probably just strain
yeah
it goes away quickly
probably only like 5min after it starts hurting
but if i do one of the stretches i can feel it pulling, but it doesnt feel like that finger
I get really bad wrist pain when doing heavy overhead press
if anyone has tips lmk
I try to keep my wrists parallel with my forearms but it's hard to hold
I use wrist wraps on heavy sets and do wrist mobility warmup first
hurt hurt or strech hurt?
I'm having trouble with neck pains. Anyone experienced that too and fixed it?
s-health
is there a way I can find a list of injuries in my wrist I could possibly have from playing kovaaks wrong
@mint kindle if your wrist hurts when you stretch it
take a 2 weeks break it should pass
it went away for me not completely but
partially
What to do with eye strain? Any way to lessen it
@austere pasture Night mode could help. Or get a pair of glasses that filter out the blue light. The glasses themselves or normally tinted yellow.
I wear glasses so that part doesn’t rlly work
"Gunnar Optiks" is one of the "gamer" brands for that sort of thing
maybe get a prescription pair? Might be pricey though.
Perhaps
If not, there's software out there that will do similar things
👍
Anyone here on the spectrum? Curious if you find it affects your gaming/aim routines in any way.
Not the mechanical part, but which routines you might lean towards, etc.
@austere pasture u could also look into something like eye stretches or eye exercises
would not recommend gunnar
glasses usa was doing prescription blue light glasses for a pretty good price
I'm sure there's other places you can get prescription computer glasses for a decent price as well
gunnar is way overpriced though. also eye drops are a god send for me
@austere pasture
@hot dune I probably am at least a little bit but I've never been tested or anything. might have something to do with why I improve so slowly relative to others idk
?
u could also look into something like eye stretches or eye exercises
like 6 messages up
fingers are a little sore after kovaaks anything i should do?
strech, check pins
forcing a complete stop to my thumb clenching dealt about a week's worth of progress to my thin gauntlet score but I'm recovering it piece by piece and not giving myself tendonitis. it was worth it
What to do with eye strain? Any way to lessen it
@austere pasture dude just take a rest
why be so hard on your eyes
20 mins nap if u wanna be serious about your vision health
should i force my mouse into the backside of the palm or should it be more loose. I am using somekind of relaxed claw/palm grip. If i push it into the back of the palm it feels steady but not flexible
How do I keep my body calm? sometimes when Im in a fortnite game I tend to start shaking in my fingers a lil bit to where I notice it sometimes my shoulders will feel stiff and shaky as well im not sure if its anxiety or something else is there a way to keep my body calm and steady in a comp match so I dont mess up easy shots and edits and builds?
i think i fucked my fingers up
i cant even play kvk for more than 30 mins without my fingers getting stiff
my middle knuckles are slightly bruised it looks like even tho i didnt hit them on anything
and it hurts to press em
need me a sparky doctor to diagnose me
rip
Just sleept 15 hours, apparently I cant wake up alone because my body is never rested enough
sounds like adrenal fatigue
Whatever it is , it fucks me up
HOLY SHIT MY FINGER IS SO STIFF HELP
don't use it
when I had finger cramps I had to stop playing and go to sleep
gone in the morning
How do i improve my low bar squattinf
just started squatting
my knees are really bad after 10 years of skateboarding
a few things
try pulling your elbows down
they're flaring back way too much
should kinda feel like you're pulling the bar into your back
also you're leaning forward way too much
your form should also smooth out with time as long as you're actively working on it
also you should work on your walkout
@tame fable
Perfect the Squat Walkout
AUTHOR'S NOTE: Always ensure to set your safeties accordingly. Safeties are a fail safe and should not be overlooked when walking out and executing reps!
A great squat set is much more than simply busting out reps. The un-rack, walkout, and re-rack...
Okay, thanks man!
skip to 4:40 for specifics about the walkout
might be worth watching the whole thing though
I will
also I can't tell but it looks like you have running shoes on, the kind with air pockets
if you're able to it might be worth finding shoes with a more solid platform
there's a lot of things to go over but I'd say for now work on your arm position, your walkout/setup, and try not to lean forward as much near the bottom of the squat
but yeah once you get into heavier weights you really don't want squishy sole shoes
form isn't too bad for a beginner
for the first time squatting you're actually doing a lot better than a lot of people
the grip should be close enough and tight enough that you can't even move them after they're holding the bar still on your back & I find the mental cue of "squeezing the core together" is useful to apply even here (at the arms) in bracing, until I applied this I was having back pains at 3 plates
What sort of health do you talk about here?
Do people talk about mental health here alot or not really?
Mostly physical, but I'm sure there's some here that can talk about mental
If no one else does then I dont think I will
This isn't only about aim, but also about game improvement
But if it's other mental issues, better to talk to a professional
Ok thanks
anyone know a real free iq test? im just curious
_ _
@storm plinth lift big weight makes mean voices in head quieter 🐵
working out is very very dope
never felt dis good in my life

