Just started gearing my prot warr, in general what are best essences? Visions major, lucid minor and what for 3rd?
For m+
Not raid
for minors its some combo of Conflict and Strife, Sphere of Suppression, and Lucid
CnS can be subbed out for Aegis if you don't have ityet
I have rank 2 aegis. So in general if I run visions , lucid and aegis i should be fine? Started grinding mech rep for the essence for dungeons with more magic damage like shrine or kr
Null is highly situational, and aegis is... ok but not optimal
you need to constantly be in combat with... 6 targets i think for it to be comparable to CnS
Blah I honestly hate grinding out strife, already did it on my sham, I just hate pvp lol. I don’t really plan on pushing too high of keys on prot though maybe like 18/19 max. Mainly just gearing it for my key sale group bc we lack tanks
yah i don't blame you, the pvp grind is rough
Sphere is a easier grind, especially with the anniversary BG
and i think that thats better than Aegis
mostly because it still has value against bosses
and you only need rank 2, rank 3 just gives speed
Hmm good idea. I can probably grind out rank 2 at least this week
Does the anniversary event end on reset?
ends in january
Oh shit that’s easy then lol thanks for the help
no problem
Okay so I played with conflict major
And I really liked it
There was one major problem
I couldn't chainpull
Or like, I could but it sucked
I've always liked cns major when I've run it
Anyone getting sockets on their corrupted gear in PTR?
@sick sentinel it really does feel awful when you try to combine 2 pulls thats why i pop avatar late while making big pulls with conflict
it feels bad to use clap and feels not to aswell xd
in UR it helps alot with swarmer actualy
I used it in UR as well
and I LOVED it in TD
but for the love of god do not use it in ml
Do you guys use Potion of Superior Strength or Potion of Unbrideld Fury for ST?
Unbridled fury
Hi all, I am about to tank 3/8M on my alt war. What I dont remember is how to rotate Shivara after her volley
Could someone help me out
Hey, I need help with an item-decision: Protecting Bit Band 425 (402 haste, 100 mastery) or Murky Cerulean Signet 440 (378 crit, 151 mastery). Rule of thumb seem to be to go for ilevel, but is the gained stamina really worth dropping 400 haste?
if you drop below 1500 haste, i would say no
is that 1500 haste with or without Into the fray buff?
ah, its only +%, i see, dumb question XD
@candid ledge i never rotated her at all
Just stand where she spawns, depending on what you get frost/venom just stand slightly to that side
And thats about it
Tank swap on every barrage, drop you shit then proceed as usual
Ah alright, my guild did it that way when we were clearing it
Sup guys

👋 @exotic spoke

If I have 25% parry and 75% crit block chance, does it mean I will always critically block with shield block up or is it 56.25% of the time?
Those rolls are done separately. I think parry/dodge rolls are done first, then if you don't parry/dodge, you will 100% block (since Shield Block is up), and then that block has a 75% chance to be a crit block.
Crit block is technically a chance on top of a chance. Shield Block just makes one of those chances 100% (the normal block)
Thanks. So end results would be 25% parry, 56.25% crit block and then 18.75% just normal block.
Well, dodge would be in there as well, but yeah if you were looking at general avoidance as a whole 100% pie, that's how it would work out
a 415 during timewalking gets a vdh up to 50% dodge
they become literally invincible
because they get like 40% party AND 50% dodge and they just refuse to take any damage
lol
I want that red card
You're a red card
I want your v card
which defensive stats is better? haste or versa?
Haste
thanks
also, urchin's kinda useless this week isn't it?
i'm trying to venture into tanking
It's less useful, for sure.
Btw defensively, more stats are better than certain stats; the "better" stats only come into play at equal ilevels
so a 430 ring that gives haste and versa is worse than a 455 ring that gives mastery and crit with a socket?
defensively
Yes
awesome thank you
but really low haste value kinda feels like shit, i would try to maintain min 1400 haste
i'm at 1700 haste 900 versa 700 mastery 500 crit
Sockets are insane
On rings
Get more crit if you can @serene gorge
You have great stats for raiding, but for m+ you want tons of crit and haste
how much is good enough?
30% parry is a nice point to be
30% isn't like 2k crit
i'm at 1.07k and have 13% parry
Your parry is at 28.5%
i would imagine that vial's good also because of the armor right?
You're thinking way too defensively for a warrior tbh
The only defensive choices we really make are trinkets. The rest is mostly offensive or offensive choices that just happen to be strong defensively as well.
i'm about to jump on a +18 tanking for the first time
i'm afraid
that's why i'm thinking defensively
Why in the world would you do an 18 your first time tanking
for fun
cause he's a man
this week isn't push week anyway
Having Shield Block up and using CDs like you're supposed to is way more important than any gear choice you can make
oh i've tanked a couplke keys before but never a high key
i tank for carries and stuff
Well technically every week is push week
oh okay
I thought you meant like welp, been DPSing since vanilla, let's tank this 18
big stoneform week
Dwarf master race
i know i'm asking a lot but which of this trinks combinations are better for defense?
