My point is not that they are as much meant to a healer as DPS and they are just happened to be amazing healers.
If the idea of a class was that they only should do this one thing then they should have noted that instead of saying that paladins are healers tanks and DPS with their description not saying. you spend a lot of gold on consmes and time on world buffs. dying will cost a lot. its worth not to piss it away because the lotus was the drop that overfilled the glass.

For Human warrior pre-raid, is Dal rends what I should focus on, or will Stormstrike Hammer & +2maces ZG hammer compete? I've seen the ZG hammer sucks, but the +2 will still drop glancing blow reduction a good bit.
And then, what's the next step from there?

Stormstrike+Mirah's or QS+Mirah's pre-raid IMO. Crafting Ebon Hand should also be mentioned. I wouldn't bother with Dal Rend this late personally. I think Rend swords are still technically better than SS/QS+Mirah's but the effort isn't worth to farm it over settling for beforementioned.
After that it is basically Viskag/CTS+BB/Mala. Warblade OH is an alternative to BB for OH. Warblade MH+OH set is also a solid choice to upgrade your pre-raids with. Don't sleep on Spineshatter from Razorgore as human either.
Head over to classic warrior discord (link in the pins here) and use the sim resources there to figure out what would be best.

I use Spirit of Zanza as my battle elixer which when combined with the aformentioned world buffs gives me a HP buffer similar to a titan flask.
I'm entertaining the idea of Flask of Supreme Power + Greater Arcane Elixir + Dragonbreath Chili for AQ

because Dragonbreath has a 1:1 SP scaling ratio and it can crit
so you can get 400 damage breath cleave crits on an infinite number of melee targets

arms will never perform as well as fury, but if you currently raid as arms and your guild is fine with it, i dont see any issue for you in aq and naxx

@slender scarab Sounds like an interesting idea, try it out in a dungeon. As for lotus, yes hp flasks, guild requires them on speed clears. I don't actually agree with it, but was worth in progression, not really worth it now.

For me, i just did as many quests as possible. If you have tons of time on your hands, go for it. Got my dwarf warrior up to 60 in roughly 4 play sessions (each roughly 4-6 hours).

I guess? I just did a bunch of the starting quests, starting in Dun Morogh and getting to the Athari Highlands before getting to 60. At one point my dad came in and I re-did some quests, so that definitely helped.
And don't skip ANY quests. Do them all to get the maximum amount of xp.

Hey guys! I need help with a classic weak aura :) I am looking for a trigger for my ranged shot (bow/xbow/gun). What i want is to create the opposite of a "swing" action. Basically, when i press "Shoot Bow" a progress bar pops, and when it reaches the end its when the arrow shoots.
Note: I dont mind doing it in a way where i need to manually set my weapon speed in the WA every time that i change weapons.

Think of it like this: Basically what is the swing? Its the "CD" of your weapon (weapon speed), so it starts counting after your every hit (because the 1st hit happens immediately). What i want is a timer indicating when the first shot (arrow/bullet) will shoot, which is essentially the speed of the ranged weapon. Imagine it like a cast bar that begins when you press Shoot Bow and ends when it shoots.
Rix above suggested the "attack bar" addon (aka Abar Classic) but that is not customizable hence it stands out from the rest of my UI.

@mellow steppe if u have the hakkari set, then u have 11 skill. With that u need 5.4 hit, so don't go with less than 6. More than 6, increases your dps but less so its okay if u have more than 6 but f u can have crit or ap instead, go for it

Hi friends. I'm a 52 warrior and I've been leveling pretty casually with my priest friend (usually 10hr/week). We hope to raid a bit when we hit 60, but we'll almost certainly be pugging on the weekends because we're on opposite coasts and can't really commit to a weeknight raid guild. I've been arms tanking dungeons during the leveling process, but is there any point in doing pre-bis quests for tank gear? I figure there are enough geared tanks out there already that pugging ZG/MC will just be a smoother process if I let other people tank (and my gear will be so far behind that I'll never hold aggro). Thoughts here? Should I just be setting myself up for fury?