what should i do if i have a pain in my wrist for 4 days ago?
doctor
does someone have that pic on what your posture should be like
would greatly appreciate it ty
this one?
yeah i think so tysm @violet swan
it's in the pins btw
dang u are right kevin can’t believe i didn’t check
Is it ok to talk about mental health here
yes
i kinda have a bad habit of taking things too personally, both irl and in-game
if someone calls me retarded in-game I immediately lose any will to play
and then I think about it for the rest of the day
basically I let negative thoughts linged
linger
I feel like I'll get nowhere in life if I keep this up
Idgaf if i get banned, id rather talk to professionals when it comes to such things @desert nova
@desert nova u can message me if u need someone to talk to
i also got some problems im going through rn but if u dont want to talk its also fine
the timing really sucks for me also
to get all these problems
with my exams coming up and i just am not in the right mental place to focus
playing games w my friends is the only thing im motivated to do now
Talking shit back won't help you much, especially if you're not that type of person
Not caring is good
Messing around with them is even better
You can turn something toxic into great banter
It'll be funny for you and the other person will just be upset for no reason
i dont advise being toxic thats just me
Yeah you can mess around without being toxic that's what I'm saying
i always try and be as nice as possible with people so then you get the nicest people as friends
Generally you don't even need to respond anyway
But you can come up with some pretty creative / funny / witty replies
IRL stuff best to ask your family / friends, most random people on the internet won't be able to give you good advice on that
Too much context needed and case by case stuff
and we don't do that stuff in this server
do you guys know if that "test.mensa.no" is accurate or soemthing
cuz i got rresults that im not surre are right lmaooo
ok
if i want to get an accurate IQ test where do I go
just some place when i look up "IQ test near me"
or are there like doctors places
any reason for taking an iq test?
im just super curious about everything
so its just something that would feel good to know about
?
Any good health tips that arent in the faq? Lol
iq tests are best taken with a brick of salt
first time feeling this, but my wrist just has tension in it. This is after using my mouse for a little while.
Nvm i shouldnt have asked here
Anyone go tips for dealing with adhd without drugs?
is it normal for your head to tilt to the left when aim training?
I'm right handed btw
^ my head always starts to tilt to the left when im aim training
no
?
@violet swan no
u shouldnt take any drugs to get better
because u cant use them all the time
caffeine included
once in a while is fine
but not all the time
thats good advice thank you
What's that fasting trick you do to reset sleep / pass out? Am trying to rid myself of my abhorrent 12pm to 5am schedule.

