  • What do YOU think you are doing correctly or incorrectly? What do you notice in top logs and vods of kills from high level players that you aren't doing?
  • Can you explain the logic behind when and how you're using your reck and avatar?
  • Have you plugged your logs into wowanalyzer and checked what it suggests?

  1. I am not sure what I’m doing wrong, hence me asking in here

  2. I use Reck on CD unless it’s within 10-15 seconds of avatar coming off then I wait to pair them together

  3. I usually do, but haven’t tonight yet! But I will now 🙂

You shouldn't hold reck or ava to pair with one another; you generally always want to use both asap (at least on a single target fight with no damage amps like fractillus)

trail pilot
#

Ahh okay cool. I had gotten mixed info on that - so maybe hold on to them for a large amp like salad bar or demensius

#

But normally on CD. Got it!

native ridge
#

You can hold bladestorm a few seconds (probably no more than 7 or so of real time, which is generally ~15s on reck cd because of cdr) but you generally don't want to hold reck or ava themselves

#

If you haven't seen it, the website lorrgs.io is very useful for seeing when top logs are using their cds

trail pilot
#

Dude this is awesome thank you

#

I’m gonna check that out now

native ridge
#

Another thing that stands out to me is your casts in general are just kind of low - you have 64.4cpm vs my 78.2 in the same time frame

#

Could be a haste difference I guess, but could also be you aren't keeping good uptime and queueing spells efficiently

trail pilot
#

Hmmm that is a noticeable difference

#

I think I’m at 24% haste or so?

#

Queuing spells? I’ll need to research on that

native ridge
#

I'm at 31% unbuffed

trail pilot
#

Fury moves so fast idk how I’d manage haha

native ridge
#

Your enrage uptime is a little low for a single target fight at 94%, but that's probably not a huge deal, same with your AJ uptime

#

What's going on here

trail pilot
#

Oh like the gaps lol

#

Ahhh I remember

#

I had moved my potion on my hotbar and took an extra few seconds of brain power to find it

#

sigh

native ridge
#

Looking at your cast timeline, the biggest thing looks like large periods of downtime

trail pilot
#

So like a second here or there that I’m not pressing anything?

native ridge
#

Each of those is 2-3 casts, so you're missing out on like 10? casts over the course of the fight

#

Which doesn't sound like much, but that's a free 6% of your damage right there

trail pilot
#

I didn’t know I could cast BT during bladestorm?

native ridge
#

Those are automatic casts by the Unhinged talent

trail pilot
#

Ahhhh gotcha

#

So I need to practice not leaving these gaps in between my abilities

#

And maybe mess with the spell queuing thing too

native ridge
#

I mean the multi-second gaps are probably due to movement

trail pilot
#

I do tend to move around a lot

native ridge
#

So predicting where you might need to move such that you don't lose uptime is a valuable skill to practice

#

As well as getting back to the boss asap if you get knocked or something like the fractillus walls

trail pilot
#

I like to kinda strafe back and forth as I DPS.. that a mistake?

native ridge
#

As long as you don't leave melee range it doesn't matter

#

If you do leave melee range, it does matter

trail pilot
#

That makes complete sense

native ridge
#

But like if you know you're dropping a wall and you're going to be knocked back, you should be spamming charge or leap to get back on boss immediately

#

Instead of spending 2 gcds of time walking back to melee range

trail pilot
#

Okay cool that sounds good

#

Dude I really appreciate you taking some time to check out my logs

#

I feel like I have a good few things to focus on now

#

Thanks man!!