Fireblood
vial's 450
:angery:
ew
On horde I have to settle for the inferior Mag'har Orc 😦
Vial is good, take block + rezan or block + vial
Butcher block and Rezan probably
Defo take block
Parry for necrotic week is even better
Vial is good for pumping
k
Also how do I only have barely more parry than you Nome
Idk cuz I don't keep up with my stats
1.8k haste 1.X crit
That's about all I know
I have 1531 crit and am at 31% parry
My haste is lower than I'd like
Only 1406
But idgaf really
I'm big boy woyer, stats are for losers
I have crit on every piece except weapon and trinkets
That's a lot of mastery
I'm at 1531 1406 470 660
hey, i've been playing Mage since vanilla but now try and play warrior as a tank. wondered if anyone can recommend how to get good with a 120 boost??
just play and follow guide's at youtube? 🙂
Icyveins guide is a good place to start
Video guides get outdated quickly. Read the icy-veins guide
Read it, absorb it
Then adapt it
For specific questions you're welcome to ask here
okey ty 🙂
General tip is, warrior is a pro-active tank.
Meaning you do stuff before taking dmg.
Meaning you will try to reduce incoming damage as efficient as possible.
After taking damage you can't do alot
ah, okey then i understand a bit more 🙂 ty for helping a noob warrior so far 🙂
Hey guys, for M+, which would be better to use? I'm assuming pods for the heal but not 100%

dope
I'm hoping you got the meme
Nope - mostly in the fury chat, but I'm assuming they're universally garbage but n00bs think they're amazing?
So you read the name of the emote okay good, sporepods are rng af for pve and unreliable, good for pvp cuz you aren't full hp all the time.
Gotcha, I was thinking phail for other reasons but good to know. I just OS tnak for friend m+'s
Thanks for the advice 🙂
Phial is technically not desirable for m+ cuz it's potential lies in getting 6 stacks from 1 target to have many procs, then use the buffed up version to slap in aoe
But that's unrealistic af
But it's still like 1-1.5k dps in m+ so I PERSONALLY don't think it's that bad tbh
It's probably better for prot than my razor coral lol
Otherwise I have a 420 utility pylon.
wdym coral slaps
Doesn't it basically give you a bunch of static crit essentially? Since you get the stacks automatically when the mob dies?
yeah if you're pulling fairly quickly you'll get good use out if it in the next pack
it also does a pretty decent amount of dmg when you proc stacks on it
I'll proc your stacks
like yeah this is a rogue but look at the coral dmg portion compared to inkpod
almost half the dmg of arguably the best dmg proc trinket + a bunch of crit on top of that
I think it just gets a bad rap because the crit isn't a visible increase on meters
Coral is 200-300 crit on a 20 sec cd...
and damage...
You get the crit automatically when the mob dies though, without having to use it again
Ye but it's so little
So you basically just use it in every pack and have static crit throughout the dungeon
Ah tru
this week i'm running block/coral tho
Idk I dont see coral doing good unless 20+
gimme all that parry
Cuz adds just die instantly and you get 1-2 stacks per pack tops
Most of coral dmg is on bosses
Just like inkpod
inkpod does the same dmg on low hp mobs as it does on high hp
relatively
it just doesn't scale with multitarget well
but it's so busted on st that it's still decent on mt
Well inkpod only gets good value on high hp
On low shit it just procs once for 16-50k
it should do about the same
on average
unless you're ripping coral with it on the big hp
coral + inkpod is what gets you bonus value on high hp mobs
Whereas I had a 500k proc on 1 boss, doing 1/3rd of overall dmg
Idk... I'm running block + inkpod this week
( tbf I don't play alot of keys anymore cuz fuck bfa).
like i tried running phial/coral for some keys
and coral did more dmg than phial
without factoring the crit
lmao
there's a bunch of bosses that cuck your inkpod tho in keys
and some coral too
like last boss ML
or 2nd boss ToS
tho i did have inkpod pop on first boss ML while he had bombs
- coral rip + bote >:D
So looking at logs, 21 KR they had 36% uptime on coral buff, mostly 1 stack. Same with a 21 Shrine. Mostly 1 stack. And then the damage proc was about 1% overall damage. That does seem kinda meh since 1 stack even at 445 is only like 1.6% crit. vs. something like butcher block that has like 25-30% uptime on upwards of 10% crit, and that's only at 400 ilevel (can't see higher than that in journal)
Is it now
So that's about 12.5%
And roughly 30% uptime
Yeah
i guess edict is still p decent this week
better than urchin
since it'll get used before you get significant necro stacks
broke the 18 by 2 minutes
Hey that's not bad though
but hey i didn't had any struggle :D
What key was it?
