Nice
Since I dont really have time for a complete workout, I really would like to only do push ups and pull ups, but sadly my room has low height so I cant really do full pull ups, so I thought about doing them while sitting cross-legged, is this recommended?
Wouldn't say recommend or optimal, but it's better than nothing ig
I mean
Sitting pull ups are harder
I don't know exactly if starting from touching the floor is easier
But if you are doing pullups with legs out
It is harder
Get sand paper and a sander and go at the bone spur, it'll be gone in no time
GG @sour hamlet, you just advanced to level 5 !
Angle grinder would work too, so would a air spinny thingy used in metal shops that I cant remember the name of
I have no idea what it means if it's anything serious go visit a doctor.
Especially with health questions, try and research yourself before asking on the internet.

How can I improve my mental toughness? I often feel anxious to even play games because I become fearful of losing or performing badly
Perhaps I need to go back on anxiety medication

How can I improve my mental toughness? I often feel anxious to even play games because I become fearful of losing or performing badly
@urban grotto Try to take a read from one of our #resources
Mindset & Attitude
Has some useful information
Just a few tips:
- breathe in through nose and breathe out via mouth
Faking confidence
- tell yourself it's okay (it actually helps)
- smile/laugh when faced with challenge (sounds weird, also actually helps)
cold showers can help. Actually sounds bonkers but I think it can help. Puts you in a stressful situation where you need to stay calm. Also big vouch for what sini said. Affirmations can work great!
In addition: don't fear mistakes. They are actually great because they give you the chance to improve and to avoid the same mistake in the future.
@urban grotto

are there any shoulder excersies :mendoHuh:

i have no clue what a blackroll or a tennisball is
well
i do know what a tennis ball is
its the ball they use in tennis
but idk what a blackroll is
If you don’t know what it is you probably don’t own it. Do you have a tennis or a lacrosse ball?

i dont own either

is getting herman miller embody worth it?
No idea what that is could you link it
The Embody office chair increases the physical harmony between people and their technology. It has set a new benchmark for ergonomic seating that supports healthful movement.
can you maybe spare couple of rich on us too (joke)
if you remove arm rests or adjust accordingly it should be good
idk, seems super premium, but unless you sit and try no question imo
@hearty cargo wait for the logitech x herman miller first
is it same price?
can absolutely confirm that
its not announced yet
they only teased it
hope it doesn't have chinese quality their mice clicks or headphones have lol
i wonder price
prolly more than my pc
could, im interested in that chair
if they dont fail
atleast it isnt like razer and hm
^
what do you think gaming chair or office chair?
aren't 1st are 2nd with additional price tag slapped on them?
wdym?
that gaming chairs are just office chairs with additional price tag for being "gamer"
i think that top tier office are plain better
bottom seat of gaming chairs is terrible with raised sides and wrong form of the cushion itself (it's elevated and long, while it needs to be waterfall)
backrest with wings is bad for not-slim people and generally not useful, headrest if office chair does should be equal or better
armrests are useless usually because table takes that function
leaning back usually is better on gaming chair and it's better to lean back up to 135 degrees to reduce disk pressure, but if chair is good i think office won't lose (on budget options it does)
apparently herman miller chairs are good? atleast expensive as fuck man#
idk, i just separated shitty chairs for 50$ which you can see sometimes in films from good quality ones. i don't explicitly state that price == quality
ofc, its never like that
i heard that herman miller chairs are top quality
but ofc expensive
office chairs are really good bc posture and comfort
theres not much reason why u need a gaming chair
is it possible to use too much wrist like mine kinda aches after i play kovaaks for like 3 hours also i feel like i start to fall off after like 1.5-2 hours should i just start taking longer breaks than like say 5 min usually
I personally wouldn’t even play more than 2h max
Probably because you're tensing it a lot, playing a scenario that is very wrist heavy (click scenarios tend to be) or exclusively using wrist when you should be using your arm and wrist interchangeably
@brazen snow
yeah for precision scenarios like 1w6t small tend to hurt my wrist
and yeah i have a problem with actually tensing my arm too but i been working on it
i do better when it’s just completely relaxed 90° just gotta get out of the habit
Yeah gotta relax more
@arctic moat does dragging your arm across pad / putting a lot of arm pressure down into the pad count as tensing up too?
