#Helping out a friend with his Fury play - I need Fury players help ^_^

Hello Rage-users!

Im trying to help out my friend in advancing his Fury play, mainly in Raid but everything is helpful.

Myself dont play dps at all tbh, Im a healer / tank player, so I have abit harder of a time because I dont play DPS Warrior at all. And would like some experienced people to look into it. Since you guys know alot more than I do!

Focus: Could be everything from A-Z. Rotation, prio, buff management, CPM, Rage usage... List goes on. You can provide as much as you want!

Essentially this guy is doing the same things wrong that 90% of cluegi warriors fuck up. He knows what his buttons do but he doesnt know how to optimize them. He doesn’t optimize his rage, he doesn’t overvalue raging blow over bloodthirst like hes supposed to. His opener is dogpoop doodoo, he clicks thunderous roar over raging blow in ST (its a filler below bloodthirst), im not sure if hes using the sudden death conditions weakaura that automates the thinking process, essentially telling us when we rly need to press execute and he somehow has uptime problems on fights like fractillus

Damn near all of this info is easily obtained in this discord, you can search for „opener“ in the fury chat and find what you need. You can find the weakauras in #dps-faq and you can tell him that he’s playing as if he doesn’t give a shit about damage

He kinda gets carried by the fact that fury optimizations dont do much so as long as you play okay you‘ll outperform people who play okay on other specs

Optimize rage in what sense?

Where did you find/how where he prioritize the wrong stuff? cus if Im looking and comparing off other warriors in the raid. CPM for example isnt that off, and every fight is different ofc.

Yeah Thunderous Roar seems to be true in ST yeah, I guess he did better on his Soulhunter prog with that.

I also compared to other warriors on hunters since its most recent. This is I dont understand, cus of this (casts, buffs etc) it doesnt seem that off, or what am I looking at wrong?

But looking at your logs, something my eye saw was, my friend seem to press alot less RB inbetween Rampages for example

  • optimizing rage
    we rampage when enrage is about to fall off or preferably at 115+ rage. The earlier you rampage the more prone you are to rage starving, forcing you to use filler spells such as execute (without weakaura proc), bloodthirst or even thudnerous roar.

  • Where did i find it out?
    You can see how he prioritizes his stuff by clicking casts and timeline in wcl. It's a visual representation of when he casts what and lemme tell you, its very easy to spot what he presses too much of and what he doesnt press enough of even without having a VOD of his gameplay

Soulhunter is a three target fight with imperfect uptime, roar is pretty solid on this fight

the bloodthirsts after bladestorm arent actual casts btw, they are autocasted by the unhinged talent in case you didnt know

Yeah, he kinda got tilted and Im just trying to help. Healer/tank is more of my area, and dps overall I have a hard time with.

I see - so more the mindset of, or the criterion of If Rage <115 and Enrage is not about to expire, press other to gain shit basically - gain if not forced to spend. Thats easier for me to understand from hpal, if you're not forced to spend, keep building - for obvious reasons

Re-prioritize/re-think order/value of global etc

He has the Weakaura for Execute, but if its followed correct idk

as for the execute weakaura, when it procs its the highest rotational priority after bladestorm (while enraged)

but when we dont have raging blows left to generate rage, execute without weakaura proc becomes the next best filler after raging blow

Just from Ive read that seems weird, with no RB inbetween, but I dont know how to check if its correct or not, for example

I mean it can happen, sometimes we just dont get RB resets since its percentage based

regardless of previous shenanigans, mr bissenw needs to focus on optimizing uptime

a lot of people still have the bloodthirst crit% weakaura that lights up above 100% crit but its a worse button to press than raging blow even at 100% crit so its a giga bait weakaura

Yeah I see, he has basically played Shadow Priest since original MoP. Been fucking around with alts and stuff, last guild broke.

He got an invite from a friends guild to play, but they insisted on Warrior. So he just accepted in order to play with a team again, and with that friend.

Uptime havent been the issue for him before, so melee is different.

I think this is a case where comfort goes over performance, he just presses whats comfortable without thought.

Do you perhaps have any good guide/recommendations of videos where they go more indepths about this stuff?