TD
i hate TD
Definitely not bad then. Easily the worst fuckin dungeon of the expansion
i got the first 5 packs on the first room and died after a couple seconds heh
you really gotta have a good plan and execute it well for using the cannon
yeah bro i'm not a pussy
i think people only do that with a frost mage kiter lol
just making laps whittling it downn
🙃
we had earthen elemental, a ring of peace and a typhoon
i really wanna try that on my mage
Elemental probably dies so fast to that much trash though
frost mage u can go wild on the cannons
get some rogues tricksing to the mage, and mage just chuckking orbs/blizzard/lances
I wanna know more about these blizzardlances
:|
But yeah you fuck up kiting that pull and you're done for lol
One squeeze at a bad time and you're getting fucked up
Plus you gotta control bursting stacks this week which doesn't sound overly fun to me
i think they'll sorta naturally stagger
but i guess you could get unluck
the big thing is you need the right emissaries out there
or it's not possible
First and last boss are the real challenge this week anyway I guess lol
I think this week is just the 2 enchanteds and I'm pretty sure you can avoid pulling both of them if you're careful
nerf on titanforge podcast
Nerf is amazing at playing dungeons, not great at classes
you're just jealous of his leech
Clearly
I still have this weird trifecta of belt options
kinda leaning more toward the leech one these days cause haste
belt is a very easy slot to asses
dun dun dunnnnnn
i been using the eternity belt mostly
it sims highest deeps
is haste the best offensive stat aswell?

For essences in general in M+'s should I be using Vision as prim and aegis/lucid as secondaries ( genericly, not for specific dungs)
yee. though I don't really do pvp and grinding spare crates is annoying af lol
So did anyone try the new essences on PTR? Are they good? Crap?
Hi
hi
Two seem crap, theres a buff one whenever someone uses their major power that seem pretty good, especially because it gives corruption resistance so you can have more free corrupted gear bonus’
overall the new raid jsut isn't very warrior friendly, shitload of magic and dot damage to be honest
monk with new weapon looks OP as fuck to be honest
probally both tank will be forced into the new Spark of inspiration to buff raid damage
hi @junior ivy
is the 430 worth swapping to?
So, for the memes, is there a bis timewalking set anywhere
@void hill upgrade benthic to 425 and keep it
@rapid jewel sound logic
Should I use urchin this week?
tanks can't use spark of inspiration @rapid jewel it's a dps only essence
the tank one is strength of the warden
@azure sapphire cns also
That means we have no choice next patch? VoP forever (it's receiving a 12% buff)?
@distant crystal worst dungeon this xpac is KR imo
Can you get lvl3 null barrier without owning level 2 one?
I don't think you can
You can't. It isn't available at the vendor til you buy rank 2
Is there anything I can do against Necrotic or do I just have to try and get someone in my group who has a good slow so I can kite?
Or pally bubble
shockwave -> leap?
In packed dungeons like Motherload with Beguiling it's hard to find a place to leap without pulling more.
If you have an r druid, ursols. Ring of peace if you have a monk. Trees if you have a boomie.
Sphere of suppression is a decent minor this week.
How do you deal with bursting stacks at the end of a pull
i just did an atal and died 4 times at the end of the pull
make the healer pump more, or reset necrotic stacks earlier
is there a good way to reset recrotic in a pug?
Is Tiragard Sharp the best health regen between pulls
From a vendor, yeah.
Mage food is better. And the fish feast from Darkmoon Faire is the best.
Yea, i get mage food when i can
but yea i mean vendor
okay next newbie question what's the best way to track interupts and casts
i have an interupt tracker for the group but what about just dealing with the mobs
Like knowing what to interrupt?
i see streamers who have big cast bars and so that say they set a focus traget
know what to interrupt i just knowing the dungeon i guess, im just talking about being efficient with stuff.
Probably best not to overthink it tbh. As a tank you're pretty free to switch targets when you need to so I don't think a focus macro is as necessary for kicks for you
i just look for cast bars personally, i think it's just best in general to attempt to be hyper-aware of what is cast so you get in the habit of noticing. Reacting is straight-forward
It's nice for DPS because you can prioritize the right target but still get your kick off
LittleWigs is pretty good about announcing important trash mob casts as well.
okay what about tracking cd's to know how big of a pull is okay
personal cds?
i'm using dbm currently havent made the switch yet
Tehr's Raid CDs or Nnogga's Party CD are good
or your groups? for the latter there is a WA
groups
see: above
Depending on if you prefer text or icons
exorsus raid tools have has nice cd tracking for everything, from kicks over def and offensive
i use tehr's kick tracker or w/e it's nice
Do you guys use Plater? I have threatplates
I use Plater
i have conceded that keeping track of bleed snapshots is not something i like doing manually
Ah yes, feral. The one spec that still snapshots (I think it's the only one anyway)
What do you need to track on a bear tank? The GCD?
