I am just now able to raid once more. I used to think I was average, but then I looked at my logs and lets just say, there is room for improvement.

Here are my logs. https://www.warcraftlogs.com/character/us/draenor/deldawalth

I am not trying to be a orange or purple kinda guy. I am just to slow for that, but being in the 60's would be nice. Right now I am averaging like 35's. I have been reading about what I should be doing, and I know I am new to the raid but still I am doing way worse then I would have thought. What are some simple things that I can start with to improve that I can build upon?

This website is a good tool to use to check what you need to improve on. This one is analysing your best Loomithar log. It looks like you spent almost 30% of the fight not using your abilities. You also spent roughly 13% of the fight away from the boss.

You're also not using execute right. If you use weakauras, you should get this one: https://wago.io/r8u4tHLRQ This will tell you when you should be pressing execute, or you could look at the wowhead guide and memorize the requirements you need to meet in order to use exectute properly.

Lastly, make sure you are using recklessness, avatar, and bladestorm as much as possible.

Other than that, just make sure you enchant your gear and use consumables.