I also suffer from wrist pain on some scens even tho I’m low sens
@trim meteor tension is tension that probably tenses up your arm as well
If it hurts then you know something is wrong
I also suffer from wrist pain on some scens even tho I’m low sens
@trim meteor Maybe you're not using your arm enough or locking it
does that mean up my sens cause I like wrist or use arm@more
do you guys have any advice for cold hands
i still have this problem even after 2h of gaming
i can t fix it
heat ur room
wear multiple shirts/ sth sleeved.
clench your hand into a fist and squeeze multiple times during breaks.
get circulation in your whole body going. stand up and move a bit
good circulation is pretty op generally
well some people have debuff called "shitty circulation" and "if my hands froze they don't unfreeze until you boil them"
if room is warm, go wash hands in warm water for a few, maybe it will help
The circulation is the problem i guess
Cause my room is already warm
And warm water doesn t help
Ty reqq n hellmachine
Yaaas ran 5 kilometres and did some squats, first time in the gym in a year or so
Felt goooood
Hell yeah mate, well done
Grats man
Thankyou!
keep the momentum
Thought I would stay skinny my whole life but age caught up with me
But yeah cardio and lifting is fun so I dont mind rly, just lazy
my knees hurt from reading this thing about running 😦
Ran a 13.4 100m dash
Which was 3rd best for my class in grade 8
But I feel like I could get pretty good with proper running form
Does anyone know how I would go about learning that?
Research on YouTube/google or actually join a track team if you really enjoy it
Yea Im gonna join track
Not sure which events though
Mid/long range would be better for my preferred sport
But sprints are fun
Anyone know an ergonomic chair I can buy on amazon that isn’t more than $200
Herman miller
they don't have chair <500$ tho

btw anyone have kneeling chair?
Wat
that type
i heard they are better for back that flat ones
the bigger type of person especially praise them since this one is heavy lifter and not any chair can hold 225
plus their back is hurting as heck
it seems not comfortable, but i think it is
i read something that said green tea slowly releases the small amount of caffeine in it slowly and consistently over time
is this true? where as coffee just hits u with it like a train
@hollow spade green tea has L-theanine thats why
yea so what if i just take l-theanine 200mg pill instead of drinking green tea, its worse right? cuz green tea has caffine in it too
so tea is prob better
(all this is for anxiety btw)
eat greens
Why do i feel hot all the time
Even rn the ac is on
The fan is at max
And im still sweating and feel internally warm
It's probably still hot, cooling doesn't work properly and there's no proper air circulation in the room. That or you're sick or trolling.
idk how one can feel cold with ac on. that shit is lifesaver
What foods are best for losing stomach fat
I'm considered skinny
But I have a little bit of tummy fat hiding abs
And I have a pretty strong core
It's just like 2 cms Covering it
So the question is
How do I lose tummy fat
Without losing weight in other areas
Not at all.
Tummy is the first place fat gathers.
Thus it is the last place you loose it
Get shredded
Only way to have sick sixpack
For men that is
I assume you are a man
food to lose stomach fat
doesn't work like that sadly
you lose fat equally from all parts, some just have more
Alright
I've heard that for weight loss
It's better to walk for 30 mins on treadmill
Than run for 15 mins
Atleast I've heard that for people who want to lose alot of weight
Does that still apply for losing a little bit of weight?
So this is purely in my own experience. doing anything on the treadmill is purely for heart health. you are doing it more to have healthier organs and blood flow than to lose fat
for weight its going to be purely based on your diet
doesnt matter how much you put into the treadmill if you eat more calories than you burned that day
doing interval is better than both, but generally cardio is not best for weight loss
diet + strength
^ strength is good because it will increase your passive calorie usage just from living your life
you can get a test done i believe that goes over how much you as a person use in calories a day
mine was like 1950 per day on lazy days
of course any more activity and sleep affects that
problem of any exercise is that it will make you generally more passive in other time so it's not just "how much calories you burn per x hours of exercise"
plus those calories are usually somewhat marginal, they help on long run but without diet they are essentially useless for fat loss
I'm already doing weight training
And I've cut out sugar drinks recently
I guess the next step is to stop eating out
^
yes
you can make the same stuff at home and its considerably better
and you have more control of what is in it
I also want to start getting in really good running shape and perfect my running form
Because I'm actually quite fast for my age
My first ever 100m I got 13.4
But I've heard that it can ruin your weight training gains
just don't go super crazy on running, be considerate of your knees
Yea
I already do a ton of running with soccer
But Im à goalie
So I do less than most
yeah it comes into what kind of muscle you want to build
running will build a more lean muscle that isnt as powerful but can go forever
and vice versa for weight training
its just about finding a balance for what performance you want
i dont know enough to know how it exactly works or the terms used, but that is how it was explained to me when i asked the same thing
ay if anyone needs help with long distance running, I have a background in it
GG @toxic meadow, you just advanced to level 1 !
anything from stretches, training, etc
I'm deciding if I do long distance or short for track rn
Not sure
Got 2 months to decide
wtf can i do against backpain? im desperate
doctor
posture
exercises
rest
also check if bed is good
don't sleep on stomach mostly, side is ok if you have good setup, back is default for backpain, but you better have a bit harder than softer surface.
