I’m not really doing damage or healing. I can’t tell if it’s gear, talents, or if I’m just pressing buttons wrong.

I am also really struggling to gather mobs for big pulls - especially first pull of NXP and the house pull in MC.

Here is a link to the highest key I’ve timed: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/NaYChLq6DZXkGcwp?fight=12&type=damage-done

Highest MC: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/NaYChLq6DZXkGcwp?fight=10&type=damage-done

Highest NXP: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/8qmprF46AyR1fxgZ?fight=16&type=damage-done

Do not play ITF with less then 1188 haste, you have way to many unblocked hits

#

You could opt to drop blood surge for BSV

#

Its basically a cheat deth helping with mistakes from you and your team mates

fervent nova
#

Oh! The haste breakpoint is new to me, had no idea. Thanks for pointing jt out. I also had no idea I could see my percent of blocked hits like that. That’s huge. Thank you! Anything else you’ve got is greatly appreciated.

cinder lynx
#

Yeah to see how many blocked hits hover over the amount of hits from melees

#

Also it kinda looks like you are overspending a bit of rage, could you explain when to press Ignore pain?

fervent nova
cinder lynx
#

Ignore pain should be used to dump excess rage, meaning only IP at 70 ish rage or above so you dont overcap.

fervent nova
cinder lynx
#

Thats a major problem then, IP is not your mitigation in almost all scenarios

#

You should disable IP completely to get rid of that bad habbit

fervent nova
#

I do prio shield block up time above it. But I hear you. Should I be revenging more?

#

I think revenge damage goes into my IP if it’s active, right?

lapis sedge
#

You’re overthinking it

#

Warrior is a pretty clear prio system, follow the prio outlined in the icy veins guide

Ignore pain is off global so basically if your rage is > 70 you press it. Its primary use is as a rage dump to drive violent outburst procs. It will help smooth damage but it won’t keep you alive.

#

Generally speaking you will press revenge when you can’t press shield slam or thunderclap

#

The guide explains in much more detail

fervent nova
#

Ok thank you I will re-read it. I’m starting to wonder if my movement is bad and I’m getting hit in the back. I feel squishy without IP and block up

cinder lynx
#

Lets calm down and take it step by step

#

You disable the ip tracker and change from ITF to HR

#

Then do a run and report back

#

Thanks Seep. This is my first time in the Warrior discord and you guys are so much nicer and more helpful than the other discords it’s wild lol

cinder lynx
#

Yeah the other discords can be rude at times

fervent nova
#

DH discord is the meanest place ive ever been helped lol

#

Do you have any tips for maximizing Impending Victory? It feels clunky to me. Where should I prio it?

cinder lynx
#

You should probably treat it like a health pot or Warlock HS

Have you managed to try some of those tips? @fervent nova

@cinder lynx Ok, so I finally had some time to log into my warrior and do a low key (here is the log, but it is mostly not worth your time: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/vk9LQBxm2AjJVfFX?fight=last&view=replay&position=980285) and here are my thoughts:

  1. Changing my mindset about Ignore Pain dramatically changed my rotation. I am hitting revenge WAY more. I think Frothing Berserker gains more value now that I am playing correctly. Interestingly, due to the increased number of strategist procs I found myself still hitting ignore pain a similar amount. There were some rotational growing pains and I definitely wasn't doing everything correctly, but the rotation felt a lot more fluid. I see the vision and I am now a believer. The only time I felt squishy was between 16:20 and 16:26. Idk what happened there but I almost got clapped. Shield block was up, I think i got RNGd with the chakram at the same time SW and DS fell off with shear debuff on me. More strategist procs also make me realize exactly how much damage I am missing out on dropping Phalanx apex talents. I still prefer the defensive build, but I understand the trade better.

  2. I am doing SO much less planning and micro-ccing. I used to need my aoe stun to fill gaps in SB uptime. I think with a little practice I am good enough at the game to go back to using ITF (micro stepping, shockwave, int shout, etc.). I also found that not overcapping rage took more cogi load than expected. Before I was doing keys high enough that i just dumped everything into IP because my ilvl was low. Now I actually have to watch it a little bit to avoid overcapping.

  3. The single biggest improvement is my movement. My SB uptime was good before (it is better now) and I am much more thoughtful in how I get mobs. Some tanks can take a melee to the back. I understand now that I cannot. My melee blocked % has skyrocketed. Still some imrpovement to be had, but huge gain.

  4. I am underutilizing WT, DS, and SR. Need more

#

practice

#

Overall healing and damage improved, but I think the rage gen really tells it all.

cinder lynx
#

I still see that you are running 1/4 apex?

final bane
#

Last Stand, Indomitable and BSV arent needed for a 12

#

Also, yeah.. 1/4 Apex

#

Change those three to 4/4 Apex

lapis sedge
#

Here's a comparison of a 14 skyreach I ran

#

You are leaving a considerable amount of dps on the table by not pressing thunderclap enough

#

you are also still wasting a considerable amount of rage

#

given similar gen (you are running bloodsurge so I'd actually expect more) you are wasting over 10 times the amount of rage I am

#

I'm pretty good with rage economy, but I would aim for sub 100 waste as that is literally three full rage bars you are wasting

fervent nova

I definitely need to work on getting more DS and SRs out though. Easily my next biggest point of improvement.

#

It looks like you’re just not prioritizing clap enough on trash pulls

#

Primarily because you are pressing revenge

fervent nova
#

I will take that under advisement

Also you're in Defensive Stance 100%, they have 15.8% Defensive Stance, the rest is Battle Stance. Other than padding, Tanks job is to Tank. In raids you can go into Battle Stance when not actively tanking, but in keys, especially with how squishy tanks are right now and how many Bleeds and other nasty DoTs there are, I doubt the healer is happy about them taking ~20% more damage overall than is necessary.

#

The 3% Crit Chance and 3% Crit Damage are very minor buffs.

fervent nova
lapis sedge
#

You should generally prio clap over slam in aoe unless youre rage starved

#

But in reality you can just press both on cd

fervent nova
#

I can dig that. I think that would also let me more easily weave in phalanx procs (if I run Apex talents)

#

i think ive been over prioritizing shield slam

lapis sedge
#

I wouldn’t worry about tracking phalanx

#

You will naturally spend them just by nature of the rotation

The only thing that has prio over SS is TB
