@teal galleon apologies for yolo posting on the prot channel, I don't really use more than the pins 🥲

You're good! No worries at all. Just easier to do it here since these tend to be a lot of conversation. Keeps from clogging up the main chat and let's you find it easier

Fair enough, as said only really used pins/faqs and I've never done any log analysis stuff

"Not using tclap properly (ie unbuffed)"

This part has me concerned, and the damage breakdown really makes me concerned;

are you intentionally trying to throw outbursts on Thunder Clap?

#

Unless you've got some bungo ginormous pulls, that shouldn't be the case; Shield Slam outbursts out damage up until like, 8 or 9 mobs

And even then, the extra rage gen is generally more value or close enough to equal value

Got ya, well let's get to it!

  1. You're sending a bunch of Violent Outburst procs on TClap. That costs you a ton of damage. You can send on TBlast in AoE (even better if the cast is buffed with your 4pc), otherwise just send it on SS. SS only in ST.

  2. Wasted a bit of rage. Not insane, but the goal is 0 so you can always improve this, and it adds up really quickly due to rage spending causing our CDs to cycle faster.

  3. You took Booming Voice. Thats means Demo Shout is now a very powerful offensive CD. You want to pop it before casting any CDs (shield charge/TRoar) whenever possible.

  4. Ignore Pain is mitigation, but you shouldn't be thinking about it like that. Its a button you use to prevent overcapping on rage without spending a GCD on it. Sometimes you hit it a few times in anticipation of a big hit, when its better to just pop Shield Wall, because then you have no rage and your SS doesnt reset on the next TClap leading to you just standing there for a few globals doing nothing because you're out of rage and everything is on CD.

It's a balancing act. You never want to overcap rage, but you also don't want to starve yourself by slamming Ignore Pain too much.

You

might be mistaking thunder clap for thunder blast

I likely am and I just now realize that 🥲

They sit at the same general point in your basic rotation priority, but for modifiers, they couldn't be any different

#

Blast makes Clap look like noodle damage in comparison

lunar pollen
#

Yeah I am seeing that now

#

I also try not to use IP for mitigation, just avoid overcapping but sometimes I see the rage bar skyrocket up and panic double press it which I've always done (this is bad I know)

vague ridge
#

I mean, sometimes pressing it twice in a row is the call; depends on where you are in your rage cycle

#

If you've got like two ravagers that proc''d, for example, you're really gonna be slapping it a lot

teal galleon
#

Its a very reactionary spec. Sometimes its okay to hit IP between every GCD for 5 seconds straight

#

Sometimes you need to wait and make sure SS resets before you touch it once

lunar pollen
#

but noted, I really forgot that you aren't supposed to outburst tclaps

Its very much a domino effect. If you fuck up one thing it cascades and slows everything else down sense we relying on that feedback loop

I tend to prioritize it in AoE as:

TBlast (when buffed by 4pc) > SS > TBlast. If SS is on CD and I have TBlast up, but it's unbuffed, I just send it.

#

As long as you never send Violent Outburst on TClaps you'll notice a huge difference in burst damage and rage generation
