#2 ram sticks wont work in my pc

What has indicated that the ram is misbehaving?
I cheked them by testing them one by one
My ram was working im dual channel before i repasted my cpu i dont know why its not working now
so the issue isn't that 2 of your ram sticks are no longer working but that they are no longer working when in at the same time
given you've been testing them, have you ruled out an issue with one of the ram slots?
Yes
They were working just fine today
I repasted my cpu a little while ago now i cant use my ram in dual channel
Thing is the pc powers up but theres no display
so it isn't an issue with an individual slot and it isn't an issue with an individual stick - perhaps try resetting cmos, see if it is a software issue
right, before I continue making suggestions, how about you clarify what you have already done
Tested each indivisual stick only one bad stick rest are good reset bios
Tho the pc does work with only one stick tho not two at the same time
Tested each indivisual stick only one bad stick
So one of the sticks does seem to be fault?
Im only using two out of the 4 sticks i have
I gotten 32gb originally one went bad now im at 16gb
that doesn't answer my question, is one of the sticks in particular, that was in your PC before the issue and is still in your PC after the issue - causing the issue or is it any configuration of 2 sticks?
Oh and i gotten these sticks in 2019
If that helps
Ill take out the second stick and try it
Booted up
Maybe this will work
I think what rule is trying to ask is:
- are all your sticks working fine if tested one by one?
or
- is there a specific ram slot that is bad
Ill set the bios on default turn off the pc and reinsert the stick
All i know is my previous thermal paste was dry AF
Ok im gonna try inserting the second stick
@tired quail is there any correlation between reapplying thermal paste and ram??
(sorry if pinging is not ok/you're busy)
as am I
It was working with one stick but adding another breaks it
what motherboard do you have?
They are the same type of ram so thats not an isdue
Asrock z370 extreme4
Hmm ill try different sticks

there is this if that is of any use
there should be no correlation between the two - just ensure there isn't a dodgy stick or slot through trial and error
