Hello, Microsoft team, is this an Operating System or a Malware?

• What is exactly the problem I'm facing? My problem is that Avast Antivirus seemingly detects "Win32:MiscX-gen" as a PUP (Potential Unwanted Program) is this a Malware (PUP) or a Windows OS (Operating System?)

• What steps have you already taken to fix it? I haven't done anything I just clicked the "Maybe Later" Button

Avast is a pretty bad antimalware solution with quite some false positives

However it could be good if you'd unblur the infected file

okay, i understand, unless... I searched for the file that has been infected

and began searching

#

i found Setup.exe on LavaSoft software (Adaware) then, i scanned with Avast, there it goes, it detects the PUP...

full path: C\Downloads\Setup.exe\WebCompanion-installer.exe\

Why would you use Adaware

#

It detects it as PUP for a reason

#

It's an actual PUP

#

Also it checks user input

#
