@balmy heron Mark a target skull, when you run in, auto attack the other mob then sunder/taunt the skull mob. You'll want to swap back to the off-mob occasionally just to keep aggro off the healer.
Same principle on 3+ mobs. Just tell your dps to hold back til you have sunders on the main mob. When you charge in, get an auto attack/sunders on the off mobs and attack the main mob last. I attack the skull mob last, because if it runs away the dps can cover for you and keep it off the healer without running about for taunts.
@sudden pier Depends on your gear, really.
But, lets just assume you need 33% crit for 100% flurry uptime, that means that 1% crit = 3.03% flurry uptime.
In effect, 1% crit gives us 1% extra dps from crits, maybe 0.25% extra dps from rage gain, maybe +3.03% from flurry. That's 4.28% dps increase from 1% crit.
From what I can tell from swapping gear around and looking at my character panel, 1ap = 0.07 dps.
If I normally do 1000 dps 1% crit gives me 42.8 extra dps, To get 42.8 DPS from AP I'll need 61 AP.
If I normally do 500 dps, 1% crit gives me 21.4 extra dps. To get 21.4 DPS from AP I need 30.5 AP.
If I normally do 300 dps, 1% crit gives me 12.84 extra dps, To get 12.84 dps from AP I that I need 12AP.
I might be wrong, but that's a start.
idk if this is low grade bait
¯_(ツ)_/¯
but thats not how anything works at all
teach me senpai
atm in current gear, crit is worth roughly 30 AP
33% crit doesnt guarantee 100% flurry
no, its just rough numbers
and 14 AP may = 1 DPS, but will result in more than 1 DPS
yeo, rough numbers. Still, if you look with current gear we can pull around 500 dps and according to my math, that adds up. 1 crit = 30 ap.
im saying that the math stands
the math doesnt stand
its rough but its there
your math literally doesnt stand
If I normally do 1000 dps 1% crit gives me 42.8 extra dps, To get 42.8 DPS from AP I'll need 61 AP.
this is the most untrue statement ever written
🤔
I know how warrior works mate
go add 1 crit to literally any sim rn
and you will not get 42.8 DPS extra
in fact, I get about 7 with my set up
7 dps from 1 crit?
yup
Goes up to 12 when I put in my 2nd warriors gear (near full bis)
so we're still missing 30 DPS from your statement
¯_(ツ)_/¯
Seems like 1% crit is worth 1.5% dps. Wish I'd just gone to the sims first now
Hello. I'm level 49 (human) and still hanging on to WW Axe. What should I upgrade to?
Gatorbite axe in Mara has the highest dps at your level range from dungeons... You either want that or Grimlok's charge from ulda. I'd go with the axe.
Honestly though, if you can get yourself into an ST group. You get Headspike, Drakefang Butcher and Smoldering Claw in there

@spark delta thanks
Greetings! I know arms for raiding isn't suggested, but I'm looking for a build that I would use if I did. Haven't had any luck looking on wowhead/mmo-champ
Something like this and change weapon spec points around depending on what you use. https://classicdb.ch/?talent#LhGxzAboxzVVhVM
A content database for world of warcraft classic
thanks!
yea but what if
anyone got a link to BWL BiS for fury warrior?
Why wouldn't you take imp OP in that arms build @slender scarab
thought so, maybe im doing it wrong but i dont get a lot of fights where i can cast Charge.
Crusader or +15 str for DW? I think the math shows crusader is "better" but it is also more spike damage and harder to control threat. I am thinking the +15 str might be better for BWL and the threat mechanics there.
Are ppl using overpower as fury or not worth ? 1 talent in it that is
If you go with wbuffs and shit there's no time to switch to battlestance for op
You hit once, proc wf and allready have full rage bar
Im hooman tho
I can only speak to horde with wf, but I don’t have a chance to op either
I just sit in zerker stance
Hi all, I was wondering where thunderfury ranks for fury warriors. I’m not able to find a lot of info for it on dps output compared to other weapons.
If you wanna die a lot then tf is pretty good dps until you die
The threat from the proc isn’t worth
Unless you’re talking about fury prot
Question: how good is hammer of rag? What 2h in later tiers is equal for PVE dps? What DW setup is equal in PVE dps?
It is my understanding that if your weps are relatively equal for both setups then 2h is going to be superior for cleave encounters and DW for single target.
Bonereavers edge is better than hand of rag. Perd/cht is too. Hand of Rag is kinda meme status for pve
Bwl already cleared
In like an hour after it was released
Also 15 yrs ago
Wonder how long it takes them to get full world buffs for raid
people going to be having a nightfall in their raid?
one of the tanks to use or?
OT's
We have an enchantment shammy that wants to use it. Not the best class to proc it but if he wants to
Enh shammy bitch duty. Not like they do actual dps
Our enchantment shaman always gets some orange parses but even then doesn't come close to the warriors
yeah but what about
Anyone know what the crit cap is in classic?
I've just started seriously raiding on my warrior, fury/arms build. Currently I am dual wielding, but will be switching to a 2hander.
My guild wants me to keep thunderclap and demoralizing shout on bosses at all times, so was trying to make some macros for that, as well as battle shout.
Is there a good website that anyone can recommend detailed raiding Classic DPS warrior macros? Or are there any good macro writers / or recommenders here in this channel? Thanks!
Tried leveling a warrior in classic for the first time... You gentlemen have earned my respect....
That was/is a nightmare.
@fading canyon what do you want these macros to do?
I dunno what else you would possibly want to macro battleshout with
Hello guys, i currently have The Unstoppable Force as a 2H Fury. If i can get an Ashkandi how good is that ? I know BRE and Untamed Blade are better but is Ashkandi close to Untamed ?
Ashkandi should go to hunters
what's a good Flurry uptime for a fury/prot tank? Going through some logs and I get around 21-22% uptime. Is this high enough or should I go deep prot until I get more crit gear?
thats horrific uptime
Level mining and make your own arcanite!
I was in the same spot and went with lh
I just got the av mount once i hit exulted
AV is cancer
Yeah. It took me about 2 weeks to finish the rep farm and I'm never doing pvp again in classic
😂
Quel serrar, but if you’re an orc you want an axe
The fast HWL axe
Aclg and cht is also nice for tanking
@slender scarab I made a couple macros yesterday, but wasn't sure if there was something better. I hate forgetting to cast battle shout, so I macro'd it in to my charge/intercept macro. If I do not have rage, I'll switch to battle stance, charge, cast battleshout, then switch to berserker. If I do have rage, I'll intercept, cast battleshout. I shouldn't do this more than every minute-min and a half with the way we're pulling trash etc.
I then wrote a macro for clap that basically switches to battle stance, claps, then back to berserker. I am entertaining the idea of adding bloodrage to get a bit more rage when switching back to berserker.
But I wasn't sure if this was a big waste of rage, or there was a better way to go about this. (Sorry for the wall of text).
bro just press your buttons
Yea, you’re gonna end up in situations where you fuck yourself out of rage. Better to just have spells and use them when you need to. Make some weakauras to track battleshout and the like if you aren’t keeping stuff up
anyone can give some feedback on why this macro isnt working? :/
#showtooltip
/cast [mod:shift;stance:1] Defensive stance; [mod:shift;stance:3] Defensive stance; [mod:shift;stance:2] Challenging Shout; [stance:1] Defensive stance; [stance:3] Defensive stance; [stance:2] Shield block
basically i want to use shield block (and get switched to def. stance if needed) but if i press shift - then do the exact same with challenging shout
anyone here. is there a classic wow warrior discord
yeah check the pin in this channel
@fading canyon If you get weakauras you can make it to show when Bshout has or is running out. WA might be kind of intimidating at first but its really simple once you know what youre doing
Thanks. 🙂 I do have Weakauras, and enjoy using it. I have one for battleshout. I just wanted to see if there was anything else out there that would make it easier. Seems like from what you guys are saying, is just do it all manually.
And use weakauras to give you info on when it's expired, etc.
Yea pretty much. Otherwise you end up with pretty clumsy buttons and you dont get familiar with using them in different combinations to do different things
Flurry axe with pairing with deathbringer still at this point ? I’m assuming only thing better is gor’shorukh
Or a second deathbringer
What if I had vis’kag too
I’m assuming that’s still worse cause you gotta wear edgemasters
Definitely not ideal, yeah.
I dunno if it's better than flurry tho. You'd want to spreadsheet it to be sure.
yo just wondering, im currently equipping deathbringer/flurry axe, but is Doom's Edge for off-hand and Crul'shorukh, Edge of Chaos for main hand better now? im also wondering whats best, going 2h or going dual wield? like, going Drake Talon Cleaver (orc by the way)
Hey guys, some of the tanks in my guild are 0 iq and took the trinket from the ony quest. Prestors is pretty much the best thing for them rn right?
I got Deathbringer, Mirahs Song and Eskhandars right claw. Should I go for the right claw and DB or DB Mainhand and Song?
how important is annhilator?
are people actually using it?
OT using cant exactly spam hamstring due he would build no threat doing this
any thoughts?
I wouldn’t worry about it.
My guild is going to kill Vael for the 2nd time tonight and last week we had to do a tank change (slow dps) because my threat was low and DPS had to hold back. This week I changed from Death Bringer (2.9 speed) to Perdition's Blade (1.80 speed). (I am orc). I also added Heroic Strike to my macros for Vael.
So I have two questions.
-
Is this a good weapon change or should I stick with the axe?
-
Are these 3 tanking macros correct or is there anything I should add/remove?
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1crSBe6uwzbieR8-xxcGHijCVeOUc_UO1Pm3WxbKM928/edit?usp=sharing
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
It could be a good change if you have weapon skill. If you dont have weapon skill it likely is not a good change.
Do you have edgemasters/muggers belt/dagger gloves from mc?
Not sure why you would macro shield block to those skills. You dont need to shield block that often.
