There's no fix other than waiting longer

#

Your hard drive is very slow

#

Probably even on the brink of deaths. Most drives last 4.2 years but just like people some die younger

#

Time for a new hard drive

#

You wouldn't buy a new car just because the oil filter was time to be replaced

#

You don't buy a new computer just because the hard drive is time to be replaced.

That's why you need extra backup copies of important files at all times, because Updates go wrong, hacks and malware happen, power surges or power outages can destroy data, accidents happen. Not to mention burglary, theft, fire, floods, tornadoes, and more. And even if none of that happens, the average hard drive fails after about 4.2 years, often with no warning. You need a backup at all times.

I personally just keep everything I really must never lose inside my \OneDrive folder so it's continuously backed up at all times. Then even if my computer exploded in a fireball I would never lose an important file.

And that means that if my computer ever has a problem, I can also erase it without a worry about losing any files and without ever needing to spend time making a backup (plus waiting until you need it before making a backup means that opportunity may not happen and you'll lose everything anyway, which circles back to the first point I made above: have a backup of important things at all times.

I myself have always gone to bestbuy or Amazon. If you have an HDD now, an SSD drive will make your system feel 100x faster

#

Not aware of it

#

Not sure honestly

#

No real matter honestly either way

#

Depends if you need to take it with you often

#

I have a laptop i got in 2020 but it hasn't left the house except like 3x ever

#

Depends what you want to do with it, or if you want to be able to use it on the couch or in bed. But a desktop can be more powerful for intense gaming

#

Totally your choice there's no wrong answer
