I am sure there's a lot of silly mistakes that are being made in this fight by me (we had a few mix-ups on who was taunting what)... I'm relatively new to Prot Warrior. I tinkered with it a bit last Season but this is my first season as a core tank in my guild and IDK what I can do to get my numbers higher. Overall my parses seem... OK? But according to the iLvl Bracket metric I'm doing ... Not so OK.

I even put on different talents for this fight in an attempt to generate more rage to get more damage out? Any feedback would be appreciated. I am trying to improve as much as I can.

  1. Wasting a lot of rage, make sure you are using IP to avoid overcapping
  2. Your opener needs to include Shield Charge. Please check the WoWhead page for the opener and hit the buttons in that exact order every time.
  3. Revenging too much. Your second cast of the fight in a few of these pulls is Revenge. There's never any reason for that. You only revenge when you have nothing left to press and need to fish for a SS reset.
  4. Shield Block uptime is super low. Make sure you're pressing it on CD. Your haste is high enough so ITF is fine over HR, but you HAVE to make sure you're pressing Shield Block any time it's up. The only time it's okay to drop it is the gauntlet. It doesn't just make you tanky, it increases Shield Slam damage as well.
  5. There's no reason to be Defensive Stance in Heroic. Nothing hits hard enough to even move our health bar if you press Shield Wall for the tank buster (You have it up for basically every tank buster of every fight in the raid)
  6. Execute more. I know you think you're pressing it enough. Everyone does. Press it more. While in execute phase the goal is to do the standard rotation (Make sure SS and TBlast/TClap are on CD) and then use Execute to prevent overcapping. Some people spam execute rather than using it to overcap. This, ironically, means fewer executes as you aren't generating enough rage to sustain them. In execute range, you basically ignore IP completely if you're going for max damage