@trail basin Just pick up the zg bracers and belt from zg both very good for tanking and dps get the sacrificial gauntlets and bloodsoaked legplates from zg as well, the abysall legplates of striking are also a really good option you can buy from ah(plate version ideally especially for tank tho you can get mail for cheaper for dps) can't think of any dungeon gear that's good other than hoj sgc (brd arena and angerforge) and diamond flask from your class quest in sunken temple

depends how fresh your char is. If you got bad gear might be wiser to stick to rock eles in like Badlands/Arathi. Also check wowhead for Logistic Badge quests. The materials used for those will spike in price and there is plenty of crap you need from low to mid lvl content.

ap is better, crit is depending on world buffs etc. hit is still good, but you don't sacrifice other stats for it, if you have great items that have hit and you are going higher, you use them anyways.

You tank most mobs with a two hander in dungeons. As for the Av question you can get the ranged option. But for a 51 the spear is a nice leveling weapon. Plenty of other weapon options though. I would only do spear if I had a fully geared guild that I’d likely get a bow in mc quickly from.

@worldly dagger sadly thats how it works xD I done dungeons using 2H on normal mobs, then went 1H+S on bosses (for shield block). But ask your healer if its okay for you to use 2H 🙂

set a focus target and let some dps off-tank while you grab the rest. generally should use 2h for SS + WW combo, then sit in def stance with BS, Demo and Cleave for aoe tanking. also try to pool rage for next pull. but also nothing you can do if dps is undisciplined. primary role is to keep healer alive. everyone else should have means to off-tank or cc/kite loose mobs.
and depending on your setup it can be better to just let mages/locks do their aoe thing while you're taking care of ranged/casters

Macros help with stance dancing a good bit. In general as arms you want to charge -> sweeping strikes - > swap to beserker and whirlwind. But you want to be able to swap to battle as well to overpower when it procs @worldly dagger

ye thats just low level dungeoning. Set a macro to put skull on your main target and tab sunder. Your dps will have to focus one target and healer prepared to heal other targets if they pull off. I reccommend charging in and trying to get a quick SS -> WW then swap to shield if you can. helps with threat a bit. Also pool rage at the end of a pull for the next pack.

"Most guilds" don't prio axes to orcs. Most tryhard guilds yes but there's way more casual and semi casual guilds than hardcore ones, and even more hardcore that aren't going to prio axes to orcs over memerace with edgies.

Depends what you want to accomplish, if your guild sucks, and you don't care to be top notch, but still put in effort with some buffs, your dps will be reasonable, but much much lower than what it could be. Arms is great in dungeons still, for tanking and dps.

Arms is significantly worse on bosses + already mentioned debuff slot + way worse scaling with gear/consumes/wbuffs. Fury can/should wear 2h for cleaving trash. most trash packs fall over anyway. TLDR: Arms is a no-go for raids. we sometimes still have an Arms in ZG/Ony/MC because who cares but that doesn't change the fact that Arms is very sub-optimal for raids.

Don’t do orange or yellow quests. Don’t overpull. What abilities are you using? Sunder to 50% and white hit. Save rage for next mob and pump sunders. Changes once you get WW/MS . Classic warrior discord has good tips (invite link in the pins here)

Yeah, what he said. Big thing is to do green level stuff. I did not find warrior leveling that bad at all. If you are still having trouble you can level in dungeons which I advice to get into any time possible anyways for the gear, experience, and just to break up the questing monotony

@kind geode Lionheart for sure. You wont even replace it in Naxx most likely. Titanic Leggings on the other hand can be replaced in AQ40 if your able to get the Conq leggings. Depending on your gear they may sim like 1 less DPS or something but you get like 25 stam or something and some other defensive benefits like armor and I think +defense. With my current gear the Conqs sim slightly higher even in DPS alone
plus if you want to pick up the Titanic Leggings I believe the price will only go down. Arcanite bars on my server have already gone from like 95g to low 80s in the past few days

at this stage if you cant afford it, getting the aged core leather gloves and a dagger set up is not terrible. and they're not that hard to get if you do MC, most people that need them have them.
And in the mean time you could get distracting dagger or muggers belt to compensate

@frozen nexus deep prot is fine for casual raiding and if your dps are not pushing hard. 11/5/31 +4 free points based on situation/preference. avoid Anticipation or stacking +defense like a clown (it's a trap...). stack stam/armor. agi/dodge/parry are also good. also str/block value for better shield slams. make sure to be hit-capped.

