I die to bs and our round is crippled
I get flamed for this of course because I singlehandedly lost us the round
But the fact I die to bs loses us the round shows how much power utility has over the round
And in this game where it's so so inconsistent it just takes a lucky headshot or a no sound c4 to win the round
Not the case for other esports

Apac is very pathetic in the sense they try to play the strategy/linear style but they dont have the experience most often and their strats are copy pasted from pro league
Also there are very very few competent igls
And if there are they must find players who have their same vision of siege and experience with their igl style
So in a region like apac with a small talent pool its very hard to make a team in a unified style while also being talented

I feel like the game is at its crossroads between adaptability and strategic adherence because utility is so powerful
It dictates the round most often so quickly rotating utility/players, changing operators and taking chances with big plays as well as using busted strategy to cheese the win is all part of comp now
Ubisoft needs to make a decision on where they want to game to go because just watching pl recently where youre fighting utility far more than player is a bit stupid
And if a single bit bs happens the utility is overpowering and its hard for even pl teams to recover

Takes control of players ingame by being vocal and understandable, knowing what to do for every execute/strategy in this game, being a good motivator and not overcomplicating their calls

@night radish IMO, a good team will have a certain set of strategies for each site both for def and atk and the IGL is the one in charge of choosing at first. During the round it's more about being the one in charge of calling if a rotation is needed on atk, if a more aggressive/passive def is needed, etc. A lot of teams split this role and you have different people IGLing different times of the round or even atk vs def
Also it's about having a person who others will listen, which reduces time wasted during the match, even if the call made isnt' necessarily the right one. Basically just having one person in charge relieves everyone else from thinking too much