And if you do want to shield block that much just for vael I would still cast it on a separate bind.
wut lol
Perdition's Blade : 1724.6 TPS // 956 DPS
Core Hound Tooth : 1757.8 TPS // 967 DPS
Memeclaw (9%) : 1784.6 TPS // 975 DPS
Julie's Dagger : 1796.6 TPS // 969 DPS
Finkle's Skinner : 1811.7 TPS // 979 DPS
Alcor's Sunrazor : 1829.4 TPS // 991 DPS```
I wasn't wutting the dagger thing
yeah but what if
baby is right, im using a .7 speed level 5 dagger and I never lose aggro.
👀
hi - is this the main discord server for classic wow warriors? Seems this is primarily for Retail
In the pinned messages theres a link to the classic war discord
thi s the one where you
anyone know if i still need 9% hit as a human with a 2h axe? (2h fury spec)
or can i rock less hit?
@lofty tinsel you will want 9% hit. Missing with a 2h is a large dps loss
ok ty
If you have HoJ and Bladefist and, by the grace of god, get DFT which do you replace first
no
You replace blade fist first
But you should also be looking to heh the flask trinket or whatever it’s called
Gives you 75 stre for one min
Has anyone messed around with Darkmoon cars Maelstrom yet? Considering trying it with some daggers next raid
I have a question about the arms leveling spec, is unbridled wrath really better than booming voice?
^once 31 pts in arms that is
Hey, I got thunderfury but the damage part of the proc doesnt jump to other targets. Is this a bug or just how the weapon works?
Quick question wow classic related tooth of eranikus or axe of deep wounds for pre raid bis ranking (As an Orc)
Get Revered with Alterac Valley! Combo with either hatchet from stratholme or buy flurry axe
hello guys, is there any macros for overpower and charge whilst in fury spec to make stance dancing a little easier?
Hello, if u want a MH weapon from AH, Pre-raid go with Krol Blade or Quel'Serrar or neither?
(not human or orc)
@CaskerBang#1916 follow the discord link in the pins of this channel and check the macros and WA faq channel. There is one in there + other useful macros
Got a question for you all about firemaw-- seeing some videos where the fire stack is falling off of the MT, without the mt having to pillar.... how? Is it a certain threshold of fire resist?
Anyone got a bis list from aq40? want to cross reference the gear from bwl to see what are the "main" parts which will be kept in aq40 so can focus on getting them
master dragons slayer ring better than circle of applied force or? using fight club spreadsheet currently which says different, but surely the extra hit from master dragons isnt that bad?
@slender scarab yes, fire resist.
has anyone tried leveling as dual wield fury?
I have
DW fury is okay to level until after 55 bc you're still using the same weapons & gearing scales horribly
It becomes good once you get your hit chance at 60
Btw, does your weapon racial impact hit chance in PvP?
i think so but not majorly like in pve
Wpn skill has no impact in PVP. 5% hit vs lvl 60 is all you need. Fighting warriors with defensive gear might push hit required to 6 but nothing to actively gear for.
Tank
Hey guys, level 23 undead warrior here. What zone should I be in/dungeons I want to prioritize?
should I try to get the quest items or nah?
The warrior quest stuff at level 20
for the chestpiece and other stuff I think
Or is that a later level
i play druid in classic, so not sure
but i dont see why not
when there are no more yellow/green quests
you may have to go to stonetalon as well
NO do not get the warrior quest chest piece, waste of time
no get it
Yes get Brutal Hauberk, it's too good not to.
"Waste of time" how? It's quite good for a while.
how important is it to get 440 def? is it over all other stats? i currently have items with hit and 2x valor for 200 armor bonus. have to switch those items to get 440 otherwise i have 360
Anyone got a list of dagger rankings for tanking?
if you could PM me it would be appreciated
Does any1 have a working sim for warriors up? need to test 2 sets of gear vs eachother
There's an excel spreadsheet in the classic warrior discord for simming purposes. Although i heard it overvalues hit past yellowcap
How's this for a DPS Warrior?
What are you trying to achieve here? PvP, dungeon, raid?
PVE
mortal strike uses a debuff slot, most raid teams wont let you use it
so your dps will be pretty bad
in 5man content, it wont matter tho
that build is bad in too many ways, could be explained but aint nobody got time for that.
In that case, I'm going to @summer stratus and ask, but why?
you'll figure it out
Arms:
Improved Rend = more damage, that's good.
Improved Heroic Strike = more rage, that's also good.
Improved Charge = more rage, nice I like that.
Tactical Mastery = more rage when I stance dance, great.
Improved Overpower = More damage, awesome!
Deep Wounds = Even more damage, nice!
2H Spec = more damage, that's nice
Impale = more damage, just what I need
Sweeping Strikes = more cleave damage, that's also nice
Swrod Spec = As long as I don't have Sulfuras, Swords are the most common weapon type, makes sense.
Mortal Strike = More Damage, nice.
Fury:
Cruelty = More damage, great!
Unbridled Wrath = More rage, I'll take it.
Improved Cleave = More cleave damage, that's nice.
Improved Battle Shout = Even more damage, awesome.
Improved Execute = More rage, which also is nice to have.
The only thing I could see is replace Mortal Strike with Anger Management, to keep my momentum in dungeons, other than that, I see no major issues with the build.
So again, what's so bad with it? And if you can't explain it, then I'm going to assume you're just trolling.
@summer stratus
in dungeons you would keep mortal strike
rend is a dead skill
heroic strike also known as heroic slap
if you want 2h dps you'd go deep fury and likely use an axe
unless you're alliance, then a sword/mace
in general arms is a pvp spec, or a dungeon spec
not a raid spec
because your main damage skill, mortal strike
cant be used
as deep fury you get to use bloodthirst and slam
@shy saddle
for PVE imp charge is almost worthless, i have found few times where i actually get to use Charge. including where we are pooling rage so its better to just stay in berserker
anger management is a really good not to ignore.
yeah anger management is a top pick
sword spec is cool and all, but flurry is a million times better as its more consistent
standard DW build
https://classicdb.ch/?talent#LbhxkhbZVV0VgxoVo
standard 2h build
https://classicdb.ch/?talent#LbhxkGbZVV0V0EoVo
A content database for world of warcraft classic
for pve raids
its less about which talents you picked that are bad, but rather the talents you missed that are better
BT > MS for raiding
flurry is OP for raiding
imp slam is pretty much the only way 2h is viable, unless you are horde and can do some hamstring windfury spam
deathwish is a nice steroid
etc
and the fact of the matter is, @shy saddle, is that you don't have much discernment, you're reasoning for all talents is "more dmg" but some give more damage then others.
@shy saddle I’m not trolling, just a busy person, have some respect. Haven’t even read your whole post.
@summer stratus then why bother answering at all? It's a warrior classic discussion channel.
I gave him a simple answer, other people followed up with most the details, the rest he could easily find info on. It is not my responsibility to babysit the channel just because someone wants to be handed information.. You are kidding me right? My response was enough to let him know there were many issues with the build for what he wants to do.
"there are too many problems for me to list. i don't have time but someone else can help you out"
try that next time
Or, you all can get off my nuts about how I choose to respond in a discord.
The reality is that this information is already out there, and he should do some more digging and looking at material that already exists for some help if he's that far off.
just a suggestion
Is anybody in classic WoW looking for a new leveling group? Thinking about making a human warrior
Any warriors playing on endless.gg?
No discussion about private servers on this discord please
when is titanic legs recipe will be relased ?
p5
the standard blizzard action bar scrolls to 1,2,3 ect....
does bartender4 have this capability?
do action bar1, bar2 respond to macros?
with ZG in a month+ how good are ZG sword set if you are not an orc/human
So Diamond Flask usage. How do you guys use this? Just equip before pull, use, then put in different trinket? Can't use in a macro or anything?
Unfortunately if you unequip the flask the buff disappears :(
So my other trinkets are blackhand's breadth, and HoJ. It is 150 attack power and regen. Maybe I'm not that experienced, but is that good to remove either trinket for the flask with 2h fury also?
general rule of thumb is if flask is off CD, use it. and while its on CD swap back to BHB
its especially good on shorter fights since the duration is up all or most of the time
yeah but what about
sounds good, ty.
yeah but
@paper crown
So was wondering if Flurry Axe in combination with Maelstorm trinket and WF totem is a solid combo or just a silly pipe dream?
how much fire res would you reccomend for a tank on firemaw for flame buffet stacks to be dropping off and not having to run out to reset them yourself and tank swap?
because the debuff never seems to drop off our tank when using 170 res
You wanna be FR capped. Even then, depending on how fast you kill, you might still have to tank swap at least once.
170 is low.
is there a discord for noobs lol
looking for a wow classic orc warroir that wants to run together .... nnoob here tho
You can check your server's discord
Can anyone explain on fight clubs BiS spreadsheet for rank orc why they use strikers with a 8% hit build rather than blaster?
Wouldn’t the 1% crit be better
because striker's give ap as well as hit, would be my guess
But you’re already over hit without it. With it you’re +2 over hit
They have dft there which is 2% hit item you're not getting as fury any time soon
In our guild we use ep so warrior took 2nd dft(fury)
Been a really long time since I played this and have forgotten most things. Is Bonebiter still the best ST weapon at level 42 or should I buy a FWA or Nightblade?
Can someone pkease explain to me fury rotation?
Thank you and have a great day guys

anyone rank 14 here?
yea
@junior pumice I have DFT
Regardless your reasoning is misleading. Their build is based on the assumption you will have it
Can someone pkease explain to me fury rotation?
Thank you and have a great day guys
@normal talon Bloodthirst does great damge, being the final Fury talent and WW is an INSTANT attack. Instant attacks means weapon based procs (Crusader, WF, BRE/untamed) so you'd want to make sure theyre used off CD, heroic strike is filler to prevent rage cap.
what is the best spec for tanking with TF in BWL?
11/5/35
Another question about glancing blows. I currently have 7%+hit and OEB, but no edgemaster's handguards.
#1: I'm assuming I do not need to wear Edgemaster's because of the +8 skill to minimize the glancing penalty, is this correct? If it is, that means I need to wear Edgemaster's to reduce the penalty if I get Untamed Blade.