@strong mason sorry for ping

thx @winter abyss

Can anyone help me with these BAD forearm pains I'm getting?
I play with a really light mouse (glorious model D). I always do the proper wrist/arm warmups, room is warm, I keep good posture/desk setup, I take lots of breaks, I train 30-60 mins a day. But I still get really sore forearms or even wrists. I play with 42cm/360 which uses a combo of arm and wrist. I also use a grip that's inbetween palm/fingertip. I've even lost the habit of death gripping the mouse. Sometimes I take a break to recover from pain, but 30 minutes into kovaaks I get sore again. (Edit: Breaks between runs, but also breaks spanning over days to repair)
What the hell can I do to stop this?
I started at Bronze, now at Platinum sparkys. It's hindering me from further getting better at aim
I swear caffeine improves reaction time though
And coffee is like always accessible so surely it would be ok for him to drink
I do like 1 week caffeine 1 without to not depends on it too much
@muted fiber forearm strength exercises or of its actually pain not just soreness consult a doctor
@austere yoke Thank you I'll try this. You're right it's soreness not pain - you might've solved it will post back
@violet swan I've got some knowledge on this. The half life of caffeine is 6 hours. If you drink caffeine only every 48 hours or when you need it, you'll never adjust because the brain receptors won't build up to make a tolerance. This is what I do. Also don't drink it when you don't need it
So i should only drink it every 48 hours?
@violet swan drinking coffee everyday builds up a tolerance to caffeine so you have to take more for the same dffect
oh wait guy above me already said
gg
@violet swan Yeah. I drink it e.g. Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday. And if I don't really need it, I'll even skip a dose - Save it for those 1-2 times a week you really want that kick
But every day, even after just the second day, your body already starts building tolerance. This is because after 24 hours, you still have 6.5% of yesterday's caffeine still in your body
caffeine will decrease reaction over time
at first it helps but after you build a decent tolerance you'll only need it to wake up i guess
thats how it is for me
advice for thinking open minded and staying focused ( like exercises - diets , etc ... ) ?!
no fap day 1 😈
what means no fap?
im day 7 already :D
@mellow void run in the morning, sleep by a schedule, have a planned day, eat healthy, carbs healthy fats proteins, take supplements, vitamins, might work because it did for me, might as well go to gym
crossfit is cool
i can tell u what im doing atm if u are interested
i am pretty advanced by now
anyone getting elbow pain
i get shoulder pain
its if u play games 16 hrs a day on avg with a bad posture
@muted fiber if you play arm/wrist u should switch to wrist only its better i used 43cm/360 now i use 28cm/360 its better with just wrist and more comfortable
@violet swan Were there any cons to this new sensitivity for you?
I thought more wrist would make forearm soreness worse
is it bad if i drink caffeine at 3 and i need to sleep at 11?
depends on how much caffiene but yeah thats pretty bad
Im in school at that time
caffeine at school
@violet swan By 11pm you have still about 45mg of caffeine still in you so yeah bad idea
Lmao. Use weekends for high score/benchmarking imo
Yeah i should
By 11pm you have still about 45mg of caffeine still in you so yeah bad idea
source for calculation?
@winter abyss Caffeine has a half life of about 5-6 hours, if @violet swan is talking about a 8 hour time frame. We are talking about a little less than half. So roughly speaking we could say about 40-45mg, for the sake of his question it's accurate enough to assume it may affect his tolerance/sleep
@violet swan Dude I just tried this sensitivity and you're right it feels so much better! Dropped back to 40cm/360 and could see it was aggravating. Hopefully this solves it! Thank you
Np
@muted fiber no cons I actually improved mostly all my scores
And Ingame my aim is more flicky and reactive
That's awesome! I assume there was an adjustment period? Noticing my kovaaks scores a little lower
You may have just saved my job and favorites hobby 🙏
High sens is pog
@old bronze Pog as in good?
yes
yes
When I am following a target, my eyes sometimes skip to a completely irrelevant direction then snatches back to the target. Does anyone else have this problem. I am thinking of doing eye exercises but do not know where to start. Do you know any good eye exercises I can do? Thanks a lot in advance.
just sounds like a focus thing tbh
I think so, too and I'm trying to improve focus so I thought eye exercises could help.
idk seems like inefficient use of time tbh
what level of training are you at
it could pretty easily just be a product of inexperience
I have 180 hours so far in KvK. I am at around silver/gold level.
I can feel the same problem in games as well. In many cases I completely lose track of where an enemy is for example.
Are you new to FPS games?
No, I have been playing since over 20 years maybe but never seriously.
woah
I don't have any known eye disease either.
@pseudo crest I am 30 😦 Sucks to be a boomer
wow
It can be overwhelming for a long time when you first start doing it proactively. Keeping track of enemies, mini-map, scan the rest of the screen constantly, etc
@last oyster oh that is a total problem as well. I completely lose peripheral focus. I rarely ever check minimap, my health etc.
So, what would you suggest? Should I actively try to focus more?
Albeit, being a teen helps faster learning
Yes
I recommend watching a good Warzone player on Twitch (with facecam)
watch his eyeballs, watch how he opens his minimap and pings something while running
etc
or a video of a pro or a streamer with eye-tracking
He won't be just staring at crosshair, etc
Yeah, eye-tracking is a great idea to check
I say warzone because it's a huge battle royale with low ttk
yh warzone
For a while I watched gameplay with that Tobii eye tracker, for example and people constantly stare all around them. I mean constantly. I guess I am tunnel visioning way too much.
i think so
Yes, it's very overwhelming for some time
i suggest reading an article or smthing like that to remember to not tunnel vision or why we, humans tunnel vision
Sooner or later, it just becomes automatic and a "passive" action, instead of an "active"
Well, really helpful advices, thanks a lot. I am trying to get better at a game of choice so I am trying to focus on as many of my weaknesses as possible. Thanks again, much appreciated.
Checking right now.