Get one of those "wavy" pillows. Neck support pillows or w/e.
Make sure your mattress has the right hardness, or your "slatted frame" (Lattenrost) is adjustable.
Good chair is also p important.
That Ikea Markus chair is already better than most office chairs.
A fascia roll or gymball can also help relieve some stress on your spine
I mean I'm only 21, but so far I can't complain about any issues with all that stuff that I just mentioned.
it’s really just dynamic though. You should look at what in your life stresses your back the most, and stretch that. It also could be from tightness from somewhere else. (Although this is opposite) I remember having a very tight lower back, that actually lead to me straining my hamstring
wavy pillows are usually for side sleeping tho, but they are awesome i heard
if pain is hard consider trying kneeling chair too, they are going easier on your spine than flat ones
First unassisted chin up today 💪
Very nice
Good stuff, Jitter 💪🏽
nice
POG
Well some people put like half their forearm on the desk
But
Think that's subjective
A good rule of thumb I believe Ins mentioned before was when you sit in your chair with your arms straight down...
Your elbow should be at the same height as your desk
If anything slightly above desk height at least. Anymore or less and it will start to affect shoulder too much
I've heard that you need to hit every muscle group twice a week
If I hit it twice in 8 days
That should be fine yeah?
is ther a pic of how to properly sit
Here are 5 ways I've improved my computer desk ergonomics.
Sitting at my desk used to be a painful experience. My wrists, back, and legs would all ache day after day. There's a lot of advice from several different sources on proper desk ergonomics but not all "experts" seem ...
fuck
my desk is a little too high
and my chair doesnt go higher
no wonder it always felt akward
anyone got some generic adjustable desk recommendations
I would recommend you guys listen to this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZFhjMQrVts
Taken from JRE #1439 w/Michael Osterholm:
https://youtu.be/E3URhJx0NSw
This is fine
fucking end me
to straighten it i have to touch my ear with my shoulder
i know its not fine
and if i move closer
i have to chicken wing it
and sit cross legged
or at an acute angle
that and my back and neck are starting to be fucked

FOR GAMERS
hell yea
its free real estate
Do you guys do anything to prevent sweaty hands?
Some german sweat youtubers (that's the term in germany, yes) invented something like that aswell
"Gamer Grip"
thank you guys 😄 hate the name but will def give it a shot 🙂
There are also some other antiperspirant lotions as well I found
easiest fix is to just have a cloth towel on your desk and wipe your hands every few minutes
while doing that you can do some wrist stretches aswell
Yeah i've tried that but my hands still are sticky even after wiping them
Washing my hands only works for like 5 minutes
ah i hate my sweaty hands
Maybe there is a better kind of towel I could use hmm
Get a mouse with holes in it 🤔
Yeah i have the model O 😦 Just anxiety probably
https://www.officeworks.com.au/ someone find me good chair plz
Officeworks is Australia's largest supplier of office and stationery products at low prices everyday. Buy online or visit our stores now
@formal lotus i just bought a really nice chair by just going into a store
and siutting in every chair there
and picked the best
They all kinda ass tho
Anyone know any good alternative to coffee that has natural caffeine?
Green tea
Is it good? @worthy cloud
I like it
I can also vouch for black tea. really tasty with a little bit of milk!
also it is supposed to have positive impacts on cerebral blood flow which sounds really beneficial for every brain related activity
https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0965229917300183
@bold crane i usually drink matcha with nothing else its really really good for your health, it tastes really clean and pure and gives you energy like caffeine but without the anxiety, i strongly recommend, it also has anti carcinogenic properties so if you can implement it into your diet you wont regret it, that stuff changed my life
GG @simple delta, you just advanced to level 1 !
@simple delta do you have a picture of the package just so I know what I’m looking for?
