Hello!

Everything was working normally on my PC until i decided to disconnect my microsoft account from my PC and just be a local user (Administrator on my PC) then that seems to be the reason why the problem happened (but i'm not really sure if that's the thing i'm just guessing) and that PROBLEM is when i try to download anything to any of my partitions C or D. there's a youtube video that i watched and did the same thing. I went on the partition > properties > Security > Advanced > Owner (Changed it from System(Shield Icon) to my microsoft account which i'm logged into right now. and I added that account to the administrators as well and I clicked on select a principal and i put the same user as well and then i restarted my PC. then i could successfully download normally in my D drive. But, I don't think it's right to do the same with C drive because it's the one that holds the system files and the Owner there is TrustedInstaller. I know i shouldn't be messing with these stuff and I didn't for the C partition but I was wondering if what i did has a disadvantage and i'm not really sure why it happened? is there any better way to fix that than the one i did?

Do i just have to add my microsoft account user to the permissions thing for the C drive and give it full control? or would that ruin anything?

Sorry if that was too long and thank you in advance! :))

Instead of changing the ownership of the C drive, you can try adjusting the permissions for your user account. Here’s a safer approach:

Right-click on the C drive > Properties > Security tab.
Click Edit and then Add your local user account.
Grant the necessary permissions (e.g., Modify, Read & Execute, List Folder Contents, Read, Write) without giving full control.
#

If you’ve already changed the ownership and are experiencing issues, you can restore the default permissions using the icacls command:

Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
Run the command: icacls C:\ /reset /T /C /L /Q2.
