Well, @worn wagon the issue with me was that when I had the chance to play at what was the highest tier league in the region (Giants Showdown, cringe name) I was in a team where I had to IGL and coach which led to me being overwhelmed during a lot of games. That made my already average at best performance (mostly due to poor mechanics, my gamesense is the only thing anyone used to compliment) even worse and it led me to have a lot of confidence issues, I just didn't feel I belonged even if my team was still supportive. I've always had a bit of a low self-esteem, so that whole combo was terrible and I ended up asking to become 6th

My mouse control was awful, by awful I mean I couldn't track people strafing in Apex even, which really showed and trying to work with that while micromanaging 4 players meant that I wasn't really comfortable and able to focus on playing well most of the time. The reason why I say that sparky helped is because I still think I was up there in terms of everything that didn't involve moving a mouse. I play against these people in ranked, played a bit of TMs and I know for a fact that I can hang out at that level in terms of awareness and overall gamesense; you gotta trust me on this one, but all I can say is that the only reason I got a spot in the teams I played was because of how I could help in terms of making strategies, adapting them and overall IGLing.

For me it was really a matter of losing fights I shouldn't be losing. Watching countless vods and comparing with teammates and other players made me realize that I was simply not being able to capitalize on enemy mistakes as I should. I would lose fights were I had the superior angle; I would have to back off from fights and avoid being the one in position to spearhead because I couldn't trust my overall 1v1 skills; I would mess up easy refrags; etc.

Not saying that now I'm a EU T1 player, but I've definitely taken the time to improve my weakest aspect. I've always been very analytical and critical of how I played, and I've gone through this a ton of times and trust my own judgement. We'll see how things turn out in the future, for now I'm just playing with some friends from the scene and seeing what we can do in the future.

Either way, I'm glad I was able to prove myself that I can have good mechanics and that it's not 100% genetics like I used to think. And even if comp doesn't work out in the end, I'm a better FPS player in general and I can enjoy other games now that I don't get clapped

In granit(I coached them through nordic groupstage(they won 1 bo3 in finals and are now in CL) I had a player who was not good mechanically in terms of mouse control. He slayed people.
