you could boot linux, recover your files, reinstall, then put back your files if you cant just use the fix one
or reinstall keepin files
Check if you have a system restore point
@night yarrow was warned: Rule 4
curious to know why is reinstall out of the question, since the most cut and dry method is definitely reinstalling in this situation
sorry you didnt ping me, why is reinstall not acceptable if we can keep files?
this is the community discord server, no one here is professional lol
so having the TQS role doesn’t seem professional enough? i suggest microsoft support if you want true professional help/advice
@hollow glade why is a reinstall out of the question?
You could probably save the whole thing with an in-place upgrade
I think you may be misunderstanding that a reinstall would be deleting your personal files, that is not necessarily the case if you perform an in-place upgrade
that will only affect the C:\Windows folder
also I do this for a living, that is the dictionary definition of "professional", so don't give me any of that shit
if you're not interested in being helped, I will go ahead and lock this thread
Alright - We're going to re-open this thread. Everyone needs to chill out a bit though. No need for calling people unprofessional or getting all worked up. So, a few things -
- If the user doesn't want to reinstall the OS, don't keep suggesting it.
- DMs for support aren't allowed here. If you want to go into the VC and do this, just do it.
- No one here is paid for supporting other users. Therefore no one here is a "professional" in that sense. Some of us might work in IT Support in real life, but we don't work in IT here, because no one is paid for it here.
- Generally having a poor attitude towards those both in need of support and those who are doing the supporting is a bad way to go about doing this. The saying "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything" applies here. If there are no good solutions to what the problem is, then just move along and let the thread die out on its own.
OK no need for comment on this please. The drama is over and we should let it be over.
Lets just move along w/ possible solutions if there are any.
