Question: on reddit there's a thread about high performing tanks (MDI), and this answer is in there, I've never actually noticed this really happening and even though it seems to make sense, I would call bs on the statement but thought I'd ask here as well.
Watch their micro movements, taking a few steps back makes the mobs stop swinging. They take a few steps to get in range of you again. They keep resetting the swing timer, on a pull with a lot of mobs this reduces damage intake significantly. Nobody stays planted taking all the damage, you'll see them slowly moving, it almost looks like twitching backwards. Once you have tons of threat you can full kite if you need to.
Obviously tanks will move back, sometimes stuttering backwards but that's mainly with conflict major (for warriors) I've noticed.
But really doing this for swing timer resets, is that something I need to learn, or is that just this guy talking out of his a$$?
