Are you sure you aren't using "end task"?

Yeah you're probably clicking "end task". and even then if you click "run new task" and type "explorer.exe" it'll re-open it.

@stiff hawk next time if you want to restart Windows Explorer, do it in Windows Terminal

kill the Windows Explorer process then relaunch via explorer in terminal

I presume they closed down the Task Manager after killing the Explorer.exe task. Not everyone knows about CTRL+ALT+DEL to get the Task Manager running again.
Also, just noticed that this was a forum dedicated to feedbacks. I thought it was the support forum