CAN I PUSH SWIPE AGAIN YET? Lol of course you can
there is a nice unit marker WA for M+, when you are in voice its make it easier to communicate which target your are kicking
lol mostly for overlapping IF windows
That's fair
Is it worth casting Maul yet?
[in st absolutely
Didn't they change something about Maul not that long ago? Reduced rage cost or something?
@rapid jewel what WA is it?
@warm plinth Plater seems to stack up nicely, my threatpates can get a little all over the place in big groups
Yeah it's pretty good.
would anyone mind going over some logs?
hi guys, how do you play around necrotic and bursting?
Please, post them so we can judge 🙊
Reset early so bursting doesn't happen when you're already low
how many stacks is early?
It's more like what level of health is early tbh lol
I don't really look at stacks too much. It's more based on how stable my HP is
Usually I burst through until the end of demoshout or avatar depending on my health. After that Our dmg drops anyway
Okay no judgment here
But how in the world do you have more casts of Revenge than Thunder Clap. And how is it even close
Sup
There's a glitch in the Matrix
tbh i usually just revenge when it procs
@coral marsh typically it depends on the key / key level for me. But some dungeons I’m comfortable going to 30-40 stacks. Others 20.
It changes every pull depending on how many mobs, their health left at the time I see an opening, and the amount of magic damage
Yeah I do opportunity resets too; e.g. in Freehold if I get thrown, I'll take that opportunity to reset (unless I'm like super low stacks or something)
i never did necrotic really, how easy is it to reset? is one nitro boost enough?
@void hill You're not pushing Avatar nearly enough
its +15
i also only have visions 1
In the beginning of that dungeon you had 2+ minute gaps between your first 4 Avatars
Doesn't matter; you literally had more time between them than the normal cooldown before Anger Management even comes into play
@void hill your avatar uptime is to low, resulting in low clap count, resulting in to much revenge spam. Your SB casts are on the lowside, same goes for last stand. You should fix the avatar / clap issue fast, before you train bad muscle memory
@coral marsh it’s really dependent on what dungeon and your group. There are a lot of pulls where I don’t reset necrotic at all. Purely because mobs are about to die and if it’s mostly physical damage with our toolkit we don’t take much damage
So we don’t need to be healed much
Make an annoying WA for avatar, so you will use it more.
Yeah you go very long periods without Shield Block up as well.
make it bigger, glowy and jumping
lol
37.62% uptime was a little low before vision was introduced. Now 50%+
Is what people usually have
okay
can you outrange bursting?
Yes you can Adrenalin
Not realistic to do so in most situations though
@void hill more last stand to help cover gaps in shield block. Usually the best starting point is 3 SB > last stand and repeat/. Fill in gasp of LS with other things
yea, that's what im trying to do just need to get better
@void hill Dont try to fix every issue at once, try to fix avatar / clap first. Come back tomorrow, when you get that down
when you say fill gap of LS do you mean other cooldowns?
Last Stand is basically shield block from a defensive standpoint
thanks
right
So you can do 3x Shield Block > Last Stand > 3x Shield Block
yes that's what i try and do
After that, you have to use other things to mitigate damage (if the fight is long enough)
no, you will have gaps where you have either SB or LS, there you want to pull small or use other def
which essences would you take this week for motherload?
So you can fill in the gap with Shield Wall or a healer external
There will be times when you can’t last stand after 3 SB
Yeah, you won't always have it available, so you have to use something else.
And, no offense, but you might be trying to do that but it's not really happening. And Shield Block/Last Stand usage is the most important thing you should be doing properly. No Shield Block and you're gonna drop like a stone.
Like this is what a DK's HP should look like, not a warrior's.
Like this is my warrior from a freehold (my low points were being a little too gung ho and not kiting when I should've lol)
And I'm far from a great warrior; just ask Riki
I wish I had logs from last night. Though mine would look different because I was running with an rdruid who spent most of his time as a kitty
And we were sloppy - just blowing up and killing everything in 14-16 keys for fun
Gotta get Loggerhead
Makes it so I don't have to remember to log; just have to remember to upload before it's so big I have to split it XD
The rdruid usually logs but didn’t last night. And I was lazy
Loggerhead is great; basically the first time you enter a dungeon on a certain difficulty, it asks if you want to log that. Once you've done them all on M+, it just auto logs any time you start a key
And stops when you leave the dungeon
what are some numbers or percents i should be shooting for
avatar > 50%, sb + ls uptime > 80%
Don’t worry about break points / certain percentages to shoot for
Avatar should be at 50%+ uptime, even with R1. Demo uptime is good already; you're doing well with that. Shield Block should be around 50% (on a log; in-game it'll be higher because Details doesn't track downtime)
Sorry, I thought you meant stats
haste try to get around 1450 at least so you can do 3 SB without gabs, lower just feels bad in my opinion
That is entirely opinion because more stats is just better though
Ideally more haste - but don’t sacrifice Ilvl
quick navigation entchant is better then force multiplier when you have low haste
okay
great info guys ty
i picked a heck of a week to learn to tank m+ on warrior
lol
Yeah this is definitely one of my least favorite weeks to tank
But as a warrior it's better than some other specs lol
Just run double dps trinkets and have fun
You can’t get necrotic if everything is dead
One of the things i struggle with too is losing aggro on pull
That's because you're not using Avatar enough
That’ll change as you get gear too gorb. Do you have your third essence slot too?
neck level?