Alright cool thank you gonna get some next time I go to the store
@bold crane it helps to watch a video of someone preparing it, depending on how you want it, it can go in drinks you can mix it with milk or whatever when i have it i have it quite thick and with quite a small amount of water
just make sure you whisk it thouroughly
that its consistent and not clumped at all
Okie dokie gonna have to be water for me or oatmeal milk cause milk kills me apparently
Bread works for me
food XD
Also mint gum helps settle my stomach
But I always take some pepto because puking gives me massive anxiety which leads to more puking and pepto helps me keep it down
Some people punch their abs or hurt them
To condition or smth
Does that help before you have abs
Or once you already have them
i gotta put my dpi at 400 to browse with amphet withdrawl shakeys 😔
@nimble cipher
afaik
thats only used for martial arts / fighting
so they can take more shots
Yeah it's just bracing practice
Same reason dudes shin kick stuff over and over
Useless if you're not fighting
Also everyone has abs, whether you can see them or not is all diet, not training
Life would be pretty weird if people didn't have core muscles
Until they trained for them
Youtube is your friend @nimble cipher
i'd say the book "Convict Conditioning" is the best place to start. you can find the basic routine for free, or the ebook if you're broke

HEALTH
Might have to quit going to the gym due to covid
I'm close to just ordering whatever weight equipment I can get on Amazon
Why are good cardio machines so expensive
yeah they closed the gym at my school
dont want to buy a membership somewhere else
might be time for gamer mode
i never put a face mask on the same day i use a scrub
idk personally i feel like my face would get really dry
just follow patrick bateman i guess scrub then face mask
i have the sniffles and 2 fingers on my mouose hand hurt. should i call a dr.
Yes. Mouse hand hurting is a precursor to the ‘rona virus @strong mason
Lol. Rip to you
@alpine ferry scrub then mask then moisturise
How much caffeine is commonly in one cup of just normal coffee?
My wrist is starting to hurt when using my keyboard, would getting a wrist wrest solve the problem?
Rn i just place my wrist on my desk i dont have a large mousepad so im resting my wrist on the bare table
it's worth at try, I use a folded towel personally.
@jolly kiln it works amazing lmao
That's good to hear!
I got a good home workout setup going
kinda
a set of resistance bands, a way to mount them to the top of a door frame
and adjustable dumbells
can't really do any strength work with this weight but I got a good pump going
quarantine pumps to keep the virus away

+1, the powerbar 2 is really good. as long as you have an appropriate doorway.
i am now really sad now that Nymach roasted me so hard that ive been concerned for my health and don't know what i should do any advice.
GG @violet swan, you just advanced to level 2 !
that guy is really mean @violet swan
i agree
Is it bad to take all of your supplements at the same time?
Probably not a good idea to take your supplements at the same time
You should read the info on it and see if it says anything about that
Ask the pharmacy or your doctor
friendly reminder to any friends in here taking mood stabilizers
depends on the supplements
caffeine doesn't mix well with any of them
I take all mine after breakfast
Yeah it depends what supplements
but I just take vitamins and other basics
Most vitamins you can just take together
100mg caffeine, 100mg ltheanine, and some ginseng. 500mg gaba, some omega 3s and multi b vitamins
I’ve been taking them at the same time for several days but I have been taking day(s) breaks in between
When do you guys think I should take them?
if you're taking caffeine then I'd say take it before you need it
like before gaming/workout
or just when you wake up
vitamins have after eating
i used to play above 40cm for about a year in fortnite
but i switched to higher sens for a few months, now i cant go back because it hurts my shoulder
will the sh oulder pain go away if I stick on low sens?
my right hand palm hurts so much after switching from ec2b to air58
probably not used to ambi shape yet
give it some time, do some hand exercises
how to get rid of pinky finger pain
GG @violet swan, you just advanced to level 2 !
kiss it better
or yk, just give it a break and stop gaming for a while
maybe look up some stretches
Make sure you are not gripping too hard, and that your mouse is the right size for your hand in the first place.
Shouldn't get pinky pain with correct setup
Hey guys i just recently transitioned from only arm aiming to wrist/arm aiming. I love the control that i have in terms of raw aim but I feel like my wrist gets very shaky. Is this normal at the beginning of using your wrist to aim. I'm assuming so but i just want to make sure! I do have a relaxed grip on the mouse as well!
GG @grim cairn, you just advanced to level 1 !
@grim cairn how do you "start aiming with your wrist" all of a sudden
changing sens
Did you change sens?
Josh Oyen helped me out after watching me do some aim training
I mean even then u can just plant ur wrist and only use arm for big turns I gues
Yes, i went from 30.7 cm per 360 to 27.3
i did it for 5 months lol
like i would have to actively try to not use a certain part of my arm while using such a universal sens
I recently swapped from ps4 last year so i had to try to teach myself how to aim and i took advice from the wrong people
i mean
obvsly a certain part of your aim can be less developed
which is prob what you mean
in that case
One thing i'm still kinda figuring out is where are the contact points be on my arm/wrist.
if you start practicing specifically to improve that part
its normal that you arent smooth at first
Yeah, thought so! Its brand new to me so i'm sure i just need time
"contact points" you mean what part you put on the table/pad ?
