You used them to skip bad trash packs and go straight to another boss after killing easier trash. Its trial and error you can also just ask group if they have idea on where to drop. Better than just faking it and losing more time
Motherlode for example I tend to aim for 57% before going past 1st boss. Then kill trash leading to 2nd ob and take that one to next boss. Then go to 3rd ob killing 1 pack and take direct to 3rd boss. And same thing for 4th. If you leave first area around 57 you'll have 100% by time you make to 4th ob (or 98%~) and the ob will give you the final 2%
