Guys, I'm new to protection warrior tanking. Level 23. It's all great and fun, the feeling or raw warrior power is amazing, active mitigation is amazing, and charges are fantastic. Love it. Sadly, I'm having problems with holding aggro on AOE groups. I played a bit of Blood DK, Guardian Druid and a lot of Protection Paladin before and I never had this problem. Does it get better at maximum level? Or holding aggro is a bit trickier on warrior? On my Pally I just had to throw a shield and then cast consecration ground. It all sticked to me. But here I cast thunder claps, revenges (losing active mitigation due to that) and I still lose aggro to teammates. Any protips? Or should I just level and deal with it?

right now warrior feels giga tanky with good burst, sustained dps is a bit pants and rage gen vs single target is still bad
tclap and revenge need a damage buff, also the change to not getting free revenge on every parry is bad
BSC was already looking shite, now its done
I like the breakdown of prot better, but aoe damage from core abilities feels too low
That HR nerf a long time ago, from 1.5s to 1s extension, really hurts that talent too

currently azerite is helping us a ton compared to the other tanks to keep up/be ahead in dmg

have to be very careful you dont burn all your rage though, the temptation can be quite strong

Ive been running DR+Ravager+Bolster in my keys, even 3x Gathering Storm (with 2x BoM and 1x DC). Seems to work well. As far as "we take so much more damage" im not sure what you mean. Yes if you compare prepatch to vers stacking 8.3 we do, but by playing well and keeping SB up while juggling IP and revenge you should still be fine.
While we do struggle on some encounters like we always have (zul, rixxa etc) i havent had a lot of issues outside of snakeroom in temple where i forgot we didnt have a poison dispell in our comp
As to handeling downtime, just kite. No reason to facetank without anything, youll die. If you have an external available, ask for it and you could maybe stay in for longer
