you can sim to get an idea of what would be better in M+ but you can't just run one type of sim and be done with it. If you fought a 5 target pack every single pull and it lasted a minute every time, then you could go based purely on a 5-patch sim but you don't have a 5 target pack every pull.
You need to run multiple types and use your common sense because M+ is too variable a situation for you to be able to just run a sim and say ok this is better

Generally there is a better helmet, but you can get good use out of the engineering helmet while focusing on the other slots

The engineering helms have been good thus far. There are probably better ones (especially if you want a third BoM, which they don't provide), but it has very solid traits.