Yes
Yeah my elbow is off
usually the point of contact for me would be about 2 inches from the elbow
then i just put the rest of my arm flat on the pad
usually the point of contact for me would be about 2 inches from the elbow
tbh i dont think that rly matters
personal preference
like how far your elbow is away from the edge of your table wont greatly influence your aim
alright good, and how about the wrist? Do i just rest it as well ?
it probaply wont at all
I agree with that
i fingertip, so my palm is off my mouse and my wrist rested on the pad
i mean depending on how you claw
like how far up your palm wrests on the back of the mouse
you could lift your wrist of a bit
but i'd say most ppl just rest their wrist on the pad
fuk is pincer claw grip? @grim cairn
Does anyone have tips or resources for working on general work ethic?
make a list of things that u need to get done and once u complete that list of things reward urself whether it be with video games , eating out, taking a nap, etc
Does anyone have tips or resources for working on general work ethic?
@violet swan A checklist can be very nice, microsoft has a daily checklist called 'microsoft to-do' iirc
what jazzdad said can also help 😄
Thank you! @violet swan
Hi @grim cairn
Haha kevin! Whats up my guy
GG @grim cairn, you just advanced to level 2 !
np
holy crap, i never knew i mainly use a pincer grip lol
but i don't contact my whole thumb like that
a good office chair
adding "gamer" means they can double the price
I want an rgb office chair
question about diet since this whole quarantine thing i havent been eating as much, can this the cause of my lower enegry?
might be
@violet swan I recently got the herman miller aeron chair and i fucking love it. Its a little pricey but definitely worth it!
@grim cairn is it only comfy when your sitting correctly
Thats tough because i focused a lot on posture so i tend to always sit correctly
hmm
I think the embody might be more ideal for me
I sit too weird too much
how did you work on posture?
man the aeron is so expensive
i was thinking about it too
like out of my pricerange tho
A couple things, i grew up really fat and had the worst posture. So after i became a gym rat i focused on a lot of back exercises! The exercises made the biggest difference. You do have to know and actively try to fix your posture daily for this to work though. To top it off i used to arm aim at a low sense so if i slouched even a little bit i would aim a lot worse!
@violet swan
I was sold on the embody chair but the way i wanted it speced it was about 700 dollars more than the aeron. I also talked to their reps and they said they are working on a gamer focused embody chair and i have a strange personal issue where I need to have the best trim offered for something. So i knew if i got the embody chair i would always regret not waiting for the gaming version. Its stupid but it also made sense to just be smart and get the aeron
I've used the aeron for about 5 months now and my dad has used his for 3 years and both are GREAT. Easily my favorite pc purchase of all time
do your face pulls
tbh I use a secret labs titan
I wonder how much better a herman miller would be
by far better
maybe i'll get the gamer embody
I couldn't find a herman miller in my price range though
I'm considering taking the arm rests off my chair
so I can actually play guitar without sitting on just the front of the chair
the gaming stuff is launching soon
they partner with logi for it
yeah
but is it wireless
chair
lightspeed
idk i just bought this titan labs last year
and it feels alright
just kinda creaky and noisy
it's not uncomfortable
it better not be xd
I can't spend money on chairs
gotta upgrade the home gym setup
who knows when gyms will reopen
yup
dude this slim woman
had to carry all those fucking weights
through our yard
to the door
she was dieing xd
Kevin I gotta show you my weight set 😄 Its old but it works
does playing with my keyboard 90⁰ tilted affect my health?if so,what are some things i could do to prevent it.thank you!
other than breaking ur wrist
only way to avoid it is to not
shouldnt be too bad
if u feel pain stop
if u dont feel pain just remember to strech
Don’t like bend ur wrist so much to the point where it hurts
You can just port your elbow differently and still keep your keyboard tilted but not like fully tilted
oh,thats great!my wrist doesnt hurt, thought it could be something i couldnt feel, thank you!
@blazing apexcan you reccomend me some stretching exercises?thank you!
i dont really do any but im pretty sure theres some in this channel
📗 Wrist stretching & Posture guide
by Kastor
https://bit.ly/2u8zZaF
yeah there we go
thank you so much!