#2: There is a lot of mention of the glancing penalty reduction being removed with edgemaster's in patch 2.0. (Which means, edgemaster's no longer suppresses the glancing blow penalty) However, I am noticing not a large penalty when I am at 300 skill (unarmed for instance) and 9% hit right now. Is it possible they moved up this change to patch 1.13.3 or even today 1.13.4? I don't quite understand the exact math in determining the penalty.
Edgemasters doesn’t apply to two hand weapons. And fully world buffed with 9% hit you can do just fine. But not optimal. The answer is no on #2. So with your oeb drop down to 6% hit, then run 9 if you still want to two hand with a new weapon when you get it. But ideally your best dps will be while dual wielding.
Thanks. (embarrassed I didnt even think about the 2handed vs 1handed)
A lot of us didn’t notice initially.
As I was leveling, my guild that I started with wanted me to level my hunter, so I put my warrior on the backburner for a bit. Just now over the last month got into a great guild, and am focusing on the warrior now, but have missed out on a lot of details.
do warriors get glancing blows playing 2h
Yes, glancing on any weapon white hits. Fully buffed hittting more special attacks it’s not as bad. I played retail without edgemasters but had an insane set up.
you cant reduce your chance to glancing blow can you?
with weaponskill
to a point
but overall weaponskill as a stat has big diminishing returns passed the first 5, even more passed like 7ish
Yes, I get glancing blows quite a bit on lvl61 Blackhand Elites in UBRS. Most other stuff I don't at all however (even in MC/BWL), but wanted to improve my DPS as much as possible.
few questions after my first MC raids as tank:
-which is the best mainhand with a shield? CHT,Mirahs song or QS? (I'm troll, no edgemaster, no +dagger gear)
-I tried going with fury/prot but realized I get too much dmg (or maybe heals are not good enough yet ... it's a new twink raid) so I end up wearing a shield as fury/prot mostly. I don't see a real benefit (defensive) going deep prot over fury/prot right? is it maybe better for threat going deep prot over fury/prot with mostly wearing a shield?
-I struggle (not realy struggle but it's annoying) with those big earth elementals in trash (not the one that charge). they seem to have threat reset or something like that? i have like 300% threat and he is randomly running to someone and keep hitting them. do i miss something here ?
you dont really need to be fury prot for MC, and if your healers suck deep prot is better
Is 1 talent point into Overpower good for DW Fury warrirors?
IMO 1-2/2 imp OP is mostly relevant for non-raid activities like dungeons, grinding, pvp. But it’s not worth min-maxing for these activities since you can grind and do dungeons with ease regardless and if you are serious about pvp you should be arms. It probably is better to have 1 point in imp OP if you actually raid completely without any world buffs or consumes with mediocre gear (worse than prebis) but keep in mind any rage over 25 will be lost every time you swap between zerker stance and battle stance and you reset your swing timer. I’d suggest 3/3 imp HS over OP personally.
Thank you for this. I was thinking exactly the same thing. @steady palm
imo this wins for best raid wipe ever seen https://gfycat.com/neglecteddapperindianspinyloach
I like 1 point in imo OP if we aren’t guaranteed to keep buffs all raid. Hitting an OP crit is a good way to get flurry stacks rolling again.
hey, ive watched some BWL POV from a dude in APES, he's only running 6% hit, he's human with swords on him, im an orc with axes, should i be running only 6% hit and go as hard for crit as i can?
and also can i find a bis list for orcs somewhere that doesnt include pvp items?
hey, ive watched some BWL POV from a dude in APES, he's only running 6% hit, he's human with swords on him, im an orc with axes, should i be running only 6% hit and go as hard for crit as i can?
@pallid panther Yeah 6% is enough to not miss spells if u got +5 axes
Question- Is there a comprehensive list of BIS 2h Weapons outside of just icy-veins and WoWhead? I am looking into where Ashkandi falls vs other weapons.
If you are human then go dual wield. 2h is not viable for you. (same with any other alliance race)
If you are horde side then you 'can' use 2h but it isn't optimal and it only works for 2h axe on orcs.
So Ashkandi is shit in PvE
OEB is the only exception which all horde races could use well... Until they replace it with dual wield
hi, does race matter alot in terms of DPS difference? i have a 42 gnome warrior which i wanna do PvE and PvP with, now im thinking i should have made a human because they seem better at PvE and i guess doable in PvP, just wanna know if i should reroll because i could now that everything is in quarantine and i got loads of time to level
Just get edge masters and you're fine
leggards of fallen crusader drop for horde side?
No, fallen crusader is alliance only
Bis for orcs currently is something like this
Lhh
Ony
Dtp
Draconic might
Sgc
Stability
Fgg
Onslaught
Eldritch
Chromatic
Strikers
Qsr
Coaf
Db mh
Crul oh
Trinkets hoj bhb and flask pending fight length and wbuffs
You could throw don Julio’s in there and blastershot. But yeah if you are lucky enough to@have all that it’s a good set up.
You can find the BIS lis at the classic warrior discod. Link in the pins in this channel.
@prisma meteor not sure if you know the answer, but I have a few questions and I'm tagging you to get it going: is slam spec worth it as horde or stick with hamstring spam?; as a 2h tauren, should I be using HS as a rage dump still if BT and WW are on cd?
@distant saffron hi, quick questions for you since you seem to have your math down: at this point is slam build viable as horde?; should I be using HS as a rage dump if BT and WW are on CD?; can you give me the link for a quality online simulator that is easy to use
hi, quick questions for anyone who wants to answer: at this point is slam build viable as horde?; should I be using HS as a rage dump if BT and WW are on CD?; can you give me the link for a quality online simulator that is easy to use
i feel like the Warblade of Caer Darrow is kinda crap. https://classic.wowhead.com/item=13982/warblade-of-caer-darrow#comments
If you are playing a Tauren warrior then you made a mistake at character creation.
Slam build is viable but not good anymore as horde so just use hamstring spam.
Use HS if BT WW is on CD and you are using hamstring every global and you are about to be rage capped
Do not try to degrade someone for "picking the wrong race" @slender swift
Fight Club go down for anyone else?
Went down for me
Its being dealt with
My bad, what I meant was it will add nothing to you and a lot of online help will always assume you are orc.
Ight question as I am arguing with my Class lead on this. Anyone know if for Orcs is Deathbringer the best MH until Nefs axe?
If you check the discord in the pins they have BiS list options. Absolute orc bis would be DB MH, Crul OH according to that. But it’s pretty unrealistic if you have lots of warriors that need weapons. Typically people have one or the other at the moment, and then a different offhand. As the time progresses more people will get closer to “perfect” bis
Hu I cant seem to find them in this channel, I should have prefaced this was for a tank orc. DW or Sword and Board
Different question then but same principle. If you already have DB, don’t starve your other warriors of a weapon by taking a crul and putting DB in the bank or your offhand imo.
Discord has been having issues but there should be a fight club link in the pins whenever it’s working again
FAQs have lots of Info
Ah ya that's the discord one I normally check out but looks like its down right now
Taking on an OT roll since I have been the NF bitch since it came out and it makes sense. Have AV axe and Serathil now but trying to prove to him that DB is BiS tank weapon since we don't have other dps orcs that need it other than having a second
Is there an edgemasters example for fury tauren? the on on the spreadsheet seems to be for alliance
as tauren you should gear as a human but wear edgemasters. take swords/daggers, leave axes for orcs
Fight club still cactus i take it?
Fightclub is down due to too many members online and is currently at maximum amount of people online until people log off you cant see the server.
it's not down
I've been unable to access it for the last 6 hours
because you are stuck in queue
Is it still worth dropping cash on Axe of the Deep Woods and the devilsaur set as fresh 60 Fury? It's around 200g all up.
@lean forge axe is fine if you are an orc, as weapons are quite hard to come by. I would be getting the black dragonscale set instead, as hit is easy to get with BWL and the items are BIS or close to it until you get BWL loot.
Thanks for the response. The Black Dragonscale set is currently 4 times the price per piece compared to Devilsaur on my server. I also Haven't really got the time to commiyt to classic raids as i already raid in retail, so it sounds like a good investment.
yeah, if youre just doing dungeons and such and not looking to push for top parses then devilsaur is just fine
Wouldnt bother with AotDW as a starter weapon. Grind dungeons with something like sword of zeal/mass of mcgowan/ribsplitter (assuming they are cheaper) if you rly wanna take an auction house shortcut or simply settle for trash blade + mirahs. Alternatively pick up DFR from BRD and go 2h either arms or fury while pre-bis farming. I assume you are an orc so make revered AV a priority to buy the axe and get BSH from Strat UD for offhand. AotDW is replaced by revered AV (#1 pre-bus main hand) and why I wouldn’t bother unless you really have the money. But even then it be a sounder investment with BDS/LHH/Devilsaur.
Hello friends. For low-level arms tanking (WC, SFK, BFD), is it worth setting up a bunch of different equip macros? I am comfortable doing so but I'm at a point where I have to update a ton of macros every time I get a new weapon (which is basically every two hours or less in that level range). Is it really a huge efficiency loss to just sword/board these dungeons for the sake of simplicity?
I would use two hander as much as possible.
use a shield whenever something is hitting you
if you're tanking that should be everything until the end of the dungeon
I wouldn't say it's worth using equip macros
the efficiency you gain from taking less damage far outweighs the amount of extra damage you get from using a 2h
it's also much easier to hold threat at that level if you can block
that's the biggest load of garbage i've heard
your shield is about 40% of your armour
if you 2h tank you're taking over twice as much damage as you would if you were wearing a shield, and you don't actually do very much more damage
so no, you should wear a shield
but i suppose at that level it doesn't matter. you can pretty much do whatever you want
Use weapon swap macros all the way from your first set of weapons onward, it’s always worth it. It becomes more relevant when you get sweeping strike and whirlwind in the middle levels. You will probably use a shield more for very low level ranking but after that cleaving a pack for a few seconds then swapping back to your shield is very beneficial
@trail basin might be late now, but if you have item rack you can set up your sword and board / 2her on it
then you can use /itemrack equipset "blah blah blah"
in your macro
then you change the set opposed to each of the macros
actually nvm you cant change weapons via addon in classic
Hey was wondering as we get better gear, does AGI scale better than STR?
