CnS/Null r3 minors are good in pretty much all the fights regardless if you want DPS or not.
Major you can play around with if you need a extra CD for example use Undying Gift etc.

What they mean by that is that if you mess up your mitigations (Shield Block, Demo Shout, Shield Wall etc) then you do not have the tools to recover from it.