67
You can have Avatar up at the start of just about every pull. That's huge for burst threat.
More avatar will help. Don’t hit avatar and demo shout back to back either
also if you avatar + demo on pull, you have 2 gcd with very little aggro. Try using avatar before pull to save a gcd
Avatar - clap - demo - clap
You don't need to pre-pull Avatar. You can Avatar while you're intercepting and then hit SB+TC when you get there.
need to go back and watch my vod's because i think im doing these things but clearly im not lol
That's literally the only reason I stream. So I can go back and look at the dumb shit I did so I hopefully don't do them again the next time.
😄
And so I can mock him
That too
I know I'm an adult when I get psyched that a grocery pickup time popped up on a previously full day so I don't have to go into the store. Or maybe I'm just lazy 🤔
Probably the latter
On the other hand, is it really so bad to not want to go into a Walmart on a Sunday afternoon?
That said - enough shit talking for now. Headed out to a bit
Idk how I'll live without your smart ass while you're gone
luckily my wife does all that
👀
My girlfriend usually does it but I'm off today and she works and we've been living off pizza for the last 3 days
What setup would you pick for Mythic Azsahra?
Sorry if this is a noob question. I am tanking for M+ dont really plan on doing any raiding. But one thing im not sure of when i should be using is Last Stand. Im running Indomitable just because i dont know when to use Last Stand. Any advice
@hard cypress its there to fill SB gaps with the talent, nothing more
oh okay
It also has the benefit of making it so people don't make fun of you for running Indom
😏
Indom is for freehold boosting 🙂

which essences would you take this week for ml 15? i started defaulting to perfect + dream + null, deep seems to be worse almost every time compared to null?
in mdi they always take null as well as far as i saw
Those are fine. ML shouldn't be bad this week other than last 2 bosses like every tyr week
it was more of a "I dont use Last Stand that much because i dont know when i should be using it, so i should use a talent that will be useful all the time:
Does Reckless Flurry affect my auto attacks even though I'm not Fury?
yes
ys
That's neat.
It’s for memeparses
its decent on zqaul as offtank, since you dont have to do much anyway
is a 440 orgo wep better to have than a 445 sivara wep?
is the on use more valuable
Mvpg is correct. And regarding RF - yeah it does and yeah I use it on everything up through orgozoa even on progression
Hi! a guildie of mine is explaining us that warriors had a speed increase on taunt in legion (especially on fallen avatar) that worked like Provoke. As far as I'm aware that wasn't the case. Am I wrong?
It is not the case. I'm fairly certain that's only Provoke.
Don't remember any tier set/legendaries/artifact ability that allowed you to do that
Yeah that's not a thing. Provoke and Clash are the only taunts that have ever granted increased movement speed to the mob as far as i know.
We did have it but it was tied into another ability I believe, might've been heroic leap
Yes taunt had increased speed ifirc with battle rage up
Pretty sure it was a talent but having a brain blank
Ahh rage possibly would make sense, yeah it was after using an ability it had no cd and made them go faster
Oh, no
Warlord's Challenge
The talent in Legion. It made taunt have no CD during Zerker Rage and made them move 50% faster while taunted.
Yes that
Aha there we go, iirc it was situational as there was a talent that was generally better
I don't recall using it very often
You used Warlord's Challenge during Skittish week
Yeah
DHT skittish using it to pick up all those plant dudes and then it was on CD when they got a fear off. Good times 🙃
used it with w/e set bonus that made BR give rage too
rip
Nah fuck that. RIP Warbringer and Reflective Plating; the only two things that matter!
Well, Warbringer, Reflective Plating, and Sense YT keys
miss legion
😭
Nuke legion tbf
2nd boss SOTS where is best positioning? ive seen people use all the way to the left of the circle
to avoid tornados
That's the one that we use. Works great.
As long as tank and DPS are careful with positioning so they don't accidentally get cleaved when the tank has to run the boss to the other side because of rune or ward
How OP is BDK going to be 8.3
Compared to Prot Warrior
I heard BDK is going to be huge
BDK isn’t even changing in 8.3 are they?
Not that I'm aware of
A weapon that is currently clearly broken in testing, yes
What if they don't nerf it 🤧
I mean, it’s a good weapon but I doubt it’s gonna be good enough to bridge the pretty big gap between them and us.