Opposite
20 agi 1 crit 20 str equal 40 ap
1 agi = 0,05% crit
20 agi = 1% crit
The equivalent of 1% crit is roughly calculated as 30 ap.
Str isn't strictly better than agi in vacuum but for in-depth discussion of the interaction of both ap and crit visit the official classic warrior discord (link in the pins here) where you will also find a dps sheet for gear comparison. It also depends a lot on context. Are you lvling, min-maxing for raid dps, arms pvp or pve tanking, what does your stats overall look like?
Generally, to compare two non trinket/weapon, a simple way is to convert the stats to AP and highest AP wins out (assuming hit cap).
LF Classic tank thats experienced in raiding. I'd like to interview you about gear, stats and all that.
like for example the importance of hit%
Aim for 6% and 5 weapon skill over anything
Do you think https://classic.wowhead.com/item=17711/elemental-rockridge-leggings or https://classic.wowhead.com/item=21316/leggings-of-the-ursa is better for a level 53 warrior who mostly does 5man dps and solo leveling?
This blue plate armor of item level 54 goes in the "Legs" slot. It is looted from Princess Theradras. Added in Classic World of Warcraft. Always up to date.
I'm going to guess that the crit is worth it.
which addon shows a castbar for heroic strike and others like it that dont have castbars?
ar-are you asking about a weapon swing timer addon?
I'm trying to figure out where my Crit is coming from on my character:
When I get naked on a level 60 Human warrior I show 11.64% Crit
5% from Fury Talents
4% from my 80 Base agility
Where is the other 2.64% coming from?
hi i just came back to classic like today, any new METAs discovered?
how would people rate Thunderfury for DPS? i mean which weapons are better? kel'thuzad weapons or any before?
TF is more of an epeen thing for DPS. It's good but it's not THAT good.
Problem with tf as fury dps is you get serious threat issues
If the situation is the dps has tf and the tank doesnt. If you have tf on both players it might not be worth even using the 2nd one on a dps because the constant debuff applying will briefly count as 4 debuff knocking something off
Hey guys, quick question for you. I'm a new 60, got some ok pre-raid gear but still filling in for sure. Currently been usin 2x Serathil in a Fury build, but last night I got the Obsidian Edged Blade. Should I be trying to make a 2H fury build work, or just go arms?
are you horde or ally
well OEB as a human isnt too special since the weapon skill is mostly wasted on you
but axes without edgemasters are even worse
2h without windfury is bad
sounds like a real pickle
I thought the weapon skill capped out at 313
well it has a hard cap, but the soft cap is at +5
oh gotcha
anything past 5 is very low value
Well that's a bummer
yeap
both sets arent anything too special
im no theory crafter especially for classic, so you could try asking fightclub since they'll have more specialized info
but your situation is pretty tough
@meager blaze we have three tf in our raid. Two on tanks and one on a dps. The dps has less issues with threat than I do but has great damage. I dont think the threat issues are that bad for the weapon itself. I used one in vanilla with r14 weapon but used the threat reduction badge. Still no real issues personally. Most will give it to a tank, but if you got one as a dps you’ll always use it, even if it ends up eventually in your oh.
@sharp ember anything 2h on alliance is terrible, aside from BRE in some specific situations, as a human you should be looking at av hammer and mirah's song over all raid 2handers. And don't go arms for pve.
@shadow wind Thank you my friend
@sharp ember You could use OEB for the time being while playing fury if your best options currently are 2x Serathil but QS/Mirah's as human would be strictly better for raid dps and in full pre-bis compared to Dal Rends its basically as good/few dps better. 2h as alliance is not good enough to even consider so OEB is nothing but a placeholder if the priority is to max your dps. If your in a super casual guild I'm sure it doesn't matter what you do.
Weapon skill actually soft caps at 308 in terms of reducing reducing glancing and removing additional dodge/parry vs lvl 63 targets. Going 305->308+ isn't pointless but generally more valuable as tank since they deal with both parry and dodge while dps only have to deal with dodge.
@steady palm I got a Sword of Zeal and Mirah's Song yesterday, so I have them now instead
Big
It seems to be much better. And the Fury sim helped too
Any good grinding spots in the burning stepes?
For exp?
Hello all, I just switched from Fury/Prot to full DW Fury DPS.. I have a few questions about weapons
First off, my notable weapons currently are Quel, Frostbite, and Lobotomizer. I also have Aged Core Leather Gloves for +5 daggers...
My question is, what is my best weapon setup until I get better, slower weapons?
RACE?
can anyone help me please? This is a picture from classic of a warrior. I am just curious what is the addon he is using to have his health bar displayed under the character and also the effect icon and timer above enemy health bar? thank you all
Looks like kui nameplates and maybe ElvUI
yeah that one looks like kui
@rigid lichen If you're human go Quel+Mirah's to begin with. Brut Blade would be your next upgrade for OH and Viskag/CTS for MH (they are very close so settle for the first one you get). If your shit out of luck with drops you could craft Ebon Hand and run QS/EH. Don't sleep on QS or Ebon Hand. They aren't sexy but they are very good for their availability. EH is like BB in terms of dmg and dps minus the stats. If you are orc use Frostbite+Bone Slicing Hatchet and look for DB/Crul for MH and DE for OH. If you're non-orc/human and don't have Edgemaster's go dagger with ACLG. Lobotomizer+decent blue as OH to begin with. Ideal upgrade for dagger's from raid would be Perditions/CHT or settle for DFB should it drop before.
Hello, which weapon do you think is the best between those two (warrior arms leveling lvl 46) :
https://fr.classic.wowhead.com/item=9475/pique-diabolique
https://fr.classic.wowhead.com/item=6975/hache-de-tourbillon
i would personnally go with the axe but i'm not sure
(sorry for the french links 😄 )
Ce/cette bleue armes d'hast a un niveau d'objet de 49. C'est dépouillé sur Shadowpriest Sezz'ziz. Ajouté dans World of Warcraft Classic. Toujours à jour.
yo, im new just starting wow classic. Is fury the way to go if you wanna use a 2H?
@slender scarab I think generally you want to go arms while leveling
alrighty thanks mate
@dreamy ice ok thanks !
:horde:
you're in the wrong channel, buddy.
this is classic
So I've been seeing a lot of recommendations that say that axes are better for leveling, but at max level I'm seeing more swords being recommended, even as Horde (and some especially as Horde in the case of OEB). Are there any endgame axes at all worth using as a 2h fury Orc warrior? What would you guys recommend in general (including swords)?
oeb has weapon skill and a ton of strength, your axe options are spinal reaper and drake talon cleaver
leveling the extra crit from axes is pretty decent, plus there are good axes available
this queue sucks loll
Ours was roughly six hours.
I’ve been in queue for three already. Says over two but it’s not been moving.
as it gets closer to peak time the queue slows down
watch what happens to it once the raids finish
Yeah my last hour went by much faster than an hour. But by then it was too late for me.
Is there a good resource for fury in classic?
The pinned discord
Yeah my last hour went by much faster than an hour. But by then it was too late for me.
Hey, I was wondering, I haven't had any luck with MC/BWL weapon drops, is Warblades of the Hakkari good for fury warriors without Edgemasters?
i'm no theorycrafter
but the only requirement to using a weapon type is having at least 5 weapon skill
and the set grants 6
Human Warrior, and I'm kinda the last one without any raid weapons yet, was thinking of trying my luck on them.
as a human, you have sword skill already
so as long as their base stats are better than what you have
It should, kinda desperate on weapons myself, but using Ancient Hakkari Manslayer MH and Mirah's Song (since I have no other weapons) And Nobody in guild wants it, so I am on top of the list if they drop
yeah there's nothing wrong with having extra weaponskill as long as you arent sacrificing other stats for it
it just has massive diminishing returns after 5
gotcha, thanks
and as a human, you only ever need edgemasters if you arent using swords or maces
since racial gives it to you
@sonic hinge Warblade set is a decent choice if your out of luck. If you are only able to get one or the other focus on OH first and after that consider getting MH as well. The issue, IMO, is it is not ideal to take them as warrior. Warblade MH is BIS for hunters and OH is actually BIS OH for sword rogues (even better than Brut Blade). If your picking Warblades up as a human fury your going to be looking to replace them anyways (Viskag or CTS+BB being the ideal). In my opinion I say you either settle for Stormstrike Hammer/Mirah's, QS/Mirah's, craft Ebonhand or pick up Spineshatter in the meanwhile and be patient.
Whats everyone's opinion on leveling spec? Is 2h fury pretty viable or is arms still king?
Hello guys, i've seen an another Discord/Spreadsheet that Drake Talon Cleaver is over BRE for orcs. Is that right ?
if possible i'd like to have some numbers to compare
what spec should i lvl as in classic for my warrior i am thinking fury but idk yet
I find Arms significantly better than Fury for leveling, Tactical Mastery, increased Parry chance, and Sweeping Strikes were far and away better than anything the Fury tree offered, both in the open world and for tanking dungeons.
2h fury is powerful in dungeons especially with a shaman. I picked up ss much later and did a hybrid. But you could easily go 30 fury then 21 arms. I played with plenty of warriors that I constantly dumpsters their dps while tanking too.
I swapped at those lvls and comparatively my overall dps was very similar ss just had larger burst. If you want to play fury 2h you can still pump.
You can reach lvl60 type dps with SS+WW along with retaliation popped
Makes farming dungeons exciting
Basically makes ww hit twice I think
SS+WW causes all four hits of Whirlwind to hit an additional target, so it basically makes Whirlwind deal 800% weapon damage plus any crits you get. Plus it gives you a whole lot of chances to proc Windfury.
You want to lvl as 2h arms if the goal is to be effective. You’ll hold threat by doing dmg using a 2h in dungeons as well.
With DW you have to deal with hit penalty and hit doesn’t exist on the early items. BT scales with AP which you don’t have because again gear is limit factor. WW scales with weapon dmg and 2h>1h in that department. Crit will also be way to low to have good Flurry uptime.
