  • You have to work on your opener, it doesnt feel like its in a particular order:
I usually do this as thane:
Ravager on the pack -> Reck -> Charge -> Avatar -> Rampage -> Roar -> blast , you have to do the TB quite fast before the first ravager tick since ravager could give you another blast stack (you dont wanna overcap), practice this on dummies

  • As thane Whirlwind and Thunder clap have the same effects, so you usually use thunder clap/thunder blast as a replacement, you rarely use whirlwind, so you usually do blast or clap into 4 single target abilities and then you do it again, thunder clap is your whirlwind

  • Execute is useless as thane, you probably will only cast 1 or 2 per dungeon since its a dead ability for us so dont use it, its last prio

  • Use raging blow more, its a decent chunk of damage and buffs the rest of our kit, on the left I put casts from a 13 theater I did, on the right you can see that you have basically half of its uses

What Daurek said is quite accurate, but I feel the core feedback isn't emphasized enough.

DON'T press Whirlwind.
along with
Do not press Execute (unless you have nothing else to press)

Once those two key feedback nodes are worked on, you can start thinking about when to press BT vs when to press RB, as they seemingly do similar things, yet one is better for heavy aoe while the other is better for 5 (or less) targets

I mean they are still cases when pressing whirlwind is a good option but its quite rare though, for example you're going to the next pack with 100 Rage and 1 blast stack, the best option here is to WW -> Rampage -> blast, again, its a minor improvement but it lets you cleave that first rampage without wasting a blast

well yea but that's some high high end optimization, unfit for beginner learners

thankyou guys preciate the info this is overall data i done for an 11 floodgate ive switched out ww for slam and change my opener

what? no. you also shouldnt use slam. Mountain Thane's filler of choice is thunder clap.

#

your main damaging abilities are raging blow, bloodthirst and rampage - you have thunderclap to trigger the meat cleaver talent (please read it). You're able to get blast , which you also want to use whenever it procs.

If you ever don't have raging blow, bloodthirst or rampage available to you - press thunderclap (aoe) or execute (single target). Not slam. Not whirlwind. Those are not thanes filler buttons.

#

you should have zero slam casts and maximum 5 whirlwind casts in an entire dungeon based on probability

OK well I done a 12 psf erlier and manage to get my overall average was 2.8mil which is better than what I was achieving that's just by switching the rotation and using rb more

OK I can see the dps increase now I've started using rb more

#

I do preciate the help though the more and more I can understand the class the more dps I can output to actually make it feel like I'm helping lol

#

Love playing the class just wish the dps was on par with the others big packs stuck on dust under 8mil then look over and the hunters doing 25mil on same pack it's just annoying

yea fury isnt the greatest m+ spec but you should still play into fury's strengths - deleting priority targets. You may not have the biggest number on the dps meter, but you make a key very easy if you're able to prio down some heavy hitting enemies
