I'm trying to fresh-install Windows 10 on already working Windows 11 Laptop.

I have deleted all partitions I think it was usable which was C: (252GB) and D: (198GB)

Then, what are these partitons left? There are "MSR(reserved), two "recovery" and one of them is labeled also "SAMSUNG"

To Translate:

Select where to install Windows.

Drive 0 Partition 1 SYSTEM
Drive 0 Partiton 2 MSR(Reserved)
Drive 0 Non-allocated
Drive 0 Partiton 3 Recovery
Drive 0 Partiton 4 "SAMSUNG" Recovery

MSR is just something used to reserve space by Windows, SAMSUNG is probably your OEM recovery partition

Yeah it should be fine to delete, since you're reinstalling Windows anyway it will automatically recreate partitions as needed

Also,

#

Would it be safe to just get rid of all partitons?

I don't need recovery, even tho if i'm not tech-savvy but I know how to format if I get virus or something

chrome surge

Yeah thats what i usually do, just delete all the partitions on the drive you want to install Windows on

graceful talon

I see, and it would make up all the drives needed if so?

#

after install

Windows will automatically recreate partitions it needs when installing so you don't really need to worry about that

Oh. thank you! : )

Could I ask just one more question, out of topic

chrome surge

Ok

After fresh installing Windows 10, would it be good to just use a Third-party vaccine or just use defender?

chrome surge
#

Windows Defender should be good enough, but I do recommend that you periodically scan your computer using something like Malwarebytes Free just in case something slipped past Defender

Hmm, Alright. Thank you so much!

You're welcome

@chrome surge Hi, one more dumb question if possible?

chrome surge
#

Yeah sure

graceful talon

Is OEM Licence infinite?

As in, if I keep reinstalling Windows on my Laptop or I use this forever, Would Windows Activation never expire?

chrome surge
#

Yes, your Windows license is embedded in your device's firmware and if you sign into your Microsoft account, will be linked to it so it'll never expire
