I set up this laptop on Windows 11 with my old Microsoft account. Its home folder is named the name of my old account, so the path is C:\Users\old_user. Recently, I switched the Microsoft account of the computer and changed it to my new Microsoft account. However, it seems to have created a new home folder(?) for the new account. The only way I can access this new folder is by clicking on the drop-down of the file explorer search bar (see picture). This new folder has an appdata that has the exact same files as the appdata in C:\Users\old_user, my original home folder. How do I merge these two, if possible?

Or alternatively, is it possible to get rid of this folder and keep using my old C:\Users\old_user folder?
when you sign in from a different microsoft account it is treated as a new user. So it created a new user folder for you. I would not recommend you to go back to old folder however changing the location of your desktop documents etc is possible to old users folder respectively. But you should not do that. then you'll need to keep both user folders. Just get rid of old folder after you copy your data.
Gotcha, how would I go about moving from my old user folder to my new one?
