Good night everybody, so since some weeks ago i've started to have problems with Blue Screen. idk if its directly related or not, but it started to happen close to when i got my new bluetooth headset. I would like to know if someone could help me, maybe if i post the logs/dump files, i don't know exactly what system file could help to solve the problem. I'm trying to solve it somehow first before formatting my PC. The BSOD was happening quite often some weeks ago, then a friend suggested me to run CCleaner to fix something on the Registry of the system. After i've run it, the BSOD stopped for a couple weeks, but now it's happening again.
#Blue screen happening sometimes. Wanna try to fix it before formatting

type reset in windows and choose "reset but keep files"
ty Joreyk, i will try it today then i give a feedback here
this option to reset keeping files do nothing to the other drives, just the one with Windows on it will be reseted, but keeping file on C\Users\me , and the other drives will remain untouched, correct?
it wont delete user documents, thats the only thing i can confirm, it will show you a list of apps that will be uninstalled, idk about other drives
i just tried to reset it, but it asks for a usb with Windows instalation/recovery. You have a step by step on how to do it, please? I have a 7gb pen drive here, is it enough?
what is a "pen drive"
normally you can select on reset "local" and it will use recovery files on your pc
you shouldnt need something external for a reset
oh sorry, its a USB
when i select keep my files, its just show that no recovery ambient was found, and a option to close
if you make a complete new install, anything will be deleted
thats bad, looks like a corrupted windows
oh :/ so probably i won't be able to keep my files?
before you reset you could try sfc /scannow in admin powershell
it said that it found some corrupted files and fixed them
sorry for my dumb question, but just to confirm: you suggest me to run this scan and then try to keep using the pc normally, since it fixed the corrupted files; or the scan won't probably fix the BSOD and i should try to reset it as we planned after the scan?
if the scan fixed files, try without reset
like the scan could fix the issue allready
reset is last resort Action
if you got other options for a fix try those before
thank you so much for the help buddy! just two more questions:
1 - after the scan i've restarted my PC and tried to click on "Reset->keep my files" again just to check if it would go past that point it was stuck before the scan, but it didn't, when i click on keep my files, it shows : "no recovery ambient was found. Insert an installation media or windows recovery and restart your PC with a media". You think this could still be a problem that that local option of recovery you mentioned still doesn't show up?
2 - can i keep this post open to ask for your amazing help again if something new happen? Or i should close it? if so, can i please add you?
Very very bad idea
totally agree. i don't like to reset without trying something first.
@opal peak Yo
Try updating your drivers
Try changing your ram
Try doing system scans and virus scans
I'm sure those 3 prob will help you out
xboxgip.sys is failure
@opal peak trust me resetting isn't necessary
it will remove 90% of your apps (or most)
Do you use an Xbox controller in your PC?
when the problem started to happen, if i remember correctly all drivers were updated, but when i take a look now, there are some that need update, so i will just update them;
i also did the sfc /scannow as Joreyk suggested and it said it fixed some corrupted files. The virus scan found nothing
Try updating the sfc database using DISM trick
i used it a couple times and had no problem with it. But recently my old bluetooth headset battery died, so i've bought a new one, a new model of the same headset i had, that works on Xbox console as well, and it has Xbox on its name. And the BSOD started to happen close to when i bought it
how i do it?
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
After do the command again
sfc /scannow
After you can update your xbox controller drivers so you can correctly connect your headset
You can also go at C:/Windows/Minidump and give me the latest dump file
Did you make sure it also supported Windows?
If it said it doesn't support Windows then return it and buy a Windows-compatible headset and if you don't want to return it update Xbox controller drivers
it doesn't let me send you the file. is it easy to fix this?
Wait
Copy the file
And paste it to downloads
You can send it here
after
it found no corrupted file
Restart your PC, and notify me when it happens again
@opal peak I'm sure your system got corrupted a bit after that error
Because of "2072"
when kernel failed
what the hell
It still idenifys which time it crashed
But i'm sure your system is now fixed
and about that.... it doesn't show specifically that it is supported to Windows . It seems some users could make it work and some don't :/ the bad news is that i can't return it cause i've asked a friend who travel to another country to bring it to me
the exactly same boring thing happen to me as mentioned on the second review
I recommend buying another one
For windows
oh ok :/
Go to Device Manager and find anything xbox-based and uninstall it
And after reconnect it
Probably helps
let me do it
Hope nothing is screwed up
done
so, basically i can try to keep using it on my PC since i dont have another headset available at home right now, but it isn't advisable, and i should organize myself to get a new one that is Windows compatible, right?
Now connect it
done
Yes better than screwing up your PC
got it. Thank you so much for the help buddy. Can i add you on disc?
i will see if i can sell it for a good price.
Sure idm
