#getting a third party chat pad to work with an xbox series S elite controler.

Happy Wednesday. ' I have an Xbox elite wireless controller and I bought ah3hird party chat pad, here is what I wrote on my social media and have gotten nowhere. lol!
Btw I can't see to read the manual if someone owns this may I please pick your brain?
I bought a chat pad at https://www.amazon.com/dp/B094J4YBK7/ref=cm_sw_r_api_i_dl_QVCNA1BGFP3WXGY2YBG2_0 and it arrived. This THING looks slick; however, I cannot figure out how to connect it to my controller. I plugged the dongle into a usb port on my Xbox, then held down the button in the lower right after putting it into the expansion slot and headphone jack. I can't get the TO TYPE into a text edit field. This is my first time owning one of these, so how do I plug this in? I bought this so I could type a bit faster instead of using an onscreen keyboard so I’m slower with that and I did not want to keep moving my computer keyboard. I linked to the one I bought ABOVE. It is a THIRD PARTY ONE THAT is supposed TO WORK WITH THE XBOX series S which I have. Someone got it working after an update
but I can't figure out how to update the thing, as my controller is up to date as of this year, 2024.

Well this is odd. I tried just for kicks holding the pair button on controler and bluetooth and I lost access to my controler and my computer tried to pick up the device. I don't think that is how it is supsoed to work. so the device is kind fo working however i od not know how to get this paird to the xbox. Thanks.

I've never owned anything like this, but I imagine it works like this:

  • Connect the Xbox controller as usual + plug in the keyboard thing
  • If there's anything extra, the manual for the keyboard will likely cover that

Hmm, odd. Iplugged in the dongle but I didn't really see any way to update. I dont' recall any apps being mentioned and I can't see well enough to read the manual sadly. I did connectthe chat pad to the controler and plugged the dongle into the xbox and it didn't show as connected thsi seems convoluted. lol!