The 5% armor is something they need though imo. They got hit a little hard with that nerf
Yeah I know. But it’s clearly not gonna stay that way.
They will nerf it, it's not even a question. Hence why it's on the test realm.
If they don't nerf it bdk will be top dps in m+ even among dps specs
So.... It will get nerfed
Doing 800k dps when a normal dps does 200k... Big think
By how muhc will it tho
I hope they completly change it. The agi staff with its ~10k dps and HPS looks stupid too
I guess even fury warrior would love to dual wield that shit
@sick sentinel by probably a lot tbh
If you're particularly worried about which tanks going to be best each patch, just have one of each and then you'll never have to worry.
TBH I kinda wish the 1h sword was better
It’ll probably be insane for something like a DH not so much for us since it’s hp based
I have a druid, Dh and this warrior
Isn’t it a str sword?
I always wanted a DK anyway
If it’s the one I’m thinking
I like the playstyle
I think so but I’m not sure if it swaps to agi or not
Ah
Idk I see them either increasing the amount of health needed to trigger the proc, adding an ICD, or both
Probably both
Cuz 100% of your hp pool gets chewed through so many times throughout a fight
And unless they up it to 10x your health pool I don’t see it not triggering too often
but it was the same with essences, on the first iteration on PTR they where 3-10 x as powerfull as they are now.
Man, just endured a toxic AD but was rewarded with a 440 rezans
Boomie not using trees, people refreshing 6-7 bursting stacks. Dying to spiders on last boss. But all worth it.
Where is the toxic part? Sounds like the basic Pug to me, to be honest 🙂
Probably just add a 1 min CD on the DK weapon damage knowing blizzard
necrotic feels undertuned
maybe just a nice heal but i remember it being a lot more aids when it was magic damage in legion
It's probably more balanced for all tanks now, was a bit stupid that DKs could just ams it
I mean
Now paladin can get rid of it without a talent. Dwarfs/DID can racial it.
It's really less balanced now because it impacts DK more than it did whereas it didn't really change for anyone else.
What Tank does handle magic damage well?
Define well
ok, who is the best tank vs magic damage
Probably monk as they put the damage into a dot and self heal it
DH are pretty strong against magic as well
With glutt build with DH
It's one of the most tanky tanks you can get
It just lacks all sorts of damage and utility
You think you fancy huh
SIR! I know I’m fancy
We can just blame the entire server of Ragnaros
@white valley is he in this server? Running out of mana smh
@warm plinth Bruh did he just blame me for that wipe ?!
What a meme.
If he wasn't taking so much damage, i wouldn't have had to smend spam him so much thus going oom.
I mean, you DID run out of mana
.<
lol
Yeah, DK got hard boned with the necro change. Like, they have zero mobility and now no ability to drop stacks.
Would you guys use the socket?
Use the 435
shield and weapoms always iLvL, no matter what.
Thoughts on Crystalline Carapace?
what about it
@grim nymph it's nothing special - we are already strong vs physical damage thanks to our toolkit and the damage it does back to the attackers is meh.
hey anyone ever tried a divers folly in keys? would it work well for prot?
1)No i haven't tried it cause of all the agi people want it and it's not on our loot table.
2)It has SOME potential on AoE.
is the alchemy trinket worth to craft?
It's decent - but always depends what other options you have available to you.
Is it possible to obtain Thunderfury in BFA?
yes
Good, thx
Which are the bis essences for m+? New to prot warr
VoP major, CnS/Aegis/Shpere/Null/Lucid minors
Lyari there is also the inflatable thunderfury timewalking consumables
Usable in m+ even and persists through death
...I did not realize it persisted through death.
Time to stock up.
How does everyone feel about the Jes Howler trinket? I just got rezans to replace the Howler and I kind of miss it.
My howler is 15 ilvls above most of my other stuff so I tend to use it
is a 440 briny barnacle worth using over 425 rezan or 425 butcher block in m+ ?
Briny is fun in low keys, especially ones with lots of yellow mobs like TD/SoTS. Because you can focus the low HP mobs and reliably chain it.
But off it lacks defensive benefit, and in higher keys those yellow mobs don't reliably die in the window.
@ionic fern 👋
I'm thinking about switching to prot warrior main for raiding (from dps), and I was wondering how they fare in Mythic raiding?
Do y'all recommend 4 or 5 healing Orgo on prog?
Every guide I've read recommends 5 healing for the first couple kills
We 5 healed
@last thistle current raid they are fine. next raid there are better choices in my opinion.
I recommend 5 unless you have 4 very good heal CDs
They say you can 4 heal it once you get more gear etc. We're running 2 RSham, 1 Disc, and 2 Holy Pallies right now
@rapid jewel Monk again or are we thinking something else?
monk I guess, the new corrupted weapon will bost them quite a bit I guess
Aidlow what's the average ilvl of your raid? I would just try 5 and see from there. DPS should outgear the boss significantly enough by now
440 ish?