You guys stretch both arms / hands or just your right / aim arm?
both
more wont hurt
your keyboard arm is always stuck in the same position for long time
also isnt healthy
it gets little to no movement but needs to stay in the same position for hours on end
@edgy totem stretching your keyboard arm and especially fingers is important too
You should stretch symmetrically yeah
Best not to assume that there's tightness only on one side
Either way, there will always be some need to stretch your whole body; quite the good habit to get into
Does anyone have any tips for stopping shaking? It's holding me back so much
my wrist has been hurting a lot for the past few days, and I cant really aim well because of it. Does anyone have any tips for making sure my aim doesn't go to shit without making the pain worsen?
Take care of your wrist first then worry about your aim and what not
Read Kastors wrist & stretch guide
pinned in this channel
also Dr Levi's wrist exercises are good too

100 percent, my wrist started hurting and I took a 2 day break doing Kastors stretch guide everyday since and I have not gotten wrist pains again.
Not worth risking permanent damage over video games
@hollow spade Lower your sens, or if it is low enough do aimer7 smoothness routine
Today i woke up and my Hypothenar muscles are feeling a little weird
Its usually what i tense up when im going for precision or in harder scenarios
Should i care about it or just ignore it because its the result of the tensing
stretching is never a bad idea and u dont lose anything from it so i would play it safe now rather than have to worry about it becoming a problem later haha
@chrome kiln I’m currently taking a day break aswell. Just wondering, did you come back getting better scores/having better mouse control?
Yea
This question might not make sense nor it might not matter... what are the pros and cons to cracking your hands/fingers. Do pros do it? Does everyone do it?

nothing bro
anyone elses elbow crack a lot?
‘tis
Isn’t it best not to crack them a lot? Like just ignore the urge to crack? Or should we crack our arms and wrists
i feel like doing streches and not playing kovaaks alot helps a ton
like if ur gonna play vaks while tryna fix ur wrists just play a lil bit and take a good break i think its helping me
ima be optimistic
is freezing cold showers better for aiming (i have shakey hands btw)
or is Hot shower better
Freezing cold showers are shown to boost metabolism and fat burning
But
It sucks
is freezing cold showers better for aiming (i have shakey hands btw)
or is Hot shower better
@hollow spade No there is no correlation here
This question might not make sense nor it might not matter... what are the pros and cons to cracking your hands/fingers. Do pros do it? Does everyone do it?
@violet swan I am not entirely sure about this, best to ask a specialist or do proper research on the internet. But I doubt you should do it often, and I think it differs per person.
Should i care about it or just ignore it because its the result of the tensing
@violet swan If it results in pain yes. And if u notice the tension is making your hands / fingers / arms sore then stop. Health first.
Alcohol bad no alcohol
My neck hurts, is it my posture? I feel though I sit straight. Idk what to do
Mine too lol. Also my shoulder
your back may be straight
but your neck is probably sticking out
look up forward head posture and see if it applies to you
My desk height is a bit short too
Lower your chair then
@hollow spade cold showers/baths are usually for athletes who do hard, intense training session it helps relax their muscle after training and can prevent injury (im no expert but this is what my boxing coach told me so i do them aswell for that reason)
@inner sentinel if your monitor is height adjustable, raise it
my shoulders are super rolled forward from gaming and boxing and thats the only posture thing i have noticed about myself
i'd have to say i have pretty good posture for sitting at my pc for 10+ hours everyday, something i have done ever since i was little is just to straighten up my back every once in a while like fully stretch it out and doing simple back cracks. try to just flex out your back in your chair every once in a while
GG @violet swan, you just advanced to level 4 !
keep your head straight and dont make it so you have to look down on your monitor, i see a lot of csgo players do this for no reason
like this
by having proper desk and monitor height
Right, just stand up and play.
yes
What exercises can I do to warm my arm up?
omegaL0L
i need it to warm up for speed training
rotate your arms in wide motions around your body
but be careful
not that you lift off!
👍
yeah pretty much what @violet swan said. Don't do anything too intensive
Whenever my shoulder hurts I just crank out 30 pushups right there and it somehow works
GG @inner sentinel, you just advanced to level 2 !
ceo of 4 inch vertical
Fr
should your elbow lay on your desk ? also I was wondering, I use something between palm and fingertip grip. I will often the lowerpart of my palm touch the mousepad and not only the mouse. I feel like this is kinda weird and make extra drag that is not the same everytime, I feel this especially when having to hit dots that are lower than my crosshair... thoughts ?
ye same
I guess im overthinking it then, I just feel like I can't control even short distances flicks consistently. I'll just play more 1w2ts
thx
Anyone got tips on diet?
