Hey everyone, I’m having an issue where sometimes my windows machine looses internet connection, as if there is some problem with the network adapter.
It often happens after updates, at those times usually a simple reboot fixes it.
I have a Qualcomm Atheros AR9287 pci wireless adapter and the Ethernet is connected to the motherboard.
Usually I just use the Ethernet connection, but since sometimes I needed wirelessly tethering I have the adapter.
Anyways, when the issue occurs I also lose the wireless networks menu in the dockbar, however if I look into Network Connections in control panel the Aetheros wifi adapter is green and says enabled.
So to summarize when this issue occurs I lose both Ethernet connection through the motherboard (Network Connections Ethernet says network cable unplugged) and wireless as well through the pci adapter.
I’m sure is not a hardware issue because the same machine runs perfectly on linux.
Please help me out, I have no clue what the cause might be or how to fix it.

try assigning the fixed local ip address to the machine, The only reason i can think of this happening is that it gets caught into getting an ip from dhcp ip pool.
