Low ilvl parse in HC raid

Hey folks, I love arms but I'm mucking up my rotation a bit. I looked at logs the previous week and thought I figured it out, but this week I'm still grey parsing. I want to get better at this spec, I just don't know what to look for it seems.

Here's my log for Sentinel because that's basically a

I did a compare with a purple parse and though I did notice some things, it looks like we're (mostly) doing the same stuff. We're both making mistakes too which is reassuring, lol.

Things I noticed in my parse:

1. I mucked up my opener. Raid ST is supposed to be
   rend -> roar -> CDs -> MS -> OP -> prio list.

2. I never used a tempered potion. I usually just macro it to avatar for raid and forgot to copy that over.

3. I may have used sudden death procs too early / used OP too much? I'm not sure.

4. I don't know if I'm supposed to line up CDs or just CDs on CD because of anger management.

5. I had a ring without an enchant equipped. that was a equipment set goof up that has been fixed.

So a really handy tool in warcraftlogs is the "Compare" feature. It's in the top-right-hand corner. It lets you pick someone with similar ilvl and fight length, then it shows you some key spots performance deviates between your logs and someone else's.

For example, you're the blue line (below)

• so we can see your opener was about 50% of what it should have been (you already called out how your opening rotation was off, above)
• but also your execute was much lower as well (ie: 3:00-4:00 was also about 50%)

Opener is usually:
Charge -> Rend -> Avatar/Roar/Trinkets/Pot -> Mortal Strike -> Bladestorm -> [begin normal rotation]
In the link above, neither of you did it correctly, but you can see how the spacing out of your major CDs greatly impacted the amount of DPS you did

As for the execute phase difference, it seems like you were a bit rage-starved that entire sequence, so you were left casting a lot more Overpowers as filler. Rage isn't something you usually care about directly, but it's a symptom of some rotation issues.

For example, during Execute Phase, i see you got a few Exhilirating Blows procs . You should not care about Exhilarating Blows reset during execute phase. Instead, you should always be sure to get 2x Execute casts between every Mortal Strike in order to stack up your Executioner's Precision debuff on the target.

During Execute you want to basically be casting Mortal Strike every 2-3 GCDs, but only if you get those 2x executes in there first