not really. can be useful for a rogue dueling warriors. used to be good in very early TBC for Moroes boss fight but that also got nerfed quickly so no reason to keep it for that eventually. it's still sitting in my bank because of its unique effect and because you can't get it otherwise but might as well sell it if you need bank space.

most of the fury talent scales well with gear but since your lvling your stats are shit. flurry relies on consistent crits for uptime, death wish is a % based dmg modifier that also costs armor. BT is 45% of AP, bloodcraze is a % of hp. Only thing good in Fury tree is the 5% crit for lvling. utility like piercing howl isnt that big since you might as well hamstring 2-3 targets and run if it comes to that.
arms offer on demand aoe with sweeping strike to combo with both MS and WW for burst dmg. this is also useful for pretty much all dungeons up to BRD since you should be able to 2h tank everything in most cases. MS scales with weapon dmg and there are many easy to get 2hs on the way to 60. with axes specifically you can pick up axe spec in arms tree and later the 5 crit for fury which ends up being a respectable amount of crit as you lvl late 40s and beyond.

You don’t even care about those things you mentioned. Blood craze, blood thirst I wouldn’t even take while leveling. But cruelty enrage flurry are all absolutely amazing. There’s a lot of fluff in arms tree, things like impale being a trap. You compensate for things like ss by using cleave. Ss will be more aoe burst but when I swapped out of flurry for ss while leveling my overall was very similar. I never once was beaten in overall while leveling dungeons as a warrior unless I was under level for the dungeon. Even now with a 30 fury build 21 arms, no ms warrior can even touch it. Also keep in mind with an arms build you don’t use ww and ms with ss. You ww and cleave with ss on multi target.

This is some insane advice not to mention straight up confirmation bias. Obviously you are going to MS when it’s your hardest hitting ability. Only reason you’d actually dump on HS/Cleave is if rage permits. Go arms, get MS and don’t reinvent the wheel. Okay, for dungeon grinding at 60 deep arms is certainly better than deep fury and even more so without much gear. However for raiding deep fury is better and if you go deep fury without BT you should KYS.
For levelling you want to start out with 5 points in cruelty(fury) and then go arms and pick up deflection, improved charge, improved rend, improved OP and deep wounds. rest is straight forward. Once you reach lvl 40 you respec and then go full arms for mortal strike.
You can also pick up anger management if you want, it is pretty nice to have.
However, fury offers little to nothing for levelling. Anything but cruelty is shit for levelling.

While leveling in dungeons you flat out don’t ms over cleave when you have multiple mobs. It’s a great leveling build, way underrated. Just because the masses don’t use it doesn’t make it bad. It’s hardly insane advice, you obviously haven’t experienced doubling every other warriors damage while leveling or you wouldn’t act like it’s such a big deal. And enforcer I wouldnt suggest this build for normal raiding. I did it once for a bwl split and the total aoe in comparison to the rest was hilarious. I thought I’d be at a huge disadvantage for encounter damage but only had one warrior barely beat me there. I could still see it being viable for speed clear possibly. It’s flat out fun too. You guys can knock on it all you want but where it excels is in aoe, and in a leveling situation where you spend a lot of time in dungeons. I simply won’t just stop recommending it or back off from my stance on it. Do the safe build if you want, save your precious coins if you’re scared to try something else. Enforcer enrage and flurry is insane for leveling.

- AQ20: cc rep and new rank on BS/HS prio 1. Earthstrike requires exalted, warrior cloak that is BIS requires revered. bow, bracers. if youre human you also have Sand Polished Hammer to go for.
- ZG: rep for 30 ap on shoulder as prio 1. you also have a lot of decent catch up items for bracer, chest, range, shoulder, legs, rings and weapon.
- Badge grind. Look it up on wowhead. Tl, dr: you need 20/20/15 of 3 specific badges + exalted to complete quest for Earthstrike
- Cold daggers for Viscidus
- NR gear for Visci/Huhu
- Skill engineering so you can use sappers if you did not have it
- Gold: never bad to have gold

There wasn’t much for war gear in mc. But if you are showing up full world buffs could still be competitive. Most of what he mentioned will be useful even when naxx, you’ll likely run aq then too.

