Lucid provides you with
1)Leech
2)100% increased rage from abilities
This means that during the 15 second Lucid window every 2 minutes you will be pretty much unkillable on most key levels due to the absurd amount of rage you gain which in turn leads to Ignore Pain spamming.
Furthermore this also reduces the CD's of everything tied to AM - hence the "40s of straight Avatar".
In general you SHOULD try to optimize your pulls around this cooldown as it frees up your healer to do other things like CC/DPS etc and it also lines up with DPS classes CD's like Combust.
You do not want to hold onto it for too long tho since then you risk the possibility of losing a cast over the course of the dungeon - it's a pretty case by case situation.

I would gear based on the level of keys you plan to be doing. Vers isnāt needed until youāre well into the 20s. If youāre never going to get there, then just go for TD.

Frankly fire mage just isn't that good in 15s, especially since most of them are running the lucid build. Mobs die too fast (especially on tyr weeks) to take advantage of combust, tanks don't pull around it in PUGs, and you do jack shit between combusts

Well, it depends on whether your tank is going to pull around it and what spec you're running
Minute mage can have more success on lower keys because you have combust more often

i pull around fire mage in keys higher than +18
and prefer to kick fire out of the group in keys lower before the key starts
better off without inting DPS that won't be able to build up combust on trash that dies really fast
