You can get a weakaura that'll mark higher hp targets, just get everyone to focus them and you'll be ok most of the time though

Depends what kind of content you're running. Mythic raid? Idk. Heroic? Nah, you can do just fine without. Mythic plus? Depends on key level and dungeon. On lower keys (15+-) you're going to get more out of some other essences.

I main the easiest class for visions #DH but the key to Alleria is that you can kick away the bombs so you can stay on her position, and darkened sky you can just stand on a spot that doesnt get the purple swirl! You still need to move on a lot of abilities and always interrupt polymorph! Also, if you los for the explosion: wait for the eye to move to your position and then turn back to dps her

@exotic rapids I did a few 5 masks this week as prot, the only thing I can say is bring Cyclotronic Blast. I got 2 uses out of it, and it was off cooldown when I killed Alleria. The amount of time you can't be in melee is insane so try to keep charges of Crucible of Flame/Cyclo for those periods and just focus on getting as many shield slams into that bitch when you are in melee. If you have a second azerite set with Brace for Impact/Reckless Flurry I'd go for ghose as well. At the end of the day there's not much you can do other than doing the mechanics properly.

I’m a pretty new prot warr and I just was wondering if I could get a brief overview of how defensives should be prioritized. I find myself rage staved all the time and just taking way too much damage. I also would like to know:

• Should Last Stand and Demo shout be cast off cooldown?
• How should Rallying Cry be used?
• Is the ability Spell Reflect any good? Should I just cast on cooldown? Is it only good for one spell?
• From what I’ve read M+ stat priority is Haste=Crit. Should I just stack those or should I aim for other stats like a min of 10% verse, 10% mastery ect.

spell reflect is the most broken ability in the game (there is a spreadsheet in #268491842637660160 of what can be reflected/deflected), one spell, also gives you 20% dr to magic damage for the entire duration if you dont reflect anything
ilvl>>>haste>crit for m+

also, since you are new. check out the Icy Veins guide

you said you were rage starved. stop pressing revenge when its not free

if you feel like youre taking too much damage it can be low ilvl shield or bad play. you can post a log here and people will help out

After that you use Last stand to fill the CD downtime of Shield Block which should allow you to get 2 charges of SB again.
So it's "SB->SB->SB->LS->SB->SB"
(For general defensive rotation assuming pure blockable dmg)

You use Avatar and Demo shout on CD.

priority is SS>TC>Revenge>devastate for dmg.

Never cap rage, pump excess rage into IP, not into revenge.(unless you know better)
Don't empty your Rage Bar before needing to use SB.
If you know you will take heavy dmg use SW beforehand.

If you can't keep up SB or LS, fill the gap with shockwave / kiting ( if needed) / shieldwall
Or ask for an external.
%uptime on Shield block is relatively useless to look at, what matters is effective uptime.

How do you guys know if you're actually being targeted by something and can spell reflect it? Do you just look at target's target frame or something like that? I feel like a lot of spells from dungeon mobs aren't actually cast at the target and when there's like 5 mobs I can't really see who all of them are targeting anyways

@steel stirrup a mix between weak auras telling you if an ability is targetting you, using target of target unit frames and nameplates like plater will tell you what target a mob is casting on

you can also find a list of abilities you can SR in the pins

If it helps, my group doesn't move the bosses out of the haste rune, only the damage reduction one. Doesn't seem to affect anything from a survival standpoint, BUT the tank does have to be pretty aware because the tornadoes move faster if they're in the rune.