You can use cleave with both specs but since it queues on next MH swing you also won’t generate rage so in 2+ target situations your aoe will be weaker due to WW:ing with a 1h and and you’ll be more rage starved due to relying much more on cleave instead of SS+WW combo.
Blood craze and BT does not offer enough self healing to be useful sustain. BT r1 is 50hp total and Blood Craze 1/3 is 1% over 6s. You can’t abuse /sit it to trigger Enrage or Blood Craze as easy in Classic as you could on private servers.
All in all all the big fury talents are not used with great effect or borderline useless while leveling. Death Wish, the big CD, is also on a 3min CD that you unlock at 40 also results in you taking more damage on top of it not scaling well while leveling since its a % dmg modifier.
Arms offer early the quality of life of Tactical Mastery (stance dancing), Sweeping Strike offers on demand AOE on a 30s CD with synergy with both MS and WW for insane aoe. You also get crit from axe spec. In comparison Arms would have 5% more crit at lvl 45 than a fury would just from talents alone. MS and WW scale with weapn dmg as mentioned and are instant attacks while fury only has BT as an instant.
Practically weapon progression is also easier with WW axe being the big one.
that's not bad advice but you should try to break it up in paragraphs or separate messages
walls of text are difficult to read
and re: sweeping strikes, every hit of WW procs a SS hit, but SS only has 5 stacks anyway. So the WW hit will be big but it will use four of your charges
I wrote on phone. I'll format it!
👍
Think Nightblade is an upgrade over Whirlwind axe? Granted it is an attack speed decrease and a loss of some stats. But does the overall dps of the weapon make it worth it while leveling arms?
nightblade is definitely better than ww axe
on the other hand, every warrior gets ww axe
and nightblade is a rare boe
Just asking because i picked up Nightblade for 5g
Is it worth the 10g to respec from axe spec to sword spec?
i would, yes
you could probably resell it for many times more than what you bought for
so try that before you equip it
Will do
is there a comprehensive guide to fury/prot spec and gear path?
Does anyone have a spreadsheet for 2H weapons ? Idk how to sim BRE and Drake Talon Cleaver for Orc
hey, anyone had issues with world buffs in raid? i had like aout 30 buffs and my world buffs dropped at the first trash pull i can't seem to get any explanation for that....
Anyone know when + hit % is not longer viable? Im aready at 7% hit as a human warrior w/swords and im trying to decide between (1% hit and 1% crit) vs 47 ap
for 1h fury
it's seems not to be the buff cap, i lost onyxia's buff at 25 and then diremaul at around 30...
and as i know the buff cap is 32
you need like 16% hit to cap as dw fury
assume you mean 2h fury when you said 1h fury
9% for yellows
going beyond soft hitcap is generally not too great
when i lvl my warrior should i also collect main/shield as i lvl to just keep if i need to tank at some point or (i and lvling as arms)
and also do i need to spec into prot to tank dungeons while lvling i can also still tank with arms spec
You'll be more effective as 2h arms than prot up to BRD. You'll hold aggro by dealing damage. There is no reason to spec prot even at 60 for dungeons. Keep a shield but don't go out of your way to upgrade it. Anythign with higher armor value than what you currently have will do.
and also when i am lvling how much should i use sunder and hs strike?
cause sometimes i use it for 2stacks and some for 3stacks
I think theres a lvl bracket where its more efficient to use Sunder over HS think it was like 20-30 or something
If you have wf in dungeons plan to use sunder a lot.
hi what is the crit soft cap when its better to go fury prot ?
@dreamy ice since heroic strike bug exists, you only need 9% hit to reach dw cap
and with 5 weaponskill that cap is only 6%
Hey , Just joined 🙂 Im leveling a warrior atm , but I was wondering where I can find the correct rotation for Arms leveling classic 🙂
as dps
basically sunder until the mob is 50% hp, then save rage for the next mob or spend on heroic strike/exe if you wont pull before the rage decays
also using overpower whenever possible
you can use hamstring to fish for extra overpower procs
yeah the armor reduction is very good
and what about rend?
only if you are kiting
is fight club down right now?
hmm oke no rend then :p
is it ever a god idea to weave in overpower for a pve dps rotation?
Only if you're 2h, easier to make sure you aren't losing rage on swap
If you are not world buffed it can be helpful, but when you're fully worldbuffed its often a DPS loss.
I am new to warrior and tanking. Anyone mind giving a newbie a hand and explain Taunt? (classic)
So from what read. It says it generates threat to equal the top threat and forces aggro for 3 seconds.
That threat stays and basically after 3 second the mob goes back to whoever is top? Does it generate threat against immune targets still but no 3 sec forced aggro?
If they're immune to taunt it doesn't do anything.
It puts you on top of threat list and forces them to attack you for 3 seconds.
Example:
Once you taunt, you are given the same amount of threat as the person on top of threat list. Meaning if u taunt and do nothing and whoever you taunted from is still dpsing. They'll have threat when it's over.
You don't loose the threat when taunt is over
say Bill has 10k threat
and you have 0
you taunt and now have 10k threat too
when taunt runs out you both have 10k threat + whatever you did in the 3 second window
that's why u want to hit a big threat ability right after you taunt like shield slam
to ensure you keep it
He guys! A question for fury dps I got 25% crit unbuffed should I use gun with 30 ap or gun with 1% ? Aim for that soft cap?
1% crit that is
is there a list of weapons to buy lvling 1-60?
Hi, should I use Whirlwind or HS on single target? I've read different opinions and something about a bug... so I'm confused
dont buy any wep you can get the whirlwind axe quest at like 33 I think and with help from guild mates you can get the whirlwind axe and you will use that till like lvl 45+
heroic strike sucks its just a rage dump use the whirlwind attack as it will hit the target twice
You can get ww axe as early as 30 with help. And you can use it easily till 52 ish there’s greens that are better axe or sword with slow speed. There’s other options upper 40s that can be a little better but not worth the focus.
@unborn tendon I personally used WW axe from 30 until 51 and got Lord Alexander's axe and used it until 60 with Arms. Obviously when you hit 60 you'll decide if you want to tank or dps at that point.
I want to add that there are better axes in between 51 - 60 but the Lord Alex axe will suffice all the way through. And they are relatively cheap in the AH now that it's later in the economy.
heroic strike sucks its just a rage dump use the whirlwind attack as it will hit the target twice
@vestal viper Thank u 😉
Hi, can anyone advise on approaching 60 as a warrior? Context: I've been lucky enough to duo level to 50 with my IRL best friend playing a priest (thanks COVID), so we've been an ideal duo all along and we've been insta-group dungeons no problem (I arms tanking dungeons. But now I'm getting into this weird MS/OS phase where I
OOPS-sorry, sent too soon. Essentially I'll never be committed enough to tank any raids as I will never have enough gear to hold threat against most current active players. We want to experience raids which I guess means me having a fury set, but as far as gearing goes it seems better for me to keep tanking pre-raid BIS dungeons. Is there any good approach here other than just eating the 100 gold anytime we want to PUG raid and then switch back to dungeons?
you can tank dungeons as fury as well
its slightly worse than arms, but depends on your weapon
Could I reliably tank UBRS as fury? The priest is a good player and I've tanked for years in retail. Seems... dubious.
Yeah UBRS is easy
Ok cool. Would it be better to deep prot the 55-59 dungeon gearing process, or should I just stick with 2h arms until things get sticky?
Right on, thank you for the input
Never go deep prot, either fury dps, fury-prot tps or arms for pvp and dungeons
fury prot for dungeons yikes
just stick with either full fury or arms
i prefer arms but then again i have an insane 2Her
what would be the best spec to lvl up with if you have a pocket healer? me and my friends are going to do a mage, priest, warrior levelling group
Arms 2h
ok thank you
if you're horde pick a shaman
the single biggest buff to increase a warrior's dps is windfury totem
unfortunately noone went shaman
Does anyone have info on Annihilator? i.e. is it worth running? what's the proc rate? how many should a raid be using?
we have a few in the raid but dont really use them in MC / BWL because bosses die to fast
proc chance is pretty low
has around 3% procc
alright, ty. so would you say they'll be more important in AQ/Naxx? that's what it's sounding like
longer fights
you will probably have to build a few. one alone doesn't procc often enough to get stacks / keep it on the boss
but i am no theorycrafter, so i can't tell you when exactly it is worth, sry
alright, I appreciate the info
It has 1ppm. Generally you want every warrior to use it for their first AA + SA and after that you want 2 OTs to keep it up
Hi, I'm relatively new to classic warrior and was wondering if there was a pre-raid bis list of some sort
Do the orc axe skill racial works the same way in pvp than it does in pve? Is using an axe as an orc giving you 3% hit on other lvl 60 players?
No you only need 5% hit in pvp and wep skill does pretty much nothing
Trying to decide which one of these weapons to go with for the next couple levels as arms. I
I've always been told the slower the weapon speed the better, but i'm not sure how that stacks up against something that has higher overall weapon dps. Thoughts?
for MS, what matters most is the actual damage the weapon does. since normalization, weapon speed is only relevant insofar as it relates that damage to the weapon's dps
the blue is better
weapon dps is white hits and rage
it's a tough choice with the proc though
If youre looking to spend money get Executioner's cleaver. Crit from axe specialization is more useful while leveling and it also has 23 str + 1% hit.
Does anyone have any DPS sheets or opinions on Warblades of Hakkari for a NE without edgemasters, over...BWL weapons? specifically Claw, and Edge of Chaos.
https://guybrushgit.github.io/WarriorSim/ you'd probably wear the set over any combo with 300 skill
Can someone tell what is a better weapon combo
Brutality Blade MH, Mirah's Song OH / or Quel'Serrar MH, Brutality Blade OH.
Hello guys, trying to figure if Drake Talon Cleaver is better for Orc than BRE ? The FightClub spreadsheet seems to say so but i'd like some numbers if possible
tried to sim it but i'm not sure if the site counts the proc of BRE
BRE proc is (mostly) useless cause normally you have the bosses on 0 armor anyway, also BRE sucks
it's one of the best 2 handers in the game actually
BRE is great on aoe and beastly in pvp
But for 2h normal bosses its best to just dw or use a weapon you have skill for
BRE is great on trash cause trash is lower level so no glancing blows and less hit required. On bosses you need to invest an extra 3% hit on your gear and you get a shit load of low hitting glancing blows. Also on bosses DW is just better all around.