I have a question for yall. Abusing the Heroic Strike bug...yay or nay? Fight club says its not worth it and is like a 1% dps increase. Im currently using daggers becuase im a meme spec and dont have edgies yet so I havent tried it because it seems too hectic with daggers either way. But yay or nay on Fight Clubs analysis

with full consumes and world buffs and super fast kill times you practically dont need to queue cus you dont run out of rage

but like i wrote, if you fuck it up and delay bt/ww cus you didnt cancel HS you end up with net dps loss
its worth practicing either way. but if it feels too overwhelming/not worth it for the level you play at then dont bother
just dont HS if your around 50 rage to ensure you always can dump bt and ww on cd
in general it will be much harder to HS queue with dagger. a swingtimer you want regardless. doesnt automatically make it easier.

For gearing I'd use Fight Clubs P5 pre-bis dps list for things to work on if youre gearing to get into raiding. That being said the list is a true pre-bis so it doesnt include rank gear. R10 is not that hard anymore on most servers. It also does not incldue ZG/AQ20 which in a way can be treated as pseudo pre-bis since it is way more accessible content with 3 day resets. Dungeons also have some nice value items to use as placeholders.

21/30 has some uses for cleave when you have more gear but you lose out on a lot of ST DPS. So unless you want to constantly switch specs to go do Strath (which already should be piss easy considering the gear you should have to play this spec) and then switch to deep fury again for raiding or even DM jump runs. Go ahead I guess...
21/30 spec is made by some twitch streamer that thinks he is the best and has so too many fan boys that basically spread it as superiour to everything else spec.

it's not misinformation its godly for cleave and dungeons, and if you have windfury the single target loss is minimal, non issue in a dungeon. I don't even know what streamer you guys are talking about. I did mention both specs, gave him a nice or, so if he doesn't want to be adventurous he can go the standard spec. I've been using this since day 1. for leveling and dungeon grinding. I even have a raid log with it to test it out, and I was still on par with the top war that run in encounters metric, and then my overall enounters+trash was miles ahead of everyone. It is perfectly valid to bring up for certain purposes.... like dungeon grinding.

ok i have a question about the Diamond flask you get from ST quest line. i know ofc its the best option from the quest but my warrior is my alt and am thinking about taking helmet sense im never going to raid and i don't want to buy him a lion heart so close to the end of classic. However befor i do this is the diamond flask ever used in future expansions like TBC? this might be a dumb question

@frosty meteor You can get Eye of Rend which drops in strath. I would still take Diamond flask because it gives you a lot of benefit even outside of raids and Fury Visor is not only easily replaced by Lionheart(which who knows you might someday want to buy) but Eye of Rend is as good or better than Fury Visor anyways

IMO 20s to mid 30s is the worst part because you lack good active skills. you really have to fish for OP procs with SA/Hamstring all the time. once you get WW + SS it really picks up. also make sure to maintain decent weapon progression at all times.

Just don’t be afraid to sunder armor. 5 points in cruelty really helps the early levels. I just did first 30 without it and hated it.

3/32/16 - imp HS variation, anticipation instead of shield spec + shield block.
0/32/17 - 1/3 shield block variation. 2 last points could be 2/2 taunt or 2/3 sunder. IMO 2/2 taunt will be better. Its still useful for the trash in all 3 raids not mentioning 20mans. But it doesnt really matter.
Lifegiving doesnt replace last stand, its just a trinket you can rotate in depending what you need.

My first war I saved money. But this one I put crusader on ww and on ravager. And on Kang for when I get 44. I had like 35 orbs though since their prices dropped no reason to sell. Not really going to speed you up too much but the healing is nice and if you like to pump 200 ap is potent.