At work rn, but I'd ballpark it there.
We got him to 18% last night, but were having some trouble with consistently bringing him to P2
Do 5, your rshams should be able to do some decent damage outside of CD healing
Mainly the last 10 or so percent of the fight
Our pallies are pumping decently too
Honestly we haven't gotten there consistently enough yet
But general rule is rpobably gonna be smash the first set of naga and ignore the second set
That's what we did and we 5 healed just fine
And your healers will do more DPS than ours
Do y'all still 5 heal it now on farm?
It's not on farm yet lol we got it this week but have been consistently getting to p2 since last week
orgozoa is fun to tank
Yeah we normally ran prot pal, war, monk
But on our kill we ran 2 monks and me
And just 3 tanked cause that's the strat we knew
@last thistle monk will always be great for raiding, pally bdk and vdh are looking very strong for next tier due to high amounts of magic dmg
This tier prot warri was 2nd best same as last tier
Warri is looking to be best tank for m+ again but that isn't 100% clear
Thanks.
I want to raid lead and I figure tanking was probably a good position to do so from instead of melee dps. Trying to figure out what I should aim for.
If you're new to tanking it can be quite an overwhelming task to manage yourself and the raid.
Ranged dps would be the easiest to raid lead as, I would think
But depends on the person I guess
I went from raid leading as a MDPS to raid leading as a tank and it's definitely been a bit more difficult to adjust
Range DPS and Heal is prefered for raidlead. As melee and tank you dont have the raid overview for player positioning, debuffs etc.
Yeah, healer is prob best...I just don't have any healer alt rdy or even 120 😛
you have 2 month, wait for timewalking week and you get the leveling done in 1 day
I have 4hrs played on my 120 boosted wl and neck is 59 have vop, will get Cof r3 and lucid today, prolly get like 63 before reset and like 430 ilvl
Shits easy besides some essences
The rep grind is the annoying part really 😛
Thankfully demo lock only needs vop lucid and iris
Well warlock is by far the only caster i like
Too bad they're trimmed to be only good in raid so I never got around to keeping up my old 8.0 warlock
"Good"
They are great in raids what do you mean
after learning that in 9.0 legendaries will be tmoggable....I think i'm going to boost a DK
I’ll boost you
Is that so
hell yeah, i gotta hunch that it'll be limited to the char that actually equipped it....
Maybe I’ll go farm warglaives and actually keep them. My luck on those is spectacular. I’ve given away 3 sets XD
i still need the left one on my dh
But probably if I actually go with the intent to farm they won’t drop
Just run with me once
You’ll get it
it's a date!
Aww
@wooden radish
@ionic fern are you hypu for shadowlands ?
Mwahi doesn’t do content. He just theorycrafts about it.
secondary stats for m+?
when i should play aegis/dynamo/vision/conflict?
depends on the affixes and key level
but honestly, if nothing has changed.... you will never use 2 of those
the correct question would be vision/nullification dynamo/sphere/crucible
What’s up
chip
hey, kinda new to prot warri and I got a question. I wanna run higher m+ keys with my grp but I feel like my dmg output is way too low. it's hard for me to decide whether to use my rage for defense (SB, IP) or to just spam revenge anyway even without procc - rn I think I spent too much rage on defense, and I wonder how are the MDI guys doing it, never really dropping real hard (in good play) but dealing some decent dmg. can somebody give me some advices pls? feel kinda lost
You're probably just not using your cooldowns like you're supposed to.
Avatar and Demoralizing Shout should be used on cooldown. SB is not an option; you have to have it up to survive in any relevant content. You can choose between IP and Revenge but in M+ your Revenges are free a lot anyway.
MDI players also have the benefit of handpicking their gear, so they have the highest ilevel they can, and optimal stats for pushing damage.
you wanna do big damage? pull multiple packs.
you wanna pull multiple packs and survive? use shield block and your toolkit efficiently
more mobs = more thundeclap padding with avatar
confused. so shieldblock IS an option? I also thought it pretty important for big pulls
no
I said it's not an option
shield block is not an option, ghash said it correctly
It's a requirement
ah! misread that
if you're getting melee'd or hit by physical ranged or blockable attacks YOU NEED SHIELD BLOCK UP
Basically have shieldblock up all the time you can, unless you know its not blockable
you do not get to not use it for "offensive purposes"
Yep, which is basically just 3rd/4th boss of ML
and zul
Zul melees
If you run out of shieldblock substitute with Last stand ( it's basically shield block)
Cuz you WILL play bolster talent
If you don't you're inting
Get 3x bom, pull comfortably and what makes sense
And start shredding
Knowledge is key
TLDR: keep up block and keep on clapping.