So no, it isn't one of the best 2 handers.
Both other 2 hand options from MC are better. OEB and spinal reaper. Unless you are a human (or alliance in general) but then you shouldn't use 2h weapons.
If you had to choose between BRE and Ashkandi wich would be better?
BRE
BRE proc is (mostly) useless cause normally you have the bosses on 0 armor anyway, also BRE sucks
@slender swift that isn’t actually true, given the state of things like annihilator not actually being any good in classic. So BRE is better still then DTC if you are going to use a 2 hander on bosses.
However, dual wield > 2hander for boss/single target.
Ashkandi or the Grand Marshalls wep's are the best at the moment The axe and sword from Ony would follow and then the bwl weps based off wep damage.
🤔
Did you just say Grand Marshal [2h] weps?
No, he said [Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker]
Ashkandi is a pvp weapon
2h weapons are PvP
GUys
i have a question
I have bloodrazor, and doomforged straightedge
yyesterday, i got the 1h axe from hakkar (ancient hakkari manslayer)
considering im a human, should i stick with the swords?
or swap out bloodrazer for the axe?
Do you have edgie's? If not, keep Bloodrazor. But I suggest going to Maradoun and replacing BR with Thrash Blade.
hey, can anyone explain me why the T2 8er Set from Priest and Renew are not allowed is for a Fury Prot?
Does any1 have a BIS List for Fury Prots in P5?
Did you just say Grand Marshal [2h] weps?
@cloud wadi Yeah besides Ashkandi the GM weps have the best damage
@Patt it's because fury/prot is not as tanky as deep prot, so they need to use more buff slots (it's capped at 32) for consumables.
With AQ40 coming closer, as a human war is Ancient Qiraj Ripper or Chromatic Tempered Sword the better choice? what im seeing is a difference in top end vs better raw stats in a raid environment
can anyone hit me up with a macro for shield bash? Hoping to have 2h, then swap to shield cast shield bash and if I click again will equip 2h
Man, why this new warrior generation are such pussies afraid to tank?? Im tired of getting responses "no, cant tank", "dont have a shield" and "can I dps instead" from them
Because muh leather gear dps
they are afraid to tank cause ppl that comment on every mistake
some ppl are complete dicks for no reason if the tank is new
in the end it always comes down to: "don't play with idiots/pugs"
when they don't realize that Arms is the best dungeon spec because you can tank and dps at the same time
I think thats bs
I levelled and tanked all the way 10-60 with dps gear, asking questions every dung and nobody said shit
Hi tell me where to buy gold
@slender scarab that's against the ToS, and soliciting here is not allowed
what are the good unit frames addons for classic?
i'm using SUF on retail, but dunno what is good here
@arctic plover Should be
@arctic plover /Cast Defensive Stance /Equip 1h /equip shield /cast shield bash /cast battle stance /equip 2h
shift click the name of the item in place of 1h and 2h and shield obv
also you need to space them so its one per line of script
Best way to go daggers fury warr?
@slender scarab As always 305 weapon skill is the first priority. You can use ACLG, Mugger's Belt or DD to achieve this for daggers. If you are just starting off I'd get Mugger's Belt from DM:N and buy exalted+revered AV daggers.
When choosing whirlwind weapon, do i take into consideration the human racial and go with mace/sword or do i take the whirlwind axe regardless?
Axe regardless, weapon skill isn't big while leveling since mobs will be the same or lower level than you mostly
@steady palm Is there any merit to getting more than +5 daggers weapon skill?
As dps there are two gains from increasing wepaon skill past 305.
- You can reduce the bosses dodge chance with 0,1% per additional +dagger skill after 300. The formula is Boss Dodge % = 5% + (TargetLevel*5 - AttackerSkill) * 0.1%.
- Glancing blow penalty can be reduced further. 15% at 305 and 5% at 308. At 308 it soft caps.
Regarding glancing specifically you have to keep in mind yellow attacks can't glance and depending on how many HS you can pump via your MH the gain is mainly for your OH which will constantly be only white hitting.
As dps it is generally not worth going over 305. The opportunity cost in terms of dps is greater when using items like Muggers or Distracting together with ACLG vs settling for 305 with just ACLG and using any other raid drop like OSG or CHT in the same slot. Emeriss world boss does have a +6 dagger helmet which could potentially give LH a run for its money but feelcraft would suggest no.
Okay, very cool
@steady palm If I already have brut blade, spineshatter, and fang of the faceless should I go for mugger's belt or distracting dagger?
Ravager vs whirlwind axe in single target?
WW axe
What race are you @slender scarab ? If hUman go Spineshatter/Brut
I'm a Dwarf
@steady palm I'm a dwarf
Play Fang of the faceless with Muggers and use another dagger for OH.
@steady palm Kay, thank you very much
Which would be better to use in the mainhand while leveling? Thrashblade or Bloodrazor, I have flurry axe with crusader in the OH with a WF in my pocket (GF is resto shaman) Race: Orc
Whatever has highest DPS
You have a pocket healer, so it doesnt really matter that much
when does edgemasters get out weighed by stats + hit rating on the gear?
end of AQ40 right? the bis gear then has around 12% hit on it, so keep edgemasters on rather than gauntlets of annihilation wouldnt be the best thing to do
the stats begin to outweigh the reduction in glancing blow damage from edgemasters im sure, someone correct me if im wrong please with evidence 🙂
yes weapon skill was just too powerful a stat, hence it was nerfed HEAVILY and snapped in TBC
not really completely useless. if you go in with no wbuffs you still get a little benefit for going over yellow cap, just don't use hit gear above cap if you got better non hit gear
With the HS feature it is never useful over any other stat like crit/ap
wf and flurry make it kinda hard to properly toggle all the time. i'd rather not worry about it and just hit bt and ww on cd
but yeh, even then it's prob worth less than 8ap or smth over cap
With buffs and proper gear you always have hs triggered
Anyone that can help me with a small brain gear choice in classic?
with full wbuffs and consumables i'm threat capped and not pressing hs a lot
Get a better tank
certain fights with threat kicks I still have to watch threat even with a strong tank with full buffs. Especially when you are rotating tanks on some fights. I typically still need to queue and dequeue hs with buffs as you can sometimes get some bad luck, even if you queue hs every time and hit every bt and ww there's times you will dip low where you may want to dequeue hs for the main hand hit to secure your next bt ww. without buffs I try to queue and dequeue as much as possible to keep my rage up, it's quite effective.
Try using cleave instead. HS generates a lot of extra threat. Your blows will do a bit less damage and cost more rage but they will also generate less threat per damage
edgematsers til KT swords? lol
you need to do your research abit more tbh, the "BIS" gear from aq40 will give you 12% hit regardless
so saying only have 6-9% else its useless, thats a wrong statement when you compare the best gear to get at the time
as for edgemasters, at the end of aq40 you can replace them if you have the gear, the rage you will be generating will mean you are using yellow attacks so much more which also reduces the amount of white swings youll be doing for glancing blows. There is actually proven research out there than edgemasters can in fact be replaced end of aq40 going into naxx 🙂
i mean its all down to min maxing too and dependant on the individual
the "BIS" gear from aq40 will give you 12% hit regardless
this is the biggest fucking lie ive ever seen lmao
also OH damage becomes MORE important as you use more Heroic strike, and hit becomes worth less
why do you say this random stuff and expect people to believe it
so you wont have 12% hit with the gear from aq40 no?
no, you wont
would you like to enlighten me on the gear list youre looking at that?
as im curious
GM swords
1 more week
does anyone know if zand charm works with diamond flask
it doesnt
Ahn Qiraji Ripper is pretty close to r14 weapons
Not sure about off hand
Shouldn't you be using acuria ring instead of applied force
More hit lmao
no thanks
I guess qiraji fury would be better than COAF depending on how much you value crit
hey is the difference between human and orc warrior that noticeable? I want to roll orc because I like the horde artstyle but I am perhaps too interested in min/maxing which makes me want to roll human
Human female = sexy, orc = not, reason enough :)
Orc is better in pvp
Orcs are sexy though
fem orc looks great. human female kind of derpy
windfury is the deciding factor though, forget alliance warriors
as a troll fury warrior should I use swords or axes
alrighty boys, as a human with swords, should i go for the stats on the 1st pic? Or do i go for the hit shoulders?. I have 6% with the blue one
@vale dust dont matta
Roughly the same
@vale dust Depends on what is avaialble to you. Weapon type doesn't matter if you have edgies, then sword or axe it depends on weapon damage, speed and stats. So the type really doesn't matter. But for instance Crul is an insanely good axe, higher ilvl cause it drops off nef, but it being unique can't use two of them. CTS being a sword with it makes a great main hand with crul off hand, or double axes you can do DB main hand crul oh. But like I first said depends on what you can get, as troll don't even pay attention to weapon type in these comparisons
Whatever it is you go for just try to look for more +wep skill of that type of wep
@summer stratus @spice fulcrum Alright thanks for the info ❤️
am i doing it right?

Yes
i have been doing nothing but punching things for almost an entire day and i've finally hit level 10 so i can use fist weapons
Remember gutrot? :))
Hey lionsheart helm or helm of wrath Fury DPS Warrior?
How much crit should I have? 35%? 50%?
So I'm struggling a little bit with tanking 4+ mobs currently, I've seen some things saying to spam battle shout and demo shout for better threat gen... and then other players are saying to tab sunder.
What should I be doing exactly? Getting really tired of running around trying to grab threat off of everyone after I charge in...
Two hander. Pop sweeping strikes then whirlwind.
@summer stratus At level 59?
Play arms and rock a 2h if you want to attempt to hold aggro in any meaningful way in dungeons. Could be done as fury if you got some decent gear and especially if you are relatively better geared than the other dps so you just outdps and thus out threat your party members. Frontlining as warrior means as long as your taking dmg you'll have rage to pump abilities.
