Focus on punishing your opponents mistakes and not committing to anything too hard, five minutes is a long time in 1's and in Gold there will be a lot of mistakes, if you can take advantage of even half of them you'll be able to score a lot of easy goals!

You don't want to give them open nets so you want to try and make sure they always have to go through you first, so try to make sure on defense that you're between the ball and the net wherever possible... when to apply pressure is a little more tough, it depends a lot on where the opponent is vs. you and etc. If it's on top of their car for example, you might want to give a little more space in case they send it high so you have room to block it

If they're in the net I try to get height on my shot, it's a lot harder to save a shot that they have to jump for, it uses their boost, and it makes it harder for them to recover afterwards, so if the save is bad you can take their boost pads or even get another shot on net!

I like to wait until they make a big mistake, it happened plenty and often enough to get a few goals that way. 1's is a great way to learn shadow defense yes, the more you do it the more confident you'll get with knowing when to challenge them

Don’t forget that you can hold jump off of the walls for a large distance before flipping. Or you can double jump instead of flipping. Also for the lower ranks, make sure you’re air rolling then flipping into the ball inside of side flipping like a madman

sometimes packs give u time after the save too, so if they do look at saving the ball to yourself or something like that, helps with aiming your save which you will need soon enough
