Hi all, I've switched back to tanking this tier after playing DPS, and the transition was a bit rough at first. I’ve managed to climb from grey/green parses to mostly purple, but I’m struggling to push further into orange and above when aiming to parse. I’d really appreciate any insights or advice on where I might be going wrong. If you need more info, just let me know.

Just off the cuff your shield block uptime is way too low. It increases your shield slam damage which is one of the buttons you press the most, so you want to be as close to 100% as possible, not 35-45%.

I don't see you using Tempered potion, neither as prepot or during final part of the fight.

Your rotation itself looks good and you're not overcapping rage. You might do better on st fights with spear and +1% crit/execute dmg talent rather than roar. On add fights like soulbinder take advantage of their low health and execute cleave off them onto boss, whenever you get the chance.

Will take a look later but got raid now.

Something that strikes me as well
Is you tend to lose uptime on the boss because you are not using your movement skills to maximize it.

For example on plexus you’re moving away with the bomb but it takes you ages to get back, and you’re taking a long time to get to the boss. You have leap, charge, intervene, and your cape on plexus to use - you should be near 100% melee uptime.

That’s hurting your parse pretty badly.

After taking a second look, I'm noticing your casts of Demoralizing Shout are very inconsistent. On Plexus Sentinel (Mythic) you don't use it until the two minute marker - why? Similar story with Soulbinder, 1 min 30 sec until your first cast. Moreover on several of the fights there are 55-60 secs between each cast. Delaying the cast means you either don't sync it with roar or also have to delay casts of it. On Fractillus you do a lot better getting it on cd every 45 sec, you should aim to do that for all fights, only holding when ready if you expect it to hit more adds within the next 5 seconds or so - such as all three Soul Hunters reappearing after intermission.

Taking a look at your Executes you had 25 casts on Plexus Sentinel - 17 of these were free procs of Sudden Death, which is actually quite a lot. That means you used eight executes that weren't free for four of those you had less than 40 rage. So you're not casting Execute enough and half your rage-costing casts don't get their full potential due to low rage. Your low rage is because you cast Ignore Pain a whopping 14 times in the last minute of the fight alone. You need to cast it less and spend your rage on more executes instead.

#

This is your rage economy for Fractillus. Note how you rarely ever go above 75 rage. This is because you spam ignore pain every other cd. Permanently staying too low risks not being able to cast if you don't get shield slam resets, especially during execute phase. During execute you should aim to build as much rage as possible without capping by using shield slam / thunder blast, then spending on juicy 40-rage cost executes. Pooling rage is especially important so that you can afford to chain executes during cd windows such as demoralizing shout.

You should always use IP to prevent yourself from being at max rage even if you already have the max amount of IP shield.

#

The point is to allow yourself to sit a little higher so you don't end up rage starved with no buttons to press. This is mostly important during execute, but it can also suck outside of it if you have 30 rage, SS/TB are on cd and you need to spend rage on IP/SB, then can't cast anything.
