#How To Fix Mic Picking Up ALL PC Sounds
58 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Can you try to explain in more detail the issue?
So when i play games and im with my friends
they can hear all my pc audio
ex:games,music,windows sound etc
i really want to fix it
That's not your mic, that's your system, do you use any streaming/recording software?
might be informative if you open up the mmsys.cpl app and then show us what's on your playback and recording tabs
That's a really good idea, I'll do the same because when I stream it records things it shouldn't
no
@zinc gulch
seems to me like the others only hear those sounds because your microphone is hearing them
how can i solve?
if that's the real case, you can't
why??
if someone standing next the microphone can hear it, the microphone can also hear it
turn down your volume until the microphone can't hear it anymore basically.
now if it's a software setting change, like maybe you are doing a discord screensharing with the "include my PC sounds" turned on, that's different
no
in games and vc
they hear all my dekstop audio
my volume is down
they still hear it
even with earphones
what program are you using to share your screen with them?
discord?
yes
do they still hear the sounds if you mute your headset mic?
your screenshots don't show any other loopback or virtual adapters
that seems to prove it then for sure... the mic is just picking up the audio that anyone nearby would hear. so there's nothing you can do to stop that from happening other than turning your volume down until the mic doesn't hear it... That's just the laws of physics.
your screenshots don't show any other loopback or virtual adapter or anything.
yes
no way to resolve??
no lol... not if that's what the problem is
you can't design a microphone that doesn't listen to sounds lol
if a person can hear it, so can the mic
they still hear it when i have my volume to 0
you said they can't hear it when you mute your microphone so that seems to prove the microphone is what's picking up the sounds
so if that's the case, it's impossible to solve it I think
the mic picks up directly from pc
is it like a USB headset I assume?
yes
that's really weird. Usually trying to pipe your system audio into an input like that is a struggle that requires using dodgy unsigned loopback drivers but yours doesn't show anything like that
you've somehow got something people sometimes work really hard to get, without you wanting it 😄 But I'm not sure how this is happening based on what you showed. Does the headset have its own software perhaps?
yes
maybe it has a feature for this situation