jk but u gotta find a diet that works for you
Yeah I'm trying to
when it comes to abs, the most important thing is being in a calorie deficit
I think intermittent fasting is not for me
you gotta burn more calories than u consume
yeah thats rlly good
you just gotta make a chart of some sort and keep track of what you eat
and write down calories for everything
and i mean literally everything
and you gotta work out based on how much calories you consume
more calories more exercise
etc
yeah thing about abs is that everyone has them
you just gotta lose weight and become lean
so they actually show
but you also have to workout to increase them in size ofc
Today I had roughly 1500
Which is about normal for me
That's actually pretty good
yeah thats a good place to start
you just gotta try and burn at least 1500
So add like 300
and slowly you gotta start decreasing in calories
like 100-200 calories over the span of a month
but continue to burn 1500-2000 calories a day
and youll get lean rlly fast
I'm like 14
aight thats great
I haven't weighed myself in a while
whenever you are in puberty, you can lose fat and gain muscle like CRAZY
But like 115 5'4
dont worry about that
just gotta stick to a regimen and youll be golden
when i was 14-16, i went from almost obese to underweight in the span of 2 yrs
just by playing a shit ton of basketball
so if u do an actual workout regimen youll be good
Yeah I do
thats good
its a good thing you havent quit
when i was younger and i still do have problems with motivation
so i can never stick to somethign
Running is a chore
yeah lol
ooh
goalie is nice
when i used to play soccer i always wanted to be goalie
but im pretty sure ive always had the reaction time of a sloth
Its so much fun
so that didnt help
so i was always defender
but ngl i was an amazing defender
no one got past me
Nice
Had people like that last year
We were a really good team but choked in playoffs
Being small is actually pretty good at a young age
well dont worry about height if ur only 14
My positioning and technical work is miles above the tall keepers
Yeah I think Im on track for like 5'11/6
went from 5'4 to 5'10
Damn
yeah just gotta wait
yeah ur good man just keep up the work ur putting in now
I deeply regret not ordering a barbell and rack and plates a couple weeks agi
now everything is sold out
completely
and gyms won't open for a month minimum
I can feel my strength evaporating every day
I'm gonna try putting all the heavy stuff I can find in a backpack
and do squats and pushups
thats exactly what i do ^
i have friends that are using a couch for leg presses aswell lmfao
I was lucky enough to buy basic stuff like a bench/dumbbells, definitely missing the gym though. This staying at home shit is ruining all motivation for me anyway.
My motivation for cardio is at an all time low
Just run.
Man i really wanna go for a run but I can't
I need to find some other way to do cardio
bike
Ahah
I have a footwork ladder
But I don't know enough good drills to have 20 mins worth of exercise
Would just be me doing 2 drills over and over
WAtch some youtube vids 🙂 I bet you could find tons
If you have a treadmill you could watch TV or netflix or something while on it
@nimble cipher wht about skipping/jump rope
^ You can do cool tricks and stuff 😉 watch a rocky or something while doing it - or try to keep up to a bpm of a song or somethin idk
I know i really shouldent be tensing at all
But are there any good forearm stretches because they get a little tired after tensing for a bit
Does anyone know why whenever I try to flick fast I get pain in my upper extensor muscle? It's feels strenuous too, going faster than like 1 kill every second
do you do any sort of stretching before gaming?
How important is diet and sleep schedule for aim?
Cause rn I sleep from 3 to 11 and eat whatever I want when I want, since my metabolism is very fast my body can keep up and I don't gain weight
If I change this will I improve faster/aim better. I know that my overall wellbeing will be better too
How important it is, is quite relative
For instance Masaato is pretty damn good at tracking but his diet was/is horrible
Having a good sleep schedule and diet is good for your health and can/may improve your performance significantly
Good sleep is pretty important for your learning ability
@unreal totem I know that's not really the answer you're looking for, but this is the most honest reply you'll get for my pov at least
Just eat and sleep well and you dont even have to worry about it, ez fix
what's interesting is seeing how eating better and having healthier habits improved my VRT. i used to stuck around 190-200 ms, and these days i can get ~160 ms when i'm in a good condition
is it normal for my arms / wrist to tire after I play one or two challenges?
which scenario?
i doubt it
Should i get rid of my arm rests on my chair if they dont fit under my desk for a healthy posture?
It influences my aim as my arm is like >90 degrees
More like 80
70
i mean if you feel like it's not benefiting you then sure
I took my arm rests off for that exact reason
Couldnt sit close enough to my desk cause they didn't fit under it at unless I lowered my chair alot
I'm gonna do this today... It never occurred to me but my armrests are annoying as fuck and I don't use them.
gj i'm proud of you 🙂
I feel like for those who dont enjoy sports, or have more interest in video games, competitive fps's are good hobbies if kept in moderation
Personally I used to game heavily before and then i quit cold turkey but that didnt make me a better person. I read a bit more but i also developed a dependency on alcohol to have fun
Video games were the only hobby i had and once I lost that, it killed a lot of drive in me to do anything. I just became a really low energy person
Idk im just feeling a bit sentimental atm but I think gaming is fine. Kovaak isnt fun but the grind feels great.
