Hello, I’m a relatively newbie player, playing Fury Warrior for the first time and this last I’ve been introduced to logs and parses.

My damage has been okay, but I want to improve. I have followed the advice from WoWanalyzer, but I am still not satisfied when I compare my logs to other players.

Here is a comparison of my Vexie fight dps with another player high on parses. Notice the damage of the rampages - even though the amount of casts is identical, the damage difference is big.

WowAnalyzer claims I did a good job.

What am I missing? I really appreciate anyone willing to help me out.

It seems like you're using a lot more BTs and a lot fewer RBs; RB generally does more damage than BT and also gives the Slaughtering Strikes buff which increases your Rampage damage (this probably explains much of the difference)

Another thing I noticed is you did 5 cars, which is good for your raid but bad for your parse - ideally you'd have a healer do those so you don't have to, but it is what it is. You did however send in a car during your cds at 1:47 which cost you about 6 seconds of your cds

The damage amp phase happened around 1:55 and it looks like you sent BS right before that, so you could've for sure fit a second BS during that. Fight lengths can be difficult to predict, especially in pugs, but it might also have been worth it to save your 1:30 ava/roar for the intermission as well, as long as it doesn't mean you miss a cast over the course of the fight (also should held your pot for lust + damage amp)

Also other things of potential note, you also send your BS without enrage at 3:58, and you seem to overuse execute, which is probably less important on fights where you don't use Ashen Juggernaut, but still those globals would be better spent on RB

FWIW, wowanalyzer doesn't currently check for RB vs BT prio, it's on my to-do list along with about 145 other things

I certainly did not expect such an in-depth answer! Thank you so much for dedicating your time to finding my mistakes.

So rotation-wise it is much better to use RBs, I assume I should be using BT when I have 3-4 stacks of Bloodcraze and as a filler when RB is on cd? Also, I assume casting BT more often when enemy is below 35% HP (due to Vicious Contempt talent)?
Regarding Execute, should I try avoiding it completely and use it only as a last resort filler, or is it okay to use when I have 3 stacks of Marked for Execution?

The quick and easy answer is that you use these two weakauras
BT: #updates-midnight message
Exe: #fury message

And you prio RB over BT/exe until those weakauras go kaching and glow, in which case you press BT/exe instead.

The long answer to your question
BT vs RB:

  • Outside of VC range, 3-4 stacks of bloodcraze is a decent enough rule of thumb, but what you actually care about is ~85+% crit chance (which can be a broad range of bloodcraze stacks based on reck, 4pc, pacemaker, alchemical chaos flask, etc.) - that's what the linked weakaura tracks
  • Inside VC range, anywhere from 30-70% crit was all roughly the same; I don't actually know what Archi used for his weakaura, but I use 2xBC in mine as a rule of thumb
  • As a filler if you have no RB and can't rampage yet is correct

Exe vs RB:

  • Exe by itself kind of sucks, and its only real value comes from MFE stacks (and ashen juggernaut, if you're playing that)
  • Exe is your top priority when at 3xMFE, 2x Sudden Death with <7s remaining (so you can use both charges), 1x Sudden Death that's about to expire (<2s), or Ashen Juggernaut is about to expire
  • Outside of those cases, you're correct that execute is basically a last resort filler only over WW/slam

Disclaimer: I don't actually use either of the linked weakauras. My BT weakaura is basically the same as Archi's but worse, and my exe weakaura is kind of the same as Cone's but it's visually pretty different for my own UI, and it doesn't kaching

I will certainly check everything out once I have the opportunity. Guess I need to start paying more attention to my buffs from now on!

Once again, thank you so much, I couldn’t ask for a better answer to my post, and that quick too! Have a great day!