Good old shroud to the rescue
Ahaha, that's exactly the video I watched 😄
It works. At one point, he's fighting one guy 10 meters away from him but he constantly checks 3-4 spots on the hill
Check 5:00
someone in front of him but still checks hills. etc
"A seeing gap is caused by observing limitations instead of possibilities. Our emotions and beliefs get in our way — what we see blinds us. Your thinking becomes limited too." oh my, this is exactly what I do. Instead of observing what is happening around me, I tend to think "what if I die, what if I lose the fight" etc.
To me it wasn't the thought of losing, to be honest
Just never really thought about doing it
you might benefit from doing scenarios like cfsei
and focusing on making smooth eye movements
specifically
also good framerate, frametimes, and a high refresh monitor are significantly impactful for this stuff
I have to go but what helped me a lot is playing battle royales because of the huge amount of enemies and big sized map.
Nothing like putting in the hours
doesn't mean you need 400fps 240hz or whatever, but 60hz and sub 100fps is really hurtful
Ok, I will keep everything in mind and try to be more mindful about what is going on around. Thanks a lot @last oyster much appreciated
@silent osprey I currently have a 144hz monitor but framerates are not really desirable. Around 60 to 80 fps is what I get. Anyway, I will do my best to improve. It should get better through practice.
60-80 is pretty awful
imagine me on a 60hz phone screen
it'd be worth trying to optimise your games
mess around with configs or really low graphical options
but going stupid far kind of just ruins visibility making the issue worse
Warzone at lowest settings nets around 70 fps. I don't know what else I can try but I'll see what I can do.
warzone is always gonna run kinda ass
i straight up won't play it because of how bad my fps is in it
reduce render scale if you haven't already
but it will make long range enemies way harder to see unfortunately
though usually at long range you're also not too concerned an immediate gunfight
and close quarters is where that higher fps pays off massively
yeah
I will see what I can do. I'll play a couple matches and see how it goes. Thanks a lot again, you have no idea how much this helps.
ur welcome even tho i didnt do much
yeah there isn't a ton you can do when ur at 60fps other than upright upgrading
but there are obvious issues with that to anyone without a fuck ton of spare income
yea honestly i was playing on a laptop and was only getting 60 frames but if you can, upgrading ram and GPU will help a lot and processor too
also your monitor if its only 60 hz
I got this annoying pain after i play for a bit in the left side of my hand. no pain in the finger or wrist itself just the left side of my right hand where it meets the wrist
not rly sure what to do since i already have a brace and stuff like that
i have a similar problem but its in the right side of my hand
does workout improve aim?
for your health mentally yes
hm ok
@frank grail Be careful with a brace, it's not the solution. Temporary fix if you absolutely have to use a mouse (e.g. for work) to alleviate pain, but long term it'll weaken muscles and make wrists worse
@muted fiber ik that, so ive been doing some strength training to circumvent it
i think its just ive had it on too tight
Oh right. Hopefully strengthening helps. I need it too lol
anyone able to recommend any ergonomic chairs that are good value or available on finance (UK based)
how can i stop losing motivation mid game ?
how do you lose motivation mid game?@violet swan
usually when its a no brainer that the round is over, like i carry this bad mindset for a full gaming session
If you mean a round within a match, never give up as your final struggle can be the one that changes the outcome.
Like in overwatch payload, your final stall, even if the point end up being captured, could make the team have one less minute to push next round, that's an entire teamfight worth of time.
In csgo, whatever you do on a round will definitely impact your next round, so don't just give up, that doesn't mean to go yolo on a bomb site with 4 enemies defending, but just make the best decision you can given the circumstances.
If you mean a round is over as in an entire match, like in COD and enemy just have way too much points. Then stop trying to win that match and start focusing on your own improvement. Focus on your aim, focus on your movement etc. So even if you lost, you still got something out of it
@violet swan ^
i saw before that you should take a break before playing your main game after kovaaks, what are good things to do during that time? and will it interfere with the learning/processing if i do something else while i'm taking a break that involves my brain or is it fine as long as it's not aiming related
mm identify when ur stressing ur brain versus when ur just using ur brain
like stressing ur brain is just gonna leave u scattered when u go to play
but just doing something pretty casual is gonna be fine
as long as youre pretty relaxed both mentally and physically when ur taking a break
okay ty!
Is this grip bad for finger and wrist health?
this is claw grip
Yes i am very aware of that but i have been told that the angle of my fingers and pinky is bad for my fingers, so just wanted someone knowledgeable to confirm
relax pinky and that's good
i finish my game and i send you a vid
If you want control, you need a good grip. I share my thoughts on how I'm able to consistently grip my mouse the same way every time which also helps me aim with precision.