Other than that you basically need to play whack-a-mole. If your deep prot it would be soemthing liek shield slam target 1, sunder target 2 once, if revenge proc use it on target 3 and try to spread out your abiltiy usage and cycle back and forth. If its a 4+ pull like in BRD weaving in demo shout early is also ok as well as batte shout but none are foolproof. Keep in mind battle shout is only relevant if you are actually buffing your team. If its just you up front if wont do much in terms of threat.
You need to be a bit tactical. For example if your marking a target with skull, and assuming everyone is actually attacking it first, start with your biggest threat ability on skull and then start cycling through the other targets. When you see Skull drpping aggro you go back to it and taunt. You need to identify what targets are more dangerous to ensure aggro on and also have your team kill it first ideally and what targets are less relevant. If there is a bunch of shitty non-elite adds and you have a mage then the mage should be able to control them and you don't need to worry about them and focus on the hard hitting elites. Make sure to pool rage between pulls so you can go hard at the start and dump. Don't waste rage on mobs that are about to die anyways and avoid execute.
Last but not least your playing a bit of a utility role. Using taunt and mocking blow to peel, using demo shout to reduce mobs melee dmg as well as use hamstring if rage permits helps a lot to control the pulls. Interrupt spells and be tactical with your intercept/conc blow (if deep prot).
^ this tbh.
most of the time in dungeons you don't have to tank each and every mob of a pack. helps if you know the dungeon trash. let DPS focus weak mobs (esp. caster/healer mobs - they can use interrupts/stuns). most dps can easily (ranged-)tank a standard trash mob. use Taunt on that first target if necessary. build threat on the secondary targets. utilize CC if necessary.
also: don't play with idiots.
bind Skull mark
SS>WW then spam cleave usually taunt mobs breaking aggro
I hit sunders with cleaves after ss ww . If you have wf can proc off sunder.
Sunder is really bad in aoe situation
never had a warrior beat me in dungeons or zg on trash. Force proc windfury cleaves off sunders, if you have the rage. Really isn't bad. been using sunder in aoe situations since the beginning.
hello i decided to leave and start a new character but on classic wow what i was wondering was can u sim your character or is that only retail stuff like how do u know witch item is better in classic
is there a website that says the best items for warrior
Check classic warrior discord for resources. Link to the discord in the pins in this channel
thank u cruisectrville
Bis lists generally
What do you reckon is better for Arms PvP? Zin'rokh or Herald of Woe
Prolly herald tbh
Zinrokh
Got more top end and stats
Yeah I reckoned herald too, but zinrokh is so damn cool
@half sonnet You can search guybrush sims. There's also spreadsheets and other sim utilities out there. Certainly not as nice as simc and raidbots. But you have quite a bit of options with it. Just remember if you change fight lengths and buffs and everything that you adjust when deathwish is used or recklessness or other abilities. It's kind of one of those things you'll get a bit different result based on all those factors. so set it up for what you need.
ok thank you seoinage
any validity to CTS being a better off hand than Maladath for humans with TF?
for fury / prot tanking of course
Hey guys, my guild has decided to make me use a nightfall for raids, I have downloaded several night fall weak auras but none work. Does anyone have a working nightfall weak aura they can share?
Cts is a mh weapon and especially as furyprot human with tf the additional +4 ws is huge
You’re cucking yourself and your guild taking cts
what should i enchant my whirlwind axe for leveling with?
guys is there a BIS list for p5 fury?
Jimmy,
@iron dagger id do weapon chain. Enough mobs while questing/dungeons disarm
thanks
Is it better as fury to do rampage then recklessness, or recklessness then rampage?
And related, how do you prevent overcapping rage when cleaving during recklessness? During recklessness when I go rampage -> whirlwind -> bloodthirst a lot of times that brings me over 100 rage
Where did you learn rampage as a level 60 warrior in classic? 🤔
LF Orc non-Axe guidance. Recent 60 Currently dw fury: MH Frostbite with OH Brutality Blade. plenty of hit gear
I have OEB and Zin'Rohk in bags now and im trying to see which is worth enchanting since gold is low. Do I 2h fury with these over my dw setup? Do i just use Zin for sword spec pvp? Most spreadsheets just list for 2hs axes bwl swords and bre which aint helpful at my gear level
OEB is going to vastly out perform Zin'rokh
@bold elbow
Weaponskill is so important
But your DW setup is probably going to do quite well aswell
OEB for pve, zinrokh for pvp. or just get fucking axes. even pre-bis 1h axes will compete with 2h fury as orc
how did you end up with BB anyway?
Hello, ive read that the newest datasheet removes Juju flurry because: its a dps loss.
Could anyone explain it to me? Does it share CD with another Mighty rage potion or something?
OH well.. i found: We would like to mention that the Juju Flurry buff is currently matching the behavior exhibited in the 1.12 reference client. Juju Flurry behaves similarly to Seal of the Crusader in that it increases your attack speed but also lowers your DPS by the same amount.
Is that the reason?
Yo, are edgies bugged?
no, why?
getting a 40% glance on almost every fight wearing them
in bwl
10-20% more than orcs
logs?
sup fellas
Theres so much conflicting information on the internet. when should i switch to dw fury ?
2h fury no bueno? thought it was 2h fury until certain stats then switch
its not bad for horde, but in general dw fury beats it
and you can reach those certain stats with preraid bis
so yeah its not really a consideration
basically once you have 2 decent weapons its worth doing
classic owns
Anyone please help I need to know is mala MH with brut off hand better or shouldn’t it be the other way around
Any wars please help
@austere briar you still 40% glance chance with edgemasters, there's just less of a damage penalty
any warrior fighting a lvl 63 mob is going to ahve tha glancing chance penalty
Would have to sheet or sim it @cyan atlas but probably BB mh/Mala oh
Well that’s what my wars did and they are saying mala is better MH by like .5
0.5 what?
what do u guys think is better for PVP https://classic.wowhead.com/item=12583/blackhand-doomsaw or https://classic.wowhead.com/item=18725/peacemaker
This blue polearm has an item level of 63. It is looted from Warchief Rend Blackhand. In the Polearms category. Added in Classic World of Warcraft.
Top end wins out so Doomsaw. That being said both are poopy. Best blue choices would be Demonshear or Blackrock Slicer. But honestly anything will do while grinding exalted AV and buy TUF.
any suggestions for where to farm gold easily as a warrior? i just returned to classic after a 4 month break and im poor
solo? farm elemental earth + stones in badlands. if your herb there are multiple herbs that sell well so no need to tunnelvision lotus. for herbing you can do grave moss in rfd together with disenchanting and kill some bosses or maraudon you can run around and pick ghost mushroom/blindweed without killing anything really. fishing is also an option (oily, stonscale). mining and going for mithril/iron if rtvs are too contested could also be a thing since heavy/solid stones sell well. depending on capital you can look to invest in things that are cheap now and flip later when aq war effort begins. turning gromsblood (generally cheap due to dm:e farmers) into mrp could also be a good profit margin right away.
Thanks
How should I go about tanking dungeons as fury lvl60?
Standard 18/33, decent healer and mark targets
threat is an issue compared to prot builds and to a lesser extent healing
proper targeting from your group is more important than it would be for a prot build
so group with people who hit the skull basically
2 Questions:
-
I see back and forth for stat priority Str over crit or Crit over Str. Clearly 1%crit is better than 1 str. But I would assume 20Str is better than 1% crit? At what point I make the assumption xStr = 1% crit
-
What kind of fall off is hit after yellow hit cap? Clearly 7% hit for a human w/ maces isn't USELESS, but is it truly bad? I would once again assume and extra hit % for OH is better than 1str, etc. Where do you guys put extra hit in the scheme of things?
i'm not too sure the cut off of crit vs str, usually you go for the crit cap and be done with it
hit passsed 6% is pretty bad if you're giving up other stats for it, if you get it without opportunity cost then its fine
but with the heroic strike bug, you really dont have much benefit from hit passed the cap
With my current gear i sit at 6% hit, it still sims highest over 7% etc. Some bosses I swap to 7% or even some i'm below cap.
Should I go dw or 2h for more threat then?
i think that depends on your weapons and specific build, like if you have points in DW spec then you are better off going DW
but if you have the 2h build and/or sweeping strikes then 2h would probably be better
iirc a min maxed dungeon spec is like 21/30/0 but then you're totally gimped for raiding and pvp
I have to go standard fury dw for raids and can't afford respecing. Arms it was simple enough with sweeping strikes whirlwind cleave to build some initial threat on packs. I'm not sure how I should approach pulling packs as fury
hope your group hits the target you are hitting
I'm wanting to twink a 39 human warrior. Better to have WW axe or a 2H Sword?
@unkempt delta better to have Pendulum of Doom
would go for WWA when you dont drop or have the money for Pendulum of Doom
You could get the whirldwind sword the axe is just the prefred choice
POD is the best wep you could get for a twink war
its 4.0 speed
For fury/prot is Unbridled Wrath worth over booming voice? ive heard unbridled wrath isnt very good and you save more rage from booming voice than youd earn with unbridled wrath
guys i need help to find a talent guide for classic

check the pin and go to fight club. and then check the pins there. the channels are cesspools but the pins and resource channels have everything you will need.
@silent tartan Unbridled Wrath is 40% chance to get 1 point of rage per melee hit. It's terrible.
for fury/prot the range and duration of BV is worth far more, if you're going fury dps though UW may be worth it if you have very fast weapons, but it's generally just a bad talent
That’s what I thought. Thank you @hollow belfry
Yo guys, i just hit max lv and did my first mc. Now i got Eskhandar's Right Claw as MH and Gutgore Ripper as OH. Is that good? Is that mh viable?
Do you guys think Sulfuras is the best weapon for warriors in pvp
not worth the money
@weary lance It is terrible
anyone willing to play with a noob haha i just started few days ago
@weary lance u want swords
So im curious for opinions about blacksmithing on a warrior, what does everyone think? Which is more beneficial? Armor or weapon smithing?
TBC...... barf
no, dont do blacksmithing
it is only useful in a guild setting if they need a blacksmith to make some certain things. You basically need a guild to funnel you mats for the rep grind to get proper recipes.
