grizzled oracle
Hi I'm trying to learn how to draw with pastels and I'm having a bit of trouble. Can't quite figure out what I'm supposed to do and I can't stop myself from smudging everywhere and making a mess. Anyone have any tips??

Hey I’ve worked with pastels allot when I was younger , if you’ve finished you’re drawing you can put hairspray over it , might need to do a few rounds and make sure you do it from a little distance so it’s even
You can also put another piece of paper onder you’re hand , it still probably smudge a bit and try not to move the extra paper piece to much but yiu can replace you’re hand on it so it won’t get everywhere

Also you can also try different coloured paper such as or black, brown ,light Gray , so for example you’re drawing a white cat with black you could do that on brown paper so you see both colours very good because pastels cover really good, but I I personally stay with natural coloured paper and not vibrant but that’s my preference

I don't really remember much about using pastels but I do remember that black should always be last added since that one is the one that smudges the easiest