Thx for listening to my ted talk
👏
@oak orbit did removing the armrests have any bad causes?
Not at all
Fine
Is there anything you can against sweaty hands
towel
my friend has a huge sweating issue
i told him to spray my gold bond spray on his hand and it worked
idk how healthy that is tho
+1 for grip tape
whats grip tape?
is it actual tape that you put around your hands
u put it on ur mouse
I bought 'lizard tape' I believe. It's normally used in sports to grip a bat or something. One side is adhesive, cut some shapes and stick it on your mouse
how long does it stay on
GG @violet swan, you just advanced to level 7 !
and is it like really sticky?
ye it's hard to take off pretty sure
feeling very tired lately, any tips anyone has for getting good sleep at night?
It definitely impacts my motivation to do things that I want to do.
Like even right now I feel very lackluster going through my routine even if I want to do it.
There are certain types of food that are good for sleep
Decaf green tea is good
Pretty basic website, but these may actually help
https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/9-foods-to-help-you-sleep#section9
Also using night mode on your phone & pc
Getting off any digital stuff 1h ahead of time before sleeping can help you sleep faster too
And thinking of dreams in itself unironically helps you fall asleep faster
@arctic moat
thanks
No problem
Also to wake up easier
You can use sleepyti.me
That website helps you wake up after sleep cycles
ah yes circadian rythm timer right
I should start using that
Actually
you set alarms based on that?
You go to bed at a certain time & set alarm based on that yeah
O rly
Yes really 😉
anyone have experience with Ashwagandha?
my wrist has been starting to hurt only when aimtraining. I've tried to fix my posture bit i feel like I'm limited by my maximum chair height and desk height.
@prisma urchin i have that problem too. I sit on a cushion to get my arm closer to 90 degrees when its on the desk
i still dont know how to fix my neck posture without shit tons of pain
like when i try to do some of these exercises for my neck my vision gets blury
and it just hurts a ton

@hollow spade I like Ashwagandha. I take it in my stack
Is there anything that I could of fucked up with me in the past smoking weed?
Like 1 year ago
@wild grove u should try to relax for a few days maybe take a break from gaming till ur neck feels a bit better?
anyone have pudendal nerve
We all have them, I hope
Oh, pudendal nerve damage?
How long has this been happening?
standing desk
Are you able to consult a physician?
Fair enough. Your dad, did he recover?
yes
Good
Is your dad still around?
next to me
He's been through this before, what did he suggest you do?
Yeah that's still gonna be uncomfortable..
idk how to offset the pressure
off right under my butt
and i just want to practice for valorant
but i cant
my #1 problem is my hand/arm/wrist shaking when im aiming and i WISH i could fix it
ive done so many smoothness training scens in kovaaks and it doesnt help at all so idk what to do now to attempt to solve this
I don’t shake for a tiny bit then I start to shake it’s so weird
@ionic mist how do u put effort into not shaking tho?
Do I put more pressure on my mouse? Or less? Or what
its a mental thing
its just psilent
if i start drinking green tea daily, will it make me shake less?
i feel like it would cuz it might calm my hyper ass down
it could
but a balanced diet and proper rest could also do it
also i found out i shake when i game if i am dehydrated or am hungry
just make sure u always drinking water
with a small amount of caffeine in green tea you won't probably get any plus there's l-theanine inhibiting some effects of caffeine nah
I'm struggling to get to sleep regardless of how much I'm working out and how early I put away the devices and regardless of how much melatonin I'm taking and it's negatively impacting me in more than just my aim is there anything that I can do to just get to bed
i drank about 2 sips today of water
@hollow spade Healthy lifestyle can help you shake less of course, drink enough water, exercise and consume effective nutrients
Green tea is good, but it won't stop you from shaking if you're having lack of sleep, too much caffeine or dehydration
I'm struggling to get to sleep regardless of how much I'm working out and how early I put away the devices and regardless of how much melatonin I'm taking and it's negatively impacting me in more than just my aim is there anything that I can do to just get to bed
@junior geyser
Certain food that may help you fall asleep better if consumed in small amounts
Also using nightmode / filter it adds warm colours to your screen
So your body doesn't stop producing melatonin
And put your mind at ease, and sort of 'dream' while laying down in bed