@nocturne torrent from a min/max perspective engineering is the bis profession. you can pair that with what ever you want. honestly i'd recommend herbalism. jump runs are kind over and otherwise mining is lackluster. herbalism is good incidental $$. you can just buy all the mats you need for engineering
Why are people saying stuff like
"Classic is not a a good vanilla experience"
What is a good vanilla experience tot hose people?
The game is the same
Different players
Different time
actual 2005 vanilla
time is what changed vanilla
You're not gonna experience the same thing you experienced back in 2005
Exactly
Players and time changed
yes that's why they say its not a good experience
that doesnt make their statement wrong
Well, it doesn't but I've seen some people on wowprivate servers sub looking to play on a vanilla server because classic wasn't the same experience
News flash
It will never be the same
Those are the people I'm talking about
¯_(ツ)_/¯
MMOs was a new genre
People started using PCs recently, everyone was clueless
That's what these people want bakc
but it's just never going to be back
I've actually seen some people get mad at people who min max saying "it's not fun"
Who is to say it isn't fun for them
You?
Just because you don't want to min max, doesn't mean others don't enjoy it
goes both ways
Yeah
One of the main arguments is that it would be like playing retail after all the nerfs get put in. Bwl and mc so far have been extremely easy. So have dungeons. People who get world first in retail would get them the day they came out after the nerds blizzard does. I remember in vanilla as things were significantly changed.
well tbf if we had 1.0 talents, MC would've still been cleared week 1
it would've been harder, but vanilla is still piss easy
everyone who tries hard enough knows how to beat the content before it even drops
you cant unknow that information
People just used to be SO bad back in vanilla. Content was easy and brain dead but people don't realise it.
most were bad yeah, but there were still players who were good at the game
but it also doesnt really matter how good you were, being able to see into the future allows every player go into content more than ready for it
I mean world buffs can completely trivialize encounters. So yes that is the case, but things still would have been much more difficult, and people would have lost buffs etc. Dungeons still were changed, raid encounters were also changed, regardless of talents.
It was hard to field a full 40 for many guilds of competent players
There's still plenty of bad people now
There are also some genuine non-vanilla things. For example the game started with the talents and item stats as they were in the TBC prepatch. That's significant.
There are also some weird side effects from it being the legion client and from decisions blizzard made. The biggset two are how overcrowded server are and spellbatching.
not really big deals but the the latter two can be pretty annoying
there are plenty of weird bugs that crop up that never did in vanilla. i think it's kind of interesting, but i think it's pretty understandable that people complain. it's pretty sloppy on blizzard's part
i dont think it is quite tbc prepatch, pretty sure that patch is the one they overhauled hybrids to make them actually good
population is definitley way higher than it was, but spellbatching is vanilla like even tho its cancer
there are some things like non progressive itemization
and non progressive balance
the spell batching in classic isn't the same as vanilla. the way batching is implemented in classic has some pretty well documented bugs associated with it that never were in vanilla. former developer's recollection of vanilla's batching https://old.reddit.com/r/classicwow/comments/cb9vv2/kevin_jordan_on_spellbatching_and_the/ete2fyb/
not the biggest deal in the world. just kind of interesting
Tbh I think batching not being "like it was in vanilla" has less to do with how its batched server side and more to do with the fact that you can get far more into that window with modern connections
Granted at this point wide batching windows are bad
Should have just went with a more like live approach
Also what I find interesting in that thread you linked is how people still dont think paladins can tank because they dont have a taunt when you can just spam greater blessing and insta win threat
How much hit% do you need for pvp
also is Runeblade any good for pvp arms war?
@dusty gorge might wanna check fight club discord. it's pinned in this channel i think. it's 5% (defense will change this) for a 2h weapon in pvp. runeblade is decent until you can get the unstoppable force from AV or a raid 2h.
Hey guys, question, anyone know if HoJ is still angerforge or emp?
Still anger
Some people actually think removing world buffs is gonna change anything
Sure, the raids are gonna be slower
But it's still going to be extremely easy
What's the point?
@frosty haven What do you think?
removing worldbuffs is not vanilla like
sure its a cancerous system but it is still part of the game
I'd be up with boosting classes damage and removing some of the significant world buffs
But I'm not sure how this would go
nah they shouldnt change the gameplay, i'm okay with fixing broken interactions and exploits, or creating solutions to problems that arose from classic itself
but vanilla's gameplay should be preserved
If you want the balance changed
just wait for TBC
A lot of stuff in vanilla is balanced extremely finely because people focus too much on raiding and don't pay attention to how it affects pvp
eh depends on what you're looking at
every class has at least one strong build, and each class has some unique value to bring to raid
but not every spec is treated equally
if your goal to achieve good balance is to have every spec be roughly equally playable in all types of content, then yeah classic falls short
but classic wasnt designed around strong spec identity, it was more around strong class identity
Druid is pretty much useless. Very weak healers, very weak DPS and meh tanks. And if you call fearie fire a unique value well... no.
most raids will have room for druids
at least 1 is good for motw and FF
they are good healers if your heals arent sniped
they're weak dps compared to the good specs, but feral dps is the strongest hybrid dps
You need a druid, true, but having a class there with you cause of a buff and 1 debuff I wouldn't call it strong class identity. I just call it terrible balancing
blame buff cap
druid's class identity is being a versatile hybrid
which it does so very well
just because the meta doesnt lend well to hybrids doesnt mean they dont have strong identity
Seeing as paladin and shamans bring a lot more utility wise and are strong healers
shaman and paladin cant tank/dps as well as a druid
True I suppose but then what is the reason about warrior being both top DPS and best tanks?
warriors are OP, blizz isnt consistent with the hybrid tax
just like paladins and shamans cant dps or tank for shit
but druids do seem to hit that spot for jack of many trades master of none fairly well
Yeah.... the word you are looking for is terrible balancing
if every spec were meant to be equally balanced, then you wouldnt give druids any versatility
versatility cant exist without an opportunity cost
if it does then the class is OP
like warrior
But their versatility is eh. The only reason to pick a feral OT over a warrior OT is because they bring buffs and debuffs
Cause their DPS in cat form with tank gear is still trash
well a warrior in tank gear will have similarly trash dps
It is even worse with them getting gear in only half the raid raids cause feral tank gear barely exists and the tier sets are designed for druids to be healers
sure, but its very easy to get gear as a healing druid
since there's no real competition
Only the tier set. Any decent guild wont give any shared healing loot to a druid
And I know for a fact that T1 for druids is complete trash
Not sure how the other tiers are
yeah but this is getting away from the point
druids being weaker than other classes is by design, not some balancing oversight
and the fact that they're only brought to raid for buffs is a side affect of min max culture
and once you get into that realm, balance takes a back seat regardless since you only care about the very best whether that variance is 10% or 3%
Okay, rogue in raiding environment plays like a discount fury warrior. Their entire idea of bleeds / poisons / combo point bursting is removed cause all they do is spam sinister strike and use SnD
yeah debuff cap ruins many classes
It isn't just debuff cap. Eviscerate does better that garrotte. And well, debuff cap is kind of included in balancing issues
And you wont even use eviscerate unless you have 5 combo points and your SnD isn't running out soon
well that sounds like a normal rotation priority to me
SND is a maintenance buff, it would make sense to keep it up 100% of the time, and to spend CBs on evisc in the mean time
garrote/rupture not being used is a problem with the debuff cap
poisons as well
Yeah, I would call that a balancing oversight
its more of a limitation of the game, i'm sure they didnt intend for the debuff cap to hamstring classes that depend on debuffs
like look at warlock for instance
Of course they didn't do it to nerf classes. But they should change or buff classes based on this
Mdps do more DPS than Rdps cause Rdps have a much easier time being able to out range mechanics and such
eh that is already solved by RDPS having to worry about cast times and melee dont
Don't agree on that
Mdps have a much large down time on a lot of bosses compared to Rdps
sure some bosses favor ranged over melee based on mechanics of the fight
but in general, the advantage range have of being ranged is off set by the cost of having to cast their spells
In most expansions yes, but in classic this is a lot less seeing as how Melee unfriendly most fights are
and yet people still want to stack warriors
sure, but ultimately classic is solved
there's nothing about the balance that will change
That is mostly cause of min maxing
exponentially scaling class in an expac where all the other classes scale linearly
wtf why stack warrior
god i love classic
iirc fury warrior wasn't as meta in vanilla as it is in classic
Because most people weren't as knowledgeable as they are now
well fury warrior was buffed in 1.12
classic exists in 1.12
How were they buffed?
and yeah, vanilla's meta wasnt refined
i forget @twin oar
i wanna say flurry or BT was buffed
Idk, still saying how it is a balancing thing that every class could only play 1 spec sounds kind of balancing issues to me. For hybrid specs sure and with druid I kind of agree. But mage where arcane spec is never touched in neither leveling or raids or PvP or even dungeons should be worrying. Same with rogues for assassination. But then warrior having 3 good playable specs?
spec balance was awful, but class balance was pretty good
I mean yes but no. It was just so limited
classic did a great job of making every class excel in its own way, some have more options than others, and some excel in more important ways than others
but you can go pick any class, learn how to play it to its full strengths and feel fulfilled in doing so
that is why i think the balance of classes was fine
I get that feeling in TBC but not in classic. With a lot of classes being stuck with a 1 button rotation
That's in classic too
design and balance are different things ¯_(ツ)_/¯
I meant that as in classic
many classes are still stuck with 1 button rotations in TBC
A lot of classes don't even bring much to the raid they just press that one button once and that is it
They are but some are fixed and offer more variety in the class itself
well sure, TBC was a positive iteration on class design from classic
they improved balance and made more specs viable
i do think TBC was much better than vanilla in that regard
I create a new character and decide to be an orc shaman and it states that I can be a damage dealer. I level up only to find out the only thing I will be doing for every raiding evening is placing WF totem down and cry myself to sleep.
lol
Or deciding to be a paladin tank and after gearing up even cause they make decent dungeon tanks iirc to be FORCED into holy cause that is all paladins can do
XD
