Since her win condition is grappling onto you, you need to adjust your positioning to accommodate for that.

If you vod review and basically review every fight and pick out why you got jumped or died or whatever and think about what you could have done differently, you'll start to get a better feel for things and improve.

Mostly, it'll be about respecting specific heroes +cool downs and playing around that, but sometimes you're just too far forward or too far backward or didn't pay attention to if your team was pushing in or running away

If they can't ult you, they can ground pound you, and if they can't do that, they'll 1v1 bully you with gun during early / mid game

It's the best way to learn / get better at the game.

Imo, aim is the single most important thing to practice, once you have good aim, everything else is just much easier to get better at

you have more room for error on positioning, and can practice/do more risky movements, which means you get way more value out of improving game sense and vod reviewing

whereas if your aim is bad, it doesn't matter how much you vod review, you can be in the best position possible, and play perfectly, but still get few kills or low value because you are just not hitting enough shots

and that can even lead to incorrect conclusions that are detrimental to your game sense, you might think "damn, I overextended here" when you infact didn't, but just missed so many shots that the enemy felt they could ego chal you and win

or you couldn't take advantage of proper timing windows, like peeking someone while you are low HP, but they are reloading, only they don't die and turn on you. That would 100% be the correct play if you had good enough aim to kill them during that window

and watching the replay you could easily draw the wrong conclusion and determine that you should've tried to run and reset (which 9/10 times will just result in them pushing around the corner and shooting you in the back and killing you anyway)

Just picked a random message to reply to but do you watch any higher rank people play? I don’t think aim is the issue especially with a character like drifter. If just a single “pellet” of his hit the enemies take full damage

Watching someone with a higher level and slowing down clips and analyzing their decision making or even better watching a video of said person discussing their decision making and attempting to replicate that is a huge game changer.

Even with gold level aim you can destroy someone if they make better decisions.

If you’re falling off late game you may need to “press your advantage “ more when you can. Take objectives especially if you are the highest fed. Your soul lead is something that diminishes with time especially depending on the character.

It’s also felt like every game is either my team is completely stomping or I’m getting stomped so I gotta figure out what I can do to change that in those games

It really depends on map state.

For example if you're a side laner, and urn isn't on your side, you can take the walker on opposite side, if you can catch the opponent out and the enemy have showed on the map so you know you're not about to get 4 man ganked. That's 100% a good play.

But if it's a team fight that's near your side, and could result in the winning team taking midboss, you wanna ignore walker and win the team fight, especially when you're the soul lead, because it means you get midboss, and as soul lead, you're the most influential on the fight

Sitting out could easily result in you losing the game because the enemy gets mid if your team loses

Then there's the other situation, where you're a team fight hero with soul lead, you don't wanna be the one pushing walker in side lane, you wanna be at the team fights like urn / mid or a fight that can turn into a midboss for winning team. Then it's almost always bad to push walker unless your team really needs one and you can trust your team to either win the engagement(which is unlikely because you're the soul lead teamfight hero), or disengage which you need to communicate to them that they need to do cus you're taking walker

The game is in a really bad state right now, at least in eternus. If you get a bad team comp, you just auto lose game because you can't contest the urn, unless you win all 3 lanes and can get a substantial soul lead so you can constant gank and deny the enemy team team fights at all, which is still 50x harder to actually execute well than it is to just run urn and force a 4v4 or 6v6

And some heroes being both insane side laners and team fight heroes like seven, Victor means if enemy team has them + a ginnis or Graves you basically just auto lose the game

Cus they can win urn fights and scale into late game carries and you won't be able to stop them from scaling

I'm ranting but the game is in the most unplayable state it's ever been in in eternus lobbies

It probably doesn't matter much in lower ranks tbh even ascendent lobbies are genuinely easy as fuck cus everyone sucks so much

Imo probably the biggest snowballing issue the game has rn is that midboss buff lasts 4 whole minutes, and what teams do is use that to secure 1-2 urns, steal all the jungle, and just choke out the other team for the full duration then only push in the last minute or minute and a half, so the soul swing for whoever gets midboss first (and assuming they don't immediately throw the game) is just massive, and often they can get midboss again after just a minute, using their now substantial soul lead to secure it without giving the other team any chance of catching up in farm or regaining map control or anything
