#If someone steals my Windows 11 laptop....

Unless you have something like Bitlocker or other drive encryption enabled, they could access your data.
I see. How could they access it?
Probably as simple as getting a bootable USB and they could just access it..
What is worse, is that they could maybe even change your local account password so they can log in and even look into your apps and thus everything you're still logged into.
I see. Windows is really not that secure as I thought but I got no valuable data on it. I maybe use the web browser and steam for games
i see
Unless, as I said before, you use drive encryption
This also applies to other OSes so booting to external drive with OS installed can access it
if done correctly and used third party drivers to access that disk formatted than ntfs/fat
so your computer is vulnerable in general if someone boots to external media and gain access to files
Yeah.. considering that a simple BIOS password could add more security too..
But that still leaves the option to just rip out the storage device and put it into another PC
bios password still can be reset with cmos battery
expect a hp server which has a bios password which is not stored in cmos if you enable that option
