I feel like my stat prio is good and my understanding of the rotation is not perfect but not nowhere near as bad as it seems by my performance. I'll link a log of vexie where the other arms warr in my guild (a very good player) does ~50% more dps than I do, and it looks like his abilities like mortal strike just do on average ~50% more damage than mine despite myself having more crits. Really looking for advice so I can be more helpful to the raid team. My character is named Triffs. The prio im following in basic rotation is: Overpower w/ tactician proc -> Mortal Strike -> Execute w/ 3 stacks of M4E -> Overpower -> Execute -> Slam. https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/KcLJvWnAMX6jB7CQ?fight=53&type=damage-done
#Not doing as much damage as I should be, can't figure out why I'm doing so much less

Even when hitting a raid dummy I do far less than a sim on patchwerk would say I should, sim says 2.7m dps and I do 1.8m
You had double the downtime compared to the other warrior and did the execute phase completely wrong/ have the wrong ability prio. Execute with 3 stacks of M4E or 2 stacks of sudden death are prio over MS and OP
You didn't use combat potion+ ur missing enchants and weapon buff
Is the execute w/3 stacks of M4E and 2 stacks of SD the prio for the whole fight or just while in execute? Also could you explain more how I did the execute phase completely wrong? Should I just be spamming Executes -> MS w/ 2 stacks of EP -> OP when I need rage? And by downtime do you mean time when I just wasn't hitting the boss at all? I though I was on her a lot but I guess I didn't notice it
Idk if I'm not seeing things correctly since I'm using my phone browser but from 5:07 until the end of the fight you are using:
MS > 5x Executes > MS > 12x Executes > MS
There are also numerous 8-15s gaps where MS isn't being pressed at all throughout the fight.
that is indeed what he did.
We do indeed prioritize execute under those circumstances throughout the entire fight. The main reason is because we want to extend the duration of Juggernaut as much as possible. Arms' entire damage comes from having good Juggernaut stacks. Great players can still get good parses but they wont be near the top ranks with hideous Juggernaut uptime.
There is a weakaura that automates this thought process for you. https://wago.io/9n9GqeQ6-
With this weakaura, in pure single target, you simply press execute when it lights up. It does the thinking for you.
Regardless, your execute phase rotation was completely wrong.
Here's what you are supposed to prioritize in Execute phase:
Mortal Strike with 2 stacks of "Executioners Precision" > Opportunist proc Overpower > Execute > Overpower to get rage
Wago.io is a database of sharable World of Warcraft addon elements
(and you obviously have insane uptime issues, you need to learn to stick on your target)
You also talk about "stat prio" when stat prio has absolutely no say in how well you should be performing. The reality is that mastery often outperforms critical strike chance in single target. But that's also irrelevant when you can simply sim your gear to see what gear outperforms other items.
I'd also like to add that you're incredibly inefficient in your opportunist proc usage, causing me to think that you don't actually know how to play around that. I'm happy to elaborate on that if you're unsure.
@dark quest Thank you so much for the explanation, I definitely wasn't aware of how important prioritizing Juggernaut uptime is. If you could elaborate on what you mean by playing around opportunist proc usage that would be amazing.
pressing overpower as soon as you get opportunist
Okay, I have been trying to do that as much as possible. So outside of execute should it always be OP w/ opportunist > MS > OP > Slam (not including executes) and is there any situation where you should use whirlwind?
i havent checked if slam is above ww in st
but its just execute conditions > opportunist > ms > op > slam
ww could be used walking away ig
it may have gotten better in recent changes but that button is simply near useless
Are there any recommendations on where to practice non-execute range rotation, the training dummies go down to 0 health in like 1-2mins, do I just wait for them to heal and go again?
Or do I just spam join normal/heroic pugs to practice
ask in #arms someone might know - i know that some dummies dont lose hp but unfortunately i dont remember which ones
