As long as you don't touch any key for at least 2 seconds after you hit Enter, it should set focus to the newly opening app. But if it's not doing that correctly, I'm not sure what troubleshooting to do beyond perhaps opening Task manager, disable everything on the Startup tab, then reboot and give it a fresh try. The thought here is some other process running in the background is causing the issue since it doesn't happen on a clean new windows installation.

Strange. Not happening for anyone else so it must be some software or driver issue on your machine

I was virtually positive it would, that's almost as good as getting a whole new computer
So now it's 100% sure, your other profile has extra software running causing the conflict.
You'll have to carefully figure out what it is by process of elimination
