Where have you get this key?
From a Czech website
wait a sec
Not actually no, it was 3 euros
No way it’s a legit retail key for this price
its not retail, its OEM
I wanna know is it forever attached to my motherboard? or it will be changed when I get a retail key?
It will be lied to your motherboard
No way at all to remove it??
Don't buy keys from grey markets. Maybe stealed or something
It's not a pre-built PC.
After for the price it’s not really a big issue tbh
But after idk if you change how that’s work but OEM is fine
Or maybe they will fuck up and you will have a retail key like I have
like im wondering, if I bought a retail key now, and I had OEM installed, if I use the retail, the OEM will be completely removed from my PC/BIOS?
When you purchase a retail key and use it to activate your PC, the OEM key will not be removed from the BIOS. The OEM key is typically embedded in the ACPI table of the BIOS during manufacturing and is not designed to be altered or removed by the end user.
However, this doesn’t mean you can’t use a retail key. You can change the product key in your operating system to the retail key, and it will override the OEM key without altering the BIOS. The OEM key remains in the BIOS but is not used as long as the retail key is active. If you ever need to reinstall Windows, you can use the retail key during the installation process to activate it.

Thats the thing. the motherboard doesn't come with this Key.
its a different situation
I have a gigabyte z790 motherboard, it comes with no keys, I just bought an OEM
hmmm
You can try to use a Retail license and see if it overwrites the OEM
Normally this works
yeah but I wanna remove that OEM from my BIOS completely
OEM keys you type are not in the BIOS
Thank you
OEM keys that come already installed are in the BIOS
but not the ones I buy correct?
It’s just that the activation server sees your mainboard serial number and says „yep OEM license“
Depends on the manufacturer but nowadays it’s common practice on laptops yes
Yeah so your board probably doesn’t support it in the first place
I know my board supports it because there are major OEMs that use my board and preinstall licenses but there’s no way of doing this for a regular consumer
yeah I mean my motherboard doesn't come with an OEM key, its just I bought an OEM key online
and activated
so Its not attached forever to my motherboard right?
It is „attached“ from the viewpoint of the activation server until you use a different license to overwrite it
yeah so If I used a retail key to overwrite, it won't be attached to my PC anymore correct?
But it is not saved in the hardware / firmware / BIOS
The OEM license will be detached and useless
But so you know, an retail license won’t be 3€
yeah I mean anything that activates my windows for now is alright 😂
its so expensive in Egyptian pounds tbh for a retail one
Like everywhere
Fyi, the standard price is around ~$160
yeah its kinda too much so I just went for that OEM key
Honestly I understand Windows is expensive but don't buy from 3rd party websites
It's all stolen keys and one day microsoft will deactivate yours