First war I used ravager/ww until maraudon. Then I bought twig of the world tree.

if you go Polearms you can't get imp. Hamstring which absolutely does matter for PvP. so Axes/Swords are the better option. not that important for leveling, though.
and agreed, try to get Ravager. it's nuts and will easily carry you until 48-ish level. proc effect can still be useful situationally on higher levels. then try to get a Gatorbite Axe from Mara or some decent BoE in the late 40s.

i wouldnt trust any guides in regards to what mats are worth vendoring. heavy leathers for armor kits that people might still buy for more rounds of badge grinds. same with mid tier herbs for all kinds of potions. frequent puggers might settle for smaller nature pots in aq which you craft with kelp and liferoot. there might be a market.
best tip is to check wowhead what they are used for to craft and check ah prices. keep in mind we also have naxx still coming so some things might spike come that. can depend a lot on server, day of the week and time of the day. also depends what type of auctioning you can be arsed to do. (<5g shit for example)

you can (semi-)automate most of AH if you put in a little bit of work so not doing it is pretty dumb
it's like a one time effort of setting up TSM (which there are guides for) to reap long-term rewards
on vendoring low/mid level mats: it highly depends on your server's economy. can't generalize. stuff like peaceblooms, bruiseweeds are often not worth bothering with. but liferoot and swiftthistle can sell for good prices

Shamans place a totem that gives melee users a chance to get extra attacks with added attack power. This in turn gives you extra rage to use on abilities. Makes you feel like a god.

Also agree 3 months it too long. And you dont need hoj at all. Not only that but you can get to a point where youre doing dps thats nearly on par with fully geared warriors just by having WBs. When you have full WBs the difference between your belt that has 15 strength and 1 hit, and Onslaught is slim. If you are in a casual guild then same scenario except you will be beating any warrior that doesnt have WBs(or only 1 or 2)

your only requirements to start raiding are: get to lvl 60, get some decent pre-raid gear and find a guild.

Would love some advice here, so i'm trying to figure out which MH's are best to use for me, i'm a troll using edgemasters. Would it be the Armament axe / CTS or Qiraji Ripper? some reasoning behind it would be lovely, as it's kinda a guild discussion going on

cts offers better scaling due to its stats for a warrior compared to aqr considering ZG buff. while, at least on alliance, aqrs stats are slighly better for rogue compared to cts. but its overall pretty nitpicky differenciation and i'd treat them equal. on horde swords might be rogue prio though, so if they are not available i'd go for armament axe. that being said p5 edgemaster bis is cts+pugio for mh/oh combo.
if your picking freely on a buffé then i'd aim for CTS mh and instead use an armament later and go for pugio oh. i wouldnt worry about pugio if i had something in the same caliber for example crul. obviously armament quest can be done twice and you could also end up using armament axe/dagger which is fine. generally its a bit greedy and ineffective gearing to give 2x armaments so one person can upgrade his oh before someone else has gotten a chance to upgrade their mh :)
if you want to be purely practical go for whatever drops first if you can. armament axe is very nice mh, its orc bis and you should not be unhappy even if cts drops the next week.

according my sims none of the above, as a tauren
crul/pugio was solid if I had haste librams and enchant. but the best was aqr/pugio. Dunno why they would give you two armaments if you have crul though.

Warrior is very basic. Are you comparing world buffed and consumed warriors to non? Because that’s drastic. You can look at bloodthirst cpm. Look at what else they are doing in logs. But In general warrior is very easy to play. So define what poorly performing is and find out if they really have no clue how to play a warrior. Fight club discord explains the basics.

Death is an important factor to check. After losing WBs it doesnt matter if they are doing everything else right. If your warriors are dying look into the reason and what part of the raid the deaths happen. Is there a trend? Maybe its overall strategy that needs to be looked at or, most likely, individual player needs to understand why he is dying and how to avoid it.
Trash vs Boss dps is also very important. Might have a guy pumping bosses but slacking on trash and someone else its the opposite. Maybe trash pumper is investing more resources during trash? Tanking duties also need to be considered when looking at trash dps.
Some suggestions for parameters to check for overview comparison:
Total Boss dps
Total trash dps
Deaths
Death Wish uptime
Number of rage potion, diamond flask/earthstrike/badge of the swarmguard usages
Defensive potion usage (LIP, protection potions, anti-venoms)
BT and WW cpm
Buffs, consumes

Which class is more difficult than a warrior? Not that they are difficult but rather that any other classes ive played are just not difficult. Especially caster
I havent played rogue very much but they seem to be about on par or simpler than a warrior from my limited play time

if we're talking in absolutes then nothing is difficult in classic. but relatively speaking: meleeweaving hunter and shapeshifting feral are probably most difficult or about the same as min-maxed warriors and maybe rogues.
