As long as it's been soothed you can stay in because your healer can dispel the DoT if it got reapplied

i'm just starting out as a prot tank and im ilvl 461. I want to try to buy up the essences i need in prep for when i get better gear. I thought i shoudl stack TD but a friend told me to stack Vers. What's the right thing to do? My plans are to move from doing 7's to 15's sooner than alter and then hopefully to keep going to see how high i can get my rio. I won't be raiding.