Nomes pfp and his current discourse is quite the pair lol
Mob abilities, group CDs, boss abilities, healer abilities
The better you know the dungeon and its mechanics, the better your decision making is as far as whether you can handle a certain pull or not.
wah
Also like the teams you watch in the MDI are explicitly on-point with kicks/general lockdown of any danger that is player-preventable. It's a huge reason their damage intake is so smooth
to address your wants: if you want to run higher keys you need to know
what to do and how to pull
your damage output becomes secondary
you cant dps when you're dead
Their tank in Shrine: "Zzzzz where's the damage"
Me in Shrine: "Yes, I'll take 5 Raging Water Bolts to the face, please"
or literally everyone next expac
@ionic fern 🐀
Nah we're alive but in Shadowlands
excuse me
We're just in the world of the dead, but we're not actually dead. That's why we're special and can leave the Maw
not if we get a M. Night Shamalamadingdong plot twist at the end!
MAW WALKERS
alright thanks for your advices
MAW NUTS
MAW DEEPS
😎
Cat man. 😦
did you forget to buy some catnip again mwahi
quick get the laser pointer
hey blade
have you been "ok boomer"'d yet?
i found out last friday! it's the new "cuck"
If the cutscene doesn't say something about us already being dead, I'm gonna throw a fit.
We're not boomers though
We're millenials
Hi all, new prot warrior here starting on low level M+s as i learn. Could you help me on which of these are the 2 i should be using?
rezan + pcd,
tks
Barnacle does decent damage tbf.
I would probably use it if I didn’t have a badass punchcard
Nope, I haven't! I'm technically a millenial so i'm hip as they get
during what circumstances, if there are any, is never surrender better than bolster?
I'd say never
you'll likely take indom before never
^
If you have a lot of BFIs, can devast be more defensive ST than booming?
NS is virtually useless
but he asked when it is better, not what is the best 🙂
No Mvpg-
Why
As a prot warrior should i avoid the better traits and allways go for high ilvl Azereite or is it worth having a 435 with good traits instead of a 450 whit semi traits ?
highest ilvl
because of rage gain @sick sentinel
ty man 🙂
doesn't matter
I swap to never surrender for 3rd and 4th boss in ml keys
devastator isn't far behind booming voice defensive wise, the rage difference isnt huge when I checked logs last time
ok boomer
😎
Got em
🤧
you should have let him say it
Who
humtol
yes?
👋
OK boomer
👍
yeah I know. I still prefer devastator over BV. I like playing devastator more.
Yeah, afaik
And it has to go to the right. You can still proximity aggro if one of them runs too close to the tides
my fav part of this week--
Me: "be careful with the little ghost shits cuz of burst-"
my DH: "I GOT THIS"
proceeds to cause a 7 stack bursting mid-pull
Me, Healer, and everyone in between: " 😑
lol
We almost died to the pack after wiping and had to kill so we could take the spirit birdie.
But I always carry health pots so I never die to bursting
I just play my prot pala. Spellward healer, bubble myself, LoH a dps, maybe sac the other. Feelsgoodman
ok boomer
Yeah, I had to pull some shit when that happend. SI > FR tricks > Typhoon +SMend > WG > Shift back to not get smacked
Boomerwind
it was spicy, and I think it all came together because we all subconsciously just saved each other and let my DH die.
Question: I know the root from C&S doesnt get applied if you run minor Sphere of Suppresion. Does the root still get applied if the target is slowed by less than 30%? As in is 30% the breakpoint?
yes
Yeah otherwise it would never work, because Thunder Clap (the ability that triggers the root) is a 20% slow :p
did i miss something
why are people running C&S?
are we back to bdk kiting
and memes
smh
necrotic week i guess

It's fun to run as a major in arena 😄
Or well, you don't need the essence I guess
But the talent is super fun
Maybe people want PvP fun in PvE
true enough it was always fun in wpvp
I'm guessing for necrotic, though it's not necessary imo
ah yes
I saw him running it as major
Did you though
i especially liked people copying warriors that do 10 key levels higher than they do
on content that really does not apply to them
boomerchip
Alright calm down
God that boomer stuff is aggravating lol.
chip just likes to get riled up Kratos; don't mind him
Ran c&s major sphere minor in tol dagor, bur I'm still bad at the game
yeah, he's just an angsty boomer
ok boomer
Running C&S major and sphere minor makes no sense
Well I just thought it might be good due to the double effect always active and then I checked the nr 1 warrior and saw hi musing it
Because the root doesn't work if they have the sphere snare on them
Wait rly
Really
Ouch
If you have a 30% slow on the mob, the root doesn't work
Who said anything about using the sphere with major c&s?
ziggy did
ziggy did?
I didn't tell people to do it
Ran c&s major sphere minor in tol dagor, bur I'm still bad at the game - mans was just reflecting lol
We didn't say you did. Just that you brought it up lol
Well darn thx all
but like....we still get to burn someone right? I got my torch lit and everything...
We still ❤ you Ziggy
boomersong
🙄
Stewart would be ashamed
