If I'm using Bolster to cover Block uptime with Shield Block - is it wiser to use it first so LS -> SB -> SB - last so SB -> SB -> LS when using it for normal rotation and not because I know the pack might kill me/set my healer dancing to the tune of not healing me etc.

easy suggestions is make sure you're running null
but for instance, 'smoothing' wrathion is just spell reflecting the 2nd breath so you can survive it easily, where something like vexiona is a bit more complex cause of the consistency of the magic damage

So..even if you don't stand in fire yourself look at your DPS positioning and move the boss as needed so they are forced to move also - hopefully out of the fire.

if you absolutely need the absorb to survive some burst mechanics its ok
but if you don't know when you'll use it (or find yourself holding it as an "oh shit" button) then other trinkets will serve you better overall