hard as diamonds and ready to click heads
do you guys think it's worth it to switch my mousegrip that I've been using for 5 Years? It's a palm-claw hybrid, but it's really hard to control (bad for small targets) and my Pinky goes into my mousepad which slows me down. Coming from CS:GO and switching to Fortnite I havn't changed my grip once. I got used to that bad grip when I was playing with the Razer Deathadder Elite. But once I switched to the G Pro Wireless (Around 1 Year ago), which was my first ambidextrous mouse, it felt really weird and I could barely control my mouse
not saying that I have bad Aim, I just feel like it could be a lot better
It's probably worth it if you can grip it naturally
I've noticed that a lot of pros play very up close to their monitor and I was wondering if there are any long term health negative health effects on the eye as a result of doing this
Not all pros
So weird question but my wrist started painting yesterday out of the blue
Never had wrist pain for all yrs I've been gaminf could I blame the high sens, or just not doing enough stretches
Might you I did play way more back in the day
And I did switch from pure arm aim to wrist dominated aim
Thansk just trying to find the cause rather than fix the symptoms
I think your wrist started suddenly to see more movement and that caused your pain.
just exercise more with your wrist, at one point it will become normal again
@sharp stag won't cause any long term damage afaik, but it's a good idea to take little breaks to focus on something far away because of the way eyes work, because of that I'm guessing having the monitor further away is less straining for your eyes. Also there's some people (yu) who are insane with the monitor far as well
I have been not following any of my routines and plans lately
And its slowly annoying me
How can i get back on track ?
No idea whether that will help but maybe think about what you do do instead of your routine, and how to do that less? E.g. avoiding interruptions / distractions
s-grip
Good butt pillow for coccyx lower back, do you guys know any?
No idea whether that will help but maybe think about what you do do instead of your routine, and how to do that less? E.g. avoiding interruptions / distractions
sorry for the late answer, i got my shit back together
@rare osprey
Good for you!
is kovaaks still beneficial if you're hella drowsy and not focusing, just autopiloting and playing? because i've been doing my routines before i go to bed
Do it before u get on imo that's what helps me I use it as warm up and practise at same time
is kovaaks still beneficial if you're hella drowsy and not focusing, just autopiloting and playing? because i've been doing my routines before i go to bed
@coral copper it’s going to be less effective for sure
Anyone got a meditation guide for a complete beginner?
@violet swan I actually have no remembrance of what i did for Meditation as a beginner besides that its one of the best things you can ever do. Personally I just sat in a dark room alone and just breathed deep breaths. There are certain breathing strategies some people used. (Never really used them personally) But meditation is the idea of being able to calm you mind quickly. The more you do it the better. But my only advice is just breathe. Also look up guided meditation on youtube for beginners if you want.
Its really something that comes with time.(Started when I was 13)
Desk is a bit higher than my Chair and isn't really level, do you guys know of any fixed that I could do? With my chair being lower, it makes my wrist tilt upward, and makes my elbow impossible to align with my hips.
I think nootrops really improved how fast i process information
yea i dont know if reaction time can like be improved
but i noticed that it improved along with taking them, healthy diet and more water, less coffee

🤔
I don't know if this is the right channel but is there a way I could get a sixth finger to my right hand?
@violet swan lmao
I think having an uneven amount of fingers is bad and having an extra finger would be better than losing one finger.
What?
That's a question for Reddit
Having another finger would be sick

That's a question for Reddit

Does anyone have this problem where your arm is tense and gets shaky when playing kovaaks?
Also, I don't know if it is important, but is having an armrest preferable to not having one?
health question i think my table is too high
so should i a( have seat low but i have to raise my sholders
or b( have my legs dangle
which is better health wise
get a foot rest maybe
i tried making one
didnt help
i used books plus plank
mabye i make it higher idk
pics or measurements
and your foot rest should be angled if you are going to use one IIRC
at least that was the general consensus when I used one a few years back
does drink nothing but water have it's benefits. So far I'm 8 months in of but nothing but water. And I haven't eaten any kind of junk food either.
but I noticed I have been gaining muscle
But I don't even workout
Could somebody explain what's going on. I asked my doctor said she could my genetic traits from my family.
@cedar briar Did you eat junk food prior to this? You're probably not gaining muscle, but instead losing fat which makes your muscles appear more prominent. Water helps process the fat as well
Well no actually I haven't eaten any kind of fast food chips soda or candy in a long time. It's to the point where I don't even remember.
Did you drink soda/hot chocolate etc.?
