Just a prelim compare against a leading prot warrior, looks like im
over casting TC
undercasting shield charge, demolish, demo and avatar

So i guess that would be the first area of improvement

dire basin
#

you took a lot of unblocked hits

#

heres me in a 10 ToP for example

#

you hit thunderclap and Ignore Pain way to much for Colossus

#

me in that same 10 ToP for comparision

TC will have a higher representation in ToP specifically as you spend a larger amount of time in ST or similar sorts of situations, making the rage gen of TC more important to keep up execute/just basic funding.

Also, in the immediate timeframe, Dhova will actually need to be sending more IP, as throughout the dungeon, there was a total of 1586 rage wasted, so almost 16 entire rage bars worth. The large majority of wasted rage (717 to be exact) came from Shield Slam casts, so it's ultimately coming down to rage not being managed as well as it could by sending into IP to avoid overcapping. Outbursts are also almost 50/50 between Shield Slam and Thunder Clap, which is honestly pretty impressive for Colossus considering how much time you generally spend sending SS and Revenge over TC. It's likely that you're not tracking Outburst well enough, which means you're getting bursts of rage you're not expecting, leading into the large amount of wasted rage from Shield Slam.

You've already noted it on your end, but undersending your CDs is definitely hurting you. You've even got 4p, which has CDR on Shield Charge, yet you're not even using it on base CD, let alone reduced CD

#

That's likely where a good portion of unblocked hits are coming from, but your numbers are going to be slightly skewed since you had the miniboss that reduces block chance by 100%, so even with shield block, you didn't actually have 100% block chance

#

Not enough to make up a difference, though; you're not having as much SB uptime as you should, and you're also getting just flat clipped in the back a non-zero amount of times

#

You took 86 hits overall without SB up just at all

#

You also only used your trinket once at all through the entire dungeon, so I'd recommend trying to grab a passive trinket for the immediate timeframe while working to improve.

My recommendation for what to work on in the immediate time frame is:

  1. Make sure you're tracking your CDs in a way that's comfortable to you, then make sure to practice on a dummy that you're sending them raw on CD. Don't worry about holding them or anything; there's relatively few situations where holding CDs is beneficial for Prot Warrior since their CDs are generally so low and more casts is better than less casts.

  2. After getting comfortable just sending CDs on CD, then work on watching your rage bar. When it gets to ~70 or so, just send IP to make sure you don't overcap rage. You'll gain more value from fueling Anger Management and Outbursts than just letting the rage waste, so it's a good muscle memory to build. Again, best way to build muscle memory is by swinging at a dummy.

  3. After both of the above, make sure you're tracking Outburst, then be sure to send it on Shield Slam in pretty much all cases. This will combine with the above point, as Outbursted Shield Slams also generate a lot more rage, so it'll be important to make sure you're managing your rage so you don't waste any. You can comfortably send Outburst on Shield Slam in pretty much every scenario, both ST and AOE, so you don't need to worry about trying to send Outburst on TC at all. The only reason to do so is damage optimization at major target counts, so you can tell yourself you're being safer by optimizing rage gen and calling it a day for now.

As a note, when I say dummy use, it's important to not actually spend too much time on the dummies; for the large majority of people, the best way to train muscle memory is frequent, short, and intentional bursts of repetition to reinforce to your body that this is something you're doing often, so it's important for your muscles to memorize the motions. So do like 5-10 minutes of just intentionally practicing whatever you're working on, then move on to playing the game, doing homework, do chores around the house, whatever. Just like 5-10 minutes here and there, every day, and you'll see results pretty fast.

Wow, i was not expecting such a detailled breakdown. The rage cap wasting for sure is a no-brainer improvement area.

Appreciate the insights, will put in the dummy time and then maybe a few more runs see if I can improve
Agreed, the number of unblocked hits can only be explained by ineffective of shield block, maybe i was sending it wrong time.

True im not tracking outburst atm. Porbably need to understand it more before i can effectively use it
